I do not recomend this plase at all is not a home away from home is a hell away from home pitty I went back because of the young lady they had in charge but I guss she realized who she was working for and left. they will never see me there again. do not be taken by them. | |

| I had never been to Puerto Rico before, but after staying at Villa Montana Beach Resort, I never wanted to leave. This place was truly paradise! Throughout our stay I felt like my boyfriend and I were on our own private island of romance. Seriously, the landscapes could be out of a magazine. The people working at the resort were extremely friendly and caring. Our villa was constantly kept clean. We noticed the beach, pool and restaurant were also cleaned every morning. This resort is not small by any means. We would take long afternoon strolls through the gardens, and barely see anyone. Some couples and families were here and there enjoying their paradise, too. I miss this place so much. I think I have never been happier to be somewhere other than home. |

| My family and I have stayed at various hotels all over. When we booked Golden Sands, the reviews were all very positive so we decided to stay. However, our stay was far from pleasant. Once we checked in, we decided to go to the pool, only to realize once we got out we could not receive towels at the towel hut. They claimed this was only for Embassy guests. It was absurd to have to take my asthmatic son through the lobby to get these at the front desk, but they assured me this was not this way on weekends. I also tried to purchase a flotation device and could not purchase it with my room key. This was also for Embassy guests only. Again, I needed to go back to the room to retrieve cash. When Saturday rolled around, the towel cabana once again did not want to distribute towels (even though they said they would be able to on the weekend). It was very disappointing, seeing that every time I had to leave my five-year-old son alone while I went to the lobby to retrieve a beach towel. Our toilet backed up three times. We called a plumber every time. After the third time, they advised us to place all toilet paper in a waste basket. Also, the room had a extremely worn and dirty carpet. The maid service only came in every other day instead of daily, which is the norm. We requested room service for breakfast, but they did not have any room service until 11:00 am. I went down to the restaurant to bring up breakfast for my children who were still asleep, and they refused to let me do so. Everyone had to come down to the restaurant. By the time I went to alert the family, which was ten minutes, breakfast was over and we had to wait until they opened for lunch at 12.30. At the only restaurant there, we could only pay with credit card or cash and not room key. So, again, I had to leave the restaurant go to the room and get my credit card. We could not understand that because it is all one building. There were so many restrictions between Embassy and Golden Sands AKA Aquarius. It was a very inconvenient stay, and the staff advised me this was because Golden Sands was a time share and Embassy was a hotel, although the same attached building and use the same amenities. It made us feel as if we were being discriminated because we stayed at Golden Sands. I booked a hotel. If there are other legalities within the hotel organization, it should not reflect upon the guests. We have never stayed at a resort where everywhere you went there was a different attitude when you said you were staying at Golden Sands. In my opinion, the guests should be treated the same. There should be no difference from one building's guests and the other. I would have requested my money and early check out back. However, when I spoke to Carmen Cordero, she refused. I saw no other choice but to advise you and finish the remainder of my stay. Please keep this in mind when reviewing your policy for Golden Sands. No one wants to go on vacation to be treated indifferently and rude. You go to relax and have no worries, not carrying any wallet, or worrying about towels, etc. |

| My wife and I recently spent the weekend in Villa Montana for a close friend's wedding and loved the place! The service was impeccable, the staff truly catered to our every needs, and we felt very welcomed. Our whole wedding group - a party of about 85 - stayed in the beachfront villas (where we got a great group discount). It was close to the Eclipse restaurant. Nothing beats waking up to the sound of the waves and having an awesome breakfast with such a stunning view. We loved this place and recommend it to anyone. |

| The price was reasonable, and the staff was increadibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also included. It was across the street from a surfing beach, with a swimming beach just a block away. Only a pool, a firmer mattress, and AC in the second bedroom would enhance it. I loved this place! |

