Description:

This Vieques inn is something to talk about. Resting on a hilltop with spectacular views of the surrounding Caribbean, Hacienda Tamarindo, offers 16 carefully appointed rooms, each individually decorated by owner Linda Vail and filled with a collection of art, antiques, and personal collectibles. All have private custom-tiled baths and terra cotta tiled floors. Some have jacuzzis and private terraces and about half provide air-conditioning while the others enjoy the trade winds. An ancient Tamarind tree, for which the hotel gets its name, graces itself in the middle of the lobby and up three stories through the center of the hotel.

A full American breakfast is served daily on the second-floor terrace for guests. Box and poolside picnic lunches are provided by the hotel or you can walk down the hill to the Inn on the Blue Horizon for lunch and dinner. A well stocked bar is available to guests on the honor system.

A stroll through the palm and mahogany trees takes you to the fresh water pool where again the view is breathtaking. Enjoy a relaxing day by the pool or venture out about the island to find other activities.
