Do not stay here. Visited: September 2008 |

I stayed in San Juan Beach Hotel for a weekend in September 2008.
The hotel was very modest. The room was furnished with very old furniture, and the curtains had holes. But considering the star rating, I wouldn’t expect anything more. That is not the point.
The point is that the hotel service was absolutely horrible. From day one, my friend and I had nothing but problems. The entrance to the beach was locked. It took them one full day (and that was after our repeated requests) to open the door.
The highlight of the stay was the professional camera disappearing from my room without a trace. We left for a couple of hours, and upon our return, the camera was gone - so was the old mp3 player that was inside my backpack – so whoever stole it went through my stuff!
Well, even if these items were not stolen by the hotel staff, they were definitely stolen by someone who had access to the room key since the door lock wasn’t broken.
We reported the incident to the hotel personnel immediately, and that was when the nightmare started. First, I was told that the hotel had nothing to do with it, and that upon check-in we signed a paper according to which the hotel was not responsible for valuables stored in the room.
But even so, some concern would be nice. Instead, the person we were dealing with was extremely rude and insulting. |

This was worse than the Bates Motel. Visited: April 2007 |

I was here with my sister-in-law on her first trip to Puerto Rico. It was my mistake to bring her to this hotel. It was worse than the Bates Motel.
There was no service. They did not know how deep the pool was, and I was just about to get in the pool when someone came running to tell me that the pool was closed. The pool had harmful chemicals in it, and I was just about to get in. There were no safety signs or indication that the pool was closed. The girl at the front desk didn't even know about it.
The beach was actually a small pit. It was not safe to swim in at all. It was so small that I would say about 25 people would fit tightly on the sand.
It was horrible. We canceled the reservations, and went to Dorado to a incredibly heavenly place with a real beach.
I do not recommend this place to any humans. Actually, not even dogs should be tortured by coming here! |

The pillows were full of mold, the bathroom was all rusted, and I could feel the humidity in the room. The common areas were fine, but not the rooms. The swimming pool was also too deep. It was a disappointment for us, and we ended up leaving the next day. |

If you like a slimmy swimming pool; no swimming in the ocean on a 50' long beach; no service; no towels; damp danky and dirty; a filthy bathroom; switches that don't work; lamps so dirty that you habe to use a paper towel to touch them - well then Bunky - you have found the place! |

A quiet, friendly, and comfortable accommodation. Visited: October 2002 |

This was not a five-star hotel, but it did have 5 star service. This was a very nicely remodeled hotel with wonderful, friendly staff.
The oceanside view was breath taking every morning. The staff bent over backwards to make our stay was pleasant. We were close to shopping, restaurants and the bus line.
For the money, it was a bargan. I hope to be able to return someday. |

Beachfront, but no beach! Visited: December 2001 |

If you're visiting San Juan mostly to go to the beach, don't stay here! The hotel is located on Condado Beach, but it's so rocky that it's not suitable for swimming. There are giant rocks, that make even walking on the beach impossible.
I think this hotel is fine if you're a business traveler. The rooms are nice, and the Ashford Ave. location is convienient for shopping and restaurants, but if you want to enjoy the beach, you should stay elsewhere. |

I felt very safe and comfortable at this hotel. I travel quite a bit, due to my work, and the staff made me feel at home while the view reminded me of paradise. I'll stay here again during my next visit. |

Boutique-style property with excellent personal service. Visited: August 2001 |

This beachfront property offers spectacular ocean- and lagoon-view rooms, a brand new swimming pool and ideal location. It’s walking distance to exclusive boutiques and fine dining, while minutes away from the historic Old San Juan. Best of all was the food at AQUA restaurant!
I strongly recommend this hotel—beautiful rooms, great service, delicious food and spectacular location!

Ideal location for business or pleasure Visited: April 2001 |

The hotel staff made me feel at home. They’re great people that really care about providing quality service. The rooms have million-dollar views that provide you with the tranquility and sounds of the ocean surf or a scenic lagoon.
The hotel is under new management and they know how to run a hotel. The rooms have also been renovated, providing you with amenities found at larger hotels. Plus, it’s only 10 minutes from Old San Juan.
A wonderful experience, and highly recommended.

Very disappointed. Visited: February 2001 |

I was very disappointed with my stay at the Ramada San Juan. Although the Condado area is beautiful and has a lot to offer, this hotel is not rated to be at this location. Only one elevator was working. The room was clean, but it was not a room to brag about. The bathroom was not in the best condition.
The restaurant was the worst I've ever visited. The waiters did not have a clue as to what they were doing. The service at the restaurant was extra slow; there were only three menus and the prices were ridiculous. The staff, however, were pleasant.
Also, the view next to the hotel was the view of the old Condado Hotel that has been abandoned for quite a while; it was an eye sore! I am
planning to visit the area again this year, but unfortunately, I will not be staying at
the Ramada San Juan. |
