This place was absolutely what I wanted. It was not the Ritz, nor was it the "try-and-save-a-buck" inn.
The people at this place bent over backwards to insure that my interests and stay met my expectations. I told them what I wanted, and they made sure I knew every option available.
It was a boutique guest-house, slightly off the beaten path. Unless you rent a car, you have to travel by taxi, so bring your wallet, and make sure you know the address. But that goes for wherever you stay here.
Our friends stayed at the Ritz. All they ended up doing was spending more money. Oceana Hostal Playero was like the "hole-in-the-wall" bar you like to go to when you just want to sit back and not have to deal with pretentious people and (just plain stupidity). |

It is simply gorgeous. Nothing even comes close to Oceana for its price. We will keep coming back again and again. |

You won't get anything even close to this for the price in the Condado area. It's just fantastic.
Also, their vegetarian and Puerto Rican food is the best I ever had in the island. They got us! |

As a business traveler, usually I stay at the average chain hotels, which is okay and practical. This time, I wanted to try a new experience and booked myself at this small inn named Oceana.
Its coziness and distinctive style was a very positive surprise. I was amazed. From now on, I will try to keep away from the typical lodging. And money wise, Oceana's rates are a great value. |

My girlfriend and I did our homework searching for a nice spot without spending a lot of money. We found it. It is Oceana Hostal Playero.
This is a cozy hideaway out of the noisy chain hotels. It is really close to everything. They have great amenities for those who have nothing to prove.
We will come back this Christmas. |

It's cozy and artsy. It's not luxurious, but the decor is in simply good taste and there are lots of details.
It has all the goodies to make a guest feel comfortable, at ease, relaxed.
There is no need to spend more in any other place. It is just perfect for me. |

They have an excellent location. Also, the food is great. The staff is nice and willing to help people. There is also a good range of amenities (including free parking).
It is clean, neat, and have roomy accommodations. It is simply the best value for money in their neighborhood. Most people will not expect that from guest rooms starting at $69. Do they? |

I arrived here at 2:00 am on a late flight. They put my wife, our five-year-old and nine-month-old, and me in a disgusting room. It was worn out, missing tile in the bath tub, and had no water pressure - for $130.
Breakfast was a slice of bread and a slice of fruit. Coffee was okay, but there were cigarette ashes on our table - which we had to clean off ourselves.
I had reserved a villa for two days for when we came back to San Juan five days later. I wanted to see what I was paying for. So, I asked to see the room. They showed me a decent room (not a fully equipped kitchen) but I had already paid for it, so I figured I would just deal.
When I came back five days later, they couldn't find my information or the key to the room. Finally, they said the room was ready - except they brought me to a different room.
It was so gross, there was no way I would let my kids be in there for two days. My wife saw a cockroach, and the room smelled like mold. The extra bed was by the front door, and the TV was on top of the kitchen counter. There were no pots, pans or anything.
They advertised a fully equipped kithcen, so we bought all these groceries. I demanded my money back. The female owner gave me my money back, but gave us this death look as we drove off. Don't stay here - it is not worth the money. |
