My wife and I stayed here for our 23rd wedding anniversary, and we were not disappointed.

It was very nice. Both the food and service were five stars.

We love this hotel. The sunsets are amazing here. The hotel staff is wonderful.

This was our third trip back. My kids love it here. The rooms are clean and well kept. The breakfast that is included in your stay is a bonus. My husband is a surfer, and it is perfect for a family.

Location of room is important for your needs. Visited: February 2004
Posted by jopaul88
We have just returned from our second visit to Villa Cofresi. We booked our room late this trip so we aquired a very small room near the bar.

The bathroom was extremely small compared to our previous room here. I mean you have the sink in your lap when your at the toilet. The bar was extremely loud - unless you don't mind the noise and join everyone. We could not get to sleep until 2:00 am. After three days of this room, we asked to change to a different location. They were very accommodating.

We had an apartment. It was much bigger with two kids. They kept the rooms very clean. Continental breakfast was fine each day. You can pay $4.50 extra for omelettes, but it wasn't necessary. The bar/grill was great for burgers for the kids.

Also, teach was beautiful here - along with the sunsets. Do not expect luxury here. I would ask for rooms in the new section, however. Those numbers started from 115 to 318 depending upon the floor.

Overall, it was a great value for a Caribbean vacation. I would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Cofresi! Visited: January 2003
Posted by vsully
We visited in January, and there were not many people there which made our stay very relaxing. We had the beach and pool to ourselves.

The front desk people and the housekeeping crew were very friendly. My one-year-old son loved to chase the pigeons and walk on the beach.

Our room was spacious and we had an ocean view. We're going back again next year.

A relaxing atmosphere with gorgeous sunsets. Visited: October 2002

We visited in a low season period, and the hotel did not have a lot of people aroud. This made our visit very quiet and relaxing with not many people to share the gorgeous beach.

Our room was very clean, confortable and had a very nice air conditioned. The free breakfast was okay. They had almost everything: bread, bagels, pancakes, fruits, etc. The staff was friendly and the by-the beach bar was a hit.

At night, we went to town to have a pizza, and the people around were a little scary (junkies - most of them). So just be careful while you are here. Other than that experience, everything was what we wanted for a beautiful, romantic and relaxing weekend.

I recommend it very much if you would like to have a little vacation in Rincon.

We are just thrilled with Villa Cofresi! Visited: July 2002

I had the best time ever at Villa Cofresi. I found the staff to be the nicest people. This hotel offered cleanliness, a good time and - above all - the best view of a lifetime.

Our room had a partial view of the ocean, but trust me, it was more than enough to enjoy the spectacular sunsets. My only regret was that I didn't have more time to stay here. Next time, this is the only place I will stay.

From the front desk to the housekeeping crew, they were all wonderful. They made my vacation one to remember. If you decide to go, stop by the bar for the famous pirate drink not to be missed.

Villa Cofresi was a beautiful beach hotel. Visited: April 2002

We stayed in Villa Cofresi for the Holy weekend. The hotel was full, but we never felt the facilities (pool or beach) were over crowded.

The breakfast was great, the pool was nice, and the beach was beautiful. Our room was really big, and had a beach view, and we enjoyed the beautiful sunrises.

We ate at Landing Restaurant, which is highly recommendable. In the hotel on Easter Sunday, they had an activity for the kids. The children had to look for eggs in the sand area, and the hotel provided a funny clown to paint the children's faces. Our kids really enjoyed this.

We will return to this hotel for the next Holy weekend.

Unbearably noisy and in need of repair. Visited: February 2002
Posted by janicec
Our stay at this hotel was a nightmare. Loud music from the outdoor jukebox or live players went on till 1 AM even though, after the first night, the hotel manager assured us the noise was a one-time event.

The place is built like an ampitheater, where the sound reverberates up from the common area off the metal doors, stone walls, and tile. Lots of locals come to drink, run the jukebox, and play pool in the evenings. I used ear plugs at night and still couldn't sleep - felt like I was in the front row of a rock concert.

The bed was worn out. Shower sprayed everywhere but down. It's got that motel arrangement where you have to keep your window blinds pulled because people walk by outside. Lots of kids screaming in the common area. Tried to leave after the first night but no other accommodations were available.

This is "Margaritaville" - friendly and laid back. Visited: December 2001
Posted by clinta74
The Cofresi was just what I wanted - a place where I could sit on the beach drink margaritas and watch the sun set.

I had a room on the south wing third floor (no patio), so any noise downstairs really did not reach me. My room had a small fridge and table, which came in quite handy. My room was always clean and the staff was always helpful.

Weekdays were very quiet, but during the weekend quite a few people came in from San Juan (they used the Cofresi as a weekend getaway) and it got busier.

Watch the coconut drinks - they pack quite a whollop!

The beach was the main event. It was clean, fairly deserted and great for swimming. I found a couple of snorkeling areas about a mile up the beach.

I mostly just sat and watched the sun bake and I got great sunset pictures. There were hardly any kids around - most days there were none.

There was very little to do besides relax. So if you want a relaxed place to go and just forget the outside world, you will like it here.

I hated to leave, and would return again.

A clean, well ran family hotel. Visited: February 2001
Posted by jopaul88
I found this hotel to be perfect for my family. Housekeeping came everyday to mop the tile floors in the room. I found it spotless around the entire hotel. The kids loved the outdoor jukebox and pool tables. I needed laundry done and asked if they did it. They said yes and took my laundry and within hours it was returned to my room on hangers and folded. Much to my surprise I was not charged. They said it was a courtesy. Don't expect luxury, however, expect to sit in the outdoor lobby drinking their house drink in a coconut and watching your kids have fun, too. Our room had a kitchen; however, it does not have a stove or microwave. You have a cooktop. The continental breakfast was great, featuring fresh fruit, bagels, cereal, cheeses, waffles, pancakes and muffins. I highly recommend it.

Adequate Visited: January 2001

I'm curious to what the other rooms in the hotel looked like. We were so disappointed with our room, that we checked out after one day. We had a "deluxe" room, with a wonderful balcony and view - but room was in disrepair and not too clean. Example: missing ceiling tiles in closet, A/C on it's last legs, windows so dirty they could be scraped. Crime must be a problem, as remote control had to be checked out and returned before leaving. No clock provided. My husband left his electric razor in the washroom, we called that afternoon after checking out and they claimed they did not find it.

To be fair, the beach was beautiful, people were courteous and the outdoor dining was pleasant and reasonably priced (although the hamburger we ordered came partly raw). The continental breakfast wasn't to our taste, but at least they had it.
