this years vacation was the worst ever it is a shame since I had a wonderful vacation when a young lady do not know her name was in charge in my stay in 2006. In my resent vacation the rooms were how can I say filty the dishes has food on them and I was scare to sleep in the beds since they were dirty. Chi Chi and his wife are not what people would think they are just intereste in the money and not on the clients the cleaning lady would not come and clean the office is close early and the person to complain is chi chi and his wife how can care less for the way you are feeling. I do not recomend this plase at all is not a home away from home is a hell away from home pitty I went back because of the young lady they had in charge but I guss she realized who she was working for and left. they will never see me there again. do not be taken by them. |

Chi Chi is not a businessman. He does not seem to know how to run the resort, and its a shame because it has a lot of potential. But, after staying here four days, I simply cannot recommend it to anyone.
Unfortunately, he gave me the impression that he is only interested in the golf aspect of the business, not the upkeep of the resort. The room had not been cleaned before our arrival, and there was no one to complain to because the office was closed after 6 pm through 9 am next morning. When I complained to his wife her answer was "I'm dressed ready to go to a meeting and I cannot clean your room".
Do not waste your time or money on this place! |

My visit to El Legado in June was a terrible experience.
The night we arrived, there was no one to be in touch with, and the floors were dirty. The toilet bowl had a ring around it. Also, I couldn't take a shower because the handle was broken. There were no towels - only hand ones. In addition, there was a huge dead butterfly near the sofa. My family had to sleep with their clothes on because of the filth.
In the morning we were transferred to another room that was better. I spoke with Chi Chi about what was going to be done about the prior night. He claimed he would take care of it during check out.
That morning, I spoke to the secretary. At that time she called his wife, who was not friendly at all - or professional. She offered to give me $25 off that night to me. That was an insult - like having a slap to the face. I told her to keep the $25, and at that time I paid them full.
I guess they're more desperate for money, and don't consider treating their customers with respect. I advise anyone who would think of coming here - do not. |

This was the best time I ever had. Visited: October 2008 |

I visited El Legado in October 2008 for the first time, and had the best time ever.
I enjoyed playing a golf course with 18 signature holes. I had a three-bedroom villa, and the accommodations were great. The decor was very tropical. The entire staff made me feel welcome.
I look forward to returning. |

Chi Chi Rodriguez, his wife Iwalani, and staff make you feel like family. I found El Legado cruising the net a few years back, and have stayed several times.
They provide very nice accommodations - clean and spacious. A bonus - great fishing nearby - just ten minutes away in Pozuelo. There were also some great restaurants there - fresh caught seafood being the specialty. El Arcoiris is my favorite, but it's a close call.

My wife and I decided to get away. By chance, we picked El Legado first because I love golf. From the minute we arrived, we were treated like we had been here forever.
Chi and his wife were great, down to earth people. Also, Maria and the rest of the staff were the best.
Good luck, and I hope to visit again. |
