| Las Vegas Guest House was a splendid place to stay. I enjoyed the comfortable accommodations, and it was close to everywhere you want to go. Without a doubt we will return to Las Vegas Guest House the next time we visit Puerto Rico. |

Never again will I stay here. Visited: August 2009 |

| The front desk lady was very rude. She sounded bothered if I asked her a simple question. She was very condescending, and seemed to be there all day, unfortunately. The bathroom smelled awful and had mildew and mold stains on the door and walls. Also, the sheets smelled weird. It was as if someone had laid on them before. Stray cats and dogs ran through the hotel. I made no complaints because I didn't want them to put them in kennels and ship them off to a kill shelter like I believe they did to some dogs I saw when I first arrived. The dogs cried all afternoon as they sat in cages in the burning sun. Besides the main front desk woman, the rest of the staff were nice and very helpful. It was near the beach, too, which meant nice cool breezes at all times. This was a no frills room. If you're just looking for a place near the beach to lay your head, this is fine. |

This was our honeymoon? Visited: October 2008 |
|
| Posted by velmapu | |
| When we checked into our room, we found the sofa had a huge tear in it, the thermostat was falling off the wall, and the lock on the door was completely broken. We requested another room, and were moved shortly thereafter...right next to the elevator. The resort didn't appear to have many guests (we checked in on a Tuesday), so we explained to the front desk that this was our honeymoon and would like a little more privacy. They indicated that the hotel manager would contact us, which he/she never did. Since there weren't many guests at the resort while we were here during the week, I guess we were thinking that we'd get better service and not be ignored. Don't get me wrong, we like our privacy, but wanted a meal or cocktail now and then, which was difficult when the hotel staff was nearly nonexistent. On Friday other guests arrived, so the hotel staff finally appeared. However, we were already packed and ready to get back to San Juan and board our cruise so our honeymoon could actually start. We wish we would have stayed home to work immediately following our wedding, skipped El Conquistador altogether, and just did the cruise. |

| The guest house was more than what I expected for the price. It was fabulous. We encourage anyone to stay if you are seeking just a place to relax after a long trip - or getting a good night sleep to be fully rested for a day of adventure. The guest house was well equipped and had all the amenities a regular hotel has. The best part for me was having a washer and dryer accessible (and even an iron!). These are some of the "not too much of a deal" things that make a big difference in life. The guest house is located in Ceiba, and is close to some of the main attractions of the island. We were able to travel the entire island, and still have time to watch TV and relax once we were back to our guest house. I definitely recommend it. |

This international travel thinks it's over-priced and dishonest. Visited: June 2009 |

| My family stayed at Las Casita at El Conquistador. It was a two-bedroom, three-bath condo. It was about $570 a night, low season plus an $80 a day resort fee. You would think for $570 a night, the price of the pool and facilities are covered. Read the fine print. I booked a casita for convenience of a kitchen and the convenience of eating some meals in the room. However, groceries were difficult (and expensive) to get. We were hoping to do laundry at the condo, as we were traveling to the BVI for sailing next. There was a hook up for a washer/dryer, but no machines. The resort was huge and the biggest I have been to with no public laundry. They will wash your socks for $2.00, though. Local calls were supposed to be free, but weren't. Drinks were like $12.00 a piece and not that good. Also, the food was over-priced for the quality. Although, the one highlight was the food at the Golden Door Spa. They tacked a 20% tip onto services at the spa, and made you pay before you receive them. I had the most expensive but poorest quality pedicure in my life for $100. I know this sounds like I am spoiled, but I work hard for my money and their prices did not justify the level of service. We are rather experienced travelers, and have lived in Paris - we are used to high prices. I could have done better elsewhere. Also, the staff at the Las Casitas desk was not very helpful, and lied about the availability of groceries. These guys just want your money. |

It was too expensive for such a horrible room. Visited: April 2009 |

| It was a large room, but the lighting was terrible. The TV was tiny, and the heater in the shower was broken so we kept burning our skin with the hot water. There wasn't even a mirror on the wall. It was worst than a Puerto Rican motel. Thank God the activities and the area made up for it. The beaches were beautiful. |

