Nice beach, great pool, convenient location. Visited: April 2001 Posted by grisselec I stayed at the Intercontinental in 2000 when it was the Grand and again in 2001 after it was taken over by Intercontinental. Both times I was there for a conference and got great rates. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. The pool area is great and the beach behind the hotel is wonderful. The beauty salon is pretty good, too. I did not eat at the hotel except poolside. In fact, I got married on the boardwalk when it was still the Sands. It was very romantic! The Inter-Contintental is magnificently beautiful, from the lobby and the casino to the breathtaking views of the rooms. The service is great with a very friendly staff. This was my first time in Puerto Rico and I couldn't have asked for a better vacation. The hotel was beautiful with the friendliest staff I have ever seen. There was always someone around to help you. We had a beautiful oceanfront room that was clean and very updated. The pool was magnificent with a gorgeous and relaxing waterfall. There were plenty of restaurants to choose from with great food that wasn't considerably overpriced. I would definitely come back here. Did you find this helpful? The Grand Beach Resort was awesome! The pool area with the mini waterfall was a sight for sore eyes. The staff was very friendly and the Restaurant Ruth's has one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Visited: September 1999 Posted by hmoody In September 1999, my husband and I spent nine (9) wonderful days (9th through 18th) at the San Juan Grand Beach Resort & Casino and had the time of our lives. It was a perfect 25th wedding anniversary. We felt safe, relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful resort with all of its amenities. The staff were excellent, always smiling, friendly and accommodating. We are looking forward to hopefully returning to San Juan with our 2 daughters (ages 27 & 21), to enjoy a family vacation. Since the resort was offering a promotional deal our stay was very reasonable, and we were very satisfied with our 16th floor oceanview room, as well as the free continental breakfast each morning. Before we left to return home, I requested to be put on the mailing list for any future promotions. I really had a wonderful time. The Moodys of Chicago tip our hat to the wonderful resort. Not so Grand Resort Visited: December 1969 Posted by ATraveler I was truly disappointed with this hotel, the outdoor whirpool had cold water, the market cafe had low quality food, and the spa rooms were not cozy. A restful and relaxing hotel Visited: December 1969 Posted by Scoval300 I spent one restful and delightful week at this hotel. It was very clean and had a lot to offer. The spacious pool and Jacuzzi were my favorites. Friendly service and gambling in the evening were available. Visited: December 1969 Posted by mcortez After a lousy flight (6 hours delayed) my boyfriend and I arrived at the hotel only to be accommodated by a friendly staff. They heard of our lousy flight and gave us a free upgrade that included Continental breakfast and our own private veranda that lead to the pool and the beach. The poolside had a cute waterfall and a very attentive bartender at the poolbar. I have never seen such a crystal clear ocean. The hotel had a romantic atmosphere during evening hours and a club that kept you dancing until dawn. The best part about the trip was that I won $200 at the casino.
