Amid the posh Condado strip, Condado Plaza Hotel & Casino is the only luxury hotel overlooking both the Atlantic Ocean and the Condado Lagoon. This Four Diamond resort recently underwent $40 million in renovations. From it's fine dining choices to the largest casino on the island to the live salsa music emanating from it's nightclubs and lounges, Condado Plaza Hotel is as popular as ever with both locals and tourists.
The marble lobby is bright and spacious, adorned with contemporary sculptures, colorful tile murals and a large tropical fish tank. From the lobby you can take an escalator upstairs to where the hotel proudly boasts the largest casino on the island. Also upstairs are several restaurants. Max's Grill, open 24 hours a day, serves up lighter fare such as salads, sandwiches and burgers and boasts an enormous daily buffet breakfast. The restaurant is surrounded completely by glass providing breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. Also upstairs is the Mandalay for Asian cuisine and the hotel's signature restaurant, Cobia serving fresh grilled seafood, tapas and authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. Las Palmas, adjacent to the main pool, is an outdoor café and bar offering both breakfast and lunch al fresco.
Outside, you will find a quaint beach, three large pools, including one saltwater pool, several Jacuzzis, a waterslide and a swim-up bar. There is action all day long at the main pool with music, water aerobics and "aqua volleyball." The hotel also provides aqua cycles, windsurfing and sailing. When you're ready to move, the hotel's perfectly manicured grounds also include clay tennis courts, a basketball court, shuffleboard and several hammocks to laze in by the ocean.
The rooms are bright, spacious and beautifully appointed (most with private balconies). The Plaza Club features concierge services, VIP lounge and much more. It's the perfect choice when luxury is a priority. In addition, all rooms are equipped with a television, VCR, coffee/tea maker, mini-bar, in-room safe, hairdryer, iron/ironing board, walk-in closets, direct-dial phones with dataport and voicemail. The hotel also provides 24-hour room service.
There is enough activity, shopping and nightly entertainment within the hotel to call this a self-contained resort, but there is even more to take in with the local scene, Condado Plaza is ideally located just 10 minutes from Old San Juan and within walking distance to tons of wonderful local restaurants and trendy shops in the Condado area. The hotel is also just 40 minutes from El Yunque Rain Forest and 15 minutes from Luis Munoz Marin International Airport.
