Description:
Parador El Guajataca is on a rolling hillside reaching down to a surf-beaten beach along the north coast.
Each room is rather standard and has its own entrance and private balcony opening onto the turbulent Atlantic. Bathrooms are functional, each with a tub.
Served in a glassed-in dining room where all the windows face the sea, the cuisine isn't much more memorable than the accommodations, with little care going into the preparation of the often-canned ingredients. A local musical group plays for dining and dancing on Friday and Saturday evenings.
There are two swimming pools (one for adults, another for children), plus a playground for children.