I felt like a thief in a rusty and cheap motel. Visited: June 2009 |
|
| Posted by garisons | |
| I have never felt so much like a thief as I did when I stayed here. There was no hair dryer in the room, so I obtained one from the front desk. I had to sign a paper stating that I would not steal a blow dryer, and if I did not return it, I would be charged $50.00. I was told to go to the gym and obtain towels for the pool. I also had to sign for four towels. As I entered the pool area, a sign stated that if I took the towels, I would be charge $25.00 and if I took a golf club I would be charged $50.00. I guess it was there as a message to make sure that whatever you took, you would be charged. I think it was clear already. I did not need to be repeatedly told not to be a thief. I was charged $150.00 a night and given a room that smelled so much like disinfectant I could hardly stand to be in the room. The metal ceiling pieces were rusted, and when we woke up in the morning there were black specks all over the bathroom sink. There were two beds in the room and one of the bedspreads looked as if someone had shredded the top of it. Both of the bedspreads looked as if they had been used since the start of the hotel. I am not one to stay in an expensive hotel, but I thought it would be nice to have one fancy night for the family vacation. What a mistake that was. I have stayed in room costing half of what they charged me that would put this room to shame. I would be embarrassed to have to rent a room that looked like that. |

It was terrible. Visited: June 2009 |

| If possible, I would give even less than one star. Although the view was beautiful and the owner one night served us a good meal without extra charge, this is where the positive feedback ends. When we arrived, they had forgotten that I had reserved by phone call (nothing else was possible), so our room was occupied by other people. We therefore took the second room, which, I swear, was the most terrible room I ever stayed in. I'm usually not picky about furniture or even cleanliness, I have stayed in many hostels and guest houses all around the world. However, here we had: a disgusting smell, a dead roach on the floor, and another black bug disappearing under the bed when I got up the next morning (it was too fast to be identified). Also, the place was as dirty as you couldnīt even imagine. They didn't even mind to pick up screw caps from beer bottles lying around from the last guests. After two days, we could move to the other room, which in comparison was almost paradise (nice furniture actually). Although at second sight, the room was rather dirty, too (cigarette ashes in the bathroom, empty pill packaging on the floor, and just not clean overall). And as a farewell gift, we found at the last evening that someone had drunk our two bottles of beer and 100 ml of Bacardi rum we had left in the fridge. Well, thanks a lot! |

I had a comfortable stay at Club Cala De Palmas. Visited: May 2009 |

| I just returned from a great time at Club Cala. Our party of six adults and two kids. We had a three-bed unit and a one-bedroom unit right next to each other and overlooking the harbor. What a great renovation. The room had all granite countertops and stone floors. It was very clean, and had very comfy beds and linens. The staff was very helpful and check out was fast. This was our second stay here in three years, and we can't wait to go back again! |

| The pictures are not updated. They have done a lot to this place. They have very clean pools. The units are old but nice. It is a lot bigger than the pictures show. The food was fine in the resort area. They had great pizza. Also, the staff was really nice and helpful. It was not a five-star place, but we enjoyed our time here. |

Don't leave any valuables in the room, and don't order frozen drinks. Visited: February 2009 |
|
| Posted by tanama | |
| I checked out at 7 pm, then came back at 8 pm because I left my $400 i-phone in the room. They even had the identity and proof that a housekeeper entered the room and didn't clean anything. However, they said I couldn't claim anything was stolen because I left it in the room (and that it should have been in the vault). It was a $900 a night villa. I expected another response from the hotel. On an other occasion, I ordered a frozen drink from the infinity poolside restaurant service. When I finished the drink, there was a hair all tangled up with the cherry. It was so disgusting! Well, they made me pay for it! I still get disgusted when I think of it. They don't seem to care much about customer service and satisfaction. |

| My family and I stayed at the Ceiba Inn in 2006. We are returning this year. It was very clean and relaxing. The kids loved the breakfast and banana trees. If you have a rental car, this place is in the perfect location to go anywhere in Puerto Rico. It's a bargain! |
