Excellent, peaceful, fun Visited: June 2000 Posted by torr59 The Marriott delivers on all fronts. The Marriott is worth every penny we paid for it. The service is second to none, and the pool and outdoor bar has quick, friendly service. Every one of the bartenders and hotel staff is bilingual and seem to love their jobs. Both restaurants are classy, and the buffets offered are top quality. The location in Condado is near perfect also. The Marriott is near 3 clothing stores and a good dry cleaner, a few nice sitdown outdoor bars and an inexpensive pool hall. You can enjoy a pizza and a local beer while watching everyone walk by on the street. There’s a beautiful but very expensive Japanese restaurant next door to Marriott also, if that’s your taste. You’re a quick 15-dollar cab ride to Old San Juan (with tip), and about the same if you want to go to Isla Verde (near the airport). The Marriott is on the beach, and it is worth it to get a beach view, and even a cabana room on the first floor. Rooms are very clean, and cleaning people are available for extra towels and accessories almost all hours of the night. Room service is A+. (I asked for Mango on my fruit tray in the morning, which is not listed, and they cut a whole one up for no charge.) The bar in the main room next to the Casino is awesome (ask for a Mango Colada with "43" liquor), and the house band on Thursdays and weekends play salsa and a little meringue until 1am. The Delahoya-Shane Mosely fight was on Pay PerView everywhere else, but the staff put 5 TV’s out for all casino and bar patrons to watch for free. I received very good service. My room had a magnificent view of the pool and the ocean. I really loved my stayed and I would recommed people to stay there while in Puerto Rico. The best place to say in Puerto Rico Visited: December 1969 Posted by JOICELEE For the past two years, I have spent my birthday in Puerto Rico and stayed at the Marriott. I will be back again in May. Every year the staff remembers me and the group of friends I travel with. It makes us feel like family. I will never stay anywhere else in Puerto Rico. Visited: December 1969 Posted by mfhardy Believe me when I tell you that if you are going to the lovely Condado area on your visit to Puerto Rico, the only place to stay is at The San Juan Marriott. Don’t make the same mistake that I made by trying to save a few bucks per-night; it’s worth it to have great customer service, great rooms, amenities, and a great breakfast every morning. The casino was fabulous and the pools were perfect and also good for kids. You will be spoiled by the customer service. Overall, this was an excellent hotel. The rooms were nice, with the ocean view being a must. Very nice pool area and a walkout to a very nice beach with chairs, towels provided (no charge) and bar service available. The staff all provided excellent service and were always incredibly courteous and friendly. The hotel restaurant served excellent food/buffets with a thumbs up for their Puerto Rican cuisine (though choices were limited on this). Casino was nice as were night-time activities and music. Hospitable, friendly and convenient. Visited: December 1969 Posted by ATraveler I have stayed at the San Juan Marriott on several occasions and have always found the staff to be friendly and very helpful. They make you feel right at home. Although there are restaurants (excellent cuisine) on the property, its location is convenient to other restuarants, local transportation and a drug store. The elevators and rooms are very secure. The amenities are excellent. Great place to stay Visited: December 1969 Posted by tonobear We would highly recommend the Marriott to anyone who wants to be treated well. There was always a staff member around when you needed them. Besides the great service, I believe this was one of the few hotels that was right on the beach. We personally chose this hotel because of the great reviews from others, and we are glad that we did. My husband and I walked around the whole condado area, and we believe it was the nicest hotel on the beach. There was everything that you would want in it.