Don't stay at Villa Palmyra in Vieques. |

| Villa Palmyra is very run down. We stayed one night and requested a refund of 50% of our ten-day fee. No such luck. We were out the entire amount and moved onto a new place that was much better, for the same total rental fee. I suggest you look around and don't stay at Villa Palmyra. They have a small pool, it's difficult to use the gate, and just not worth it. |

| I decided to book a long weekend in Villa Montana this summer when my fiance and I traveled to Puerto Rico for him to meet my grandparents for the first time. I'm from the west side of PR, and wanted to pick a nice location close to my grandparents' home. I was really happy I picked this resort. My fiance had some reservations about visiting Puerto Rico. The place was really more than we expected, and certainly more than we paid for! There were two pools and two restaurants. Honestly, there was so much to do at the resort we were sad to leave without having tried everything. The beach was wonderful, but a little rough this time of year for little ones. The main restaurant located in front of the beach was just great. We ate breakfast there every morning, and brought my parents and grandparents one night for dinner. The service was a little slow for my fiance, but we all agreed the food was incredible! We didn't spend as much time as we wanted in the resort. After all, the point was to meet the family, not vacation. However, we loved the place so much we recently contacted the sales department in consideration to host our wedding there! If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful stay, this is place to go. The worst part for us was having to leave! I hope this helps. |

| The front desk lady was very rude. She sounded bothered if I asked her a simple question. She was very condescending, and seemed to be there all day, unfortunately. The bathroom smelled awful and had mildew and mold stains on the door and walls. Also, the sheets smelled weird. It was as if someone had laid on them before. Stray cats and dogs ran through the hotel. I made no complaints because I didn't want them to put them in kennels and ship them off to a kill shelter like I believe they did to some dogs I saw when I first arrived. The dogs cried all afternoon as they sat in cages in the burning sun. Besides the main front desk woman, the rest of the staff were nice and very helpful. It was near the beach, too, which meant nice cool breezes at all times. This was a no frills room. If you're just looking for a place near the beach to lay your head, this is fine. |

| My wife and I stayed at one of the villas and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Since we stayed in the low-season, it seemed as though we had the resort all to ourselves. The villa was as advertised, the resort itself was beautiful and the staff at the villas were very nice. I would recommend you rent a car, if possible. It's just a lot cheaper to leave the resort for your meals than it is to stay and pay resort prices. Bottom line, my wife and I will be going back. |

This was our honeymoon? Visited: October 2008 |
|
| Posted by velmapu | |
| When we checked into our room, we found the sofa had a huge tear in it, the thermostat was falling off the wall, and the lock on the door was completely broken. We requested another room, and were moved shortly thereafter...right next to the elevator. The resort didn't appear to have many guests (we checked in on a Tuesday), so we explained to the front desk that this was our honeymoon and would like a little more privacy. They indicated that the hotel manager would contact us, which he/she never did. Since there weren't many guests at the resort while we were here during the week, I guess we were thinking that we'd get better service and not be ignored. Don't get me wrong, we like our privacy, but wanted a meal or cocktail now and then, which was difficult when the hotel staff was nearly nonexistent. On Friday other guests arrived, so the hotel staff finally appeared. However, we were already packed and ready to get back to San Juan and board our cruise so our honeymoon could actually start. We wish we would have stayed home to work immediately following our wedding, skipped El Conquistador altogether, and just did the cruise. |

Luquillo Sunrise Beach Inn provides relaxation - at a price. Visited: August 2009 |
|
| Posted by geothrm | |
| Compared to the rooms, services, and amenities of other hotels in the San Juan area, the price here is outrageous. But you're not paying for that, you're paying for the view and proximity to the beach. Even though the beach in front of the hotel is not worth visiting, it is pretty. The rooms look cheap, but they are clean and furnished with the necessities. The atmosphere is casual and laid back, as are the staff. Free breakfast on the terrace is fresh and relaxing. Given the view and the atmosphere, it would almost be worth it, if there weren't constant reminders to turn off electrical devices (including A/C) if you leave the room. You would think, at these prices, you could keep your room cool. |

This was a great place to stay, but service could be better. Visited: August 2009 |

| I had never stayed in this resort, but once I was there I really enjoyed it. The villas were nice, and the atmosphere in the resort was calm and relaxing. What I liked about the resort was how spread out everything was so that you didn't feel everyone was on top of each other. You can enjoy the vacation and feel like you're the only person there. The only thing that disappointed me was their slow response when it came to service. We needed hangers for the clothes, the phone line was dead, and the refrigerator made too much noise to the point we had to turn it off at night to be able to sleep. We arrived on a Thursday evening and notified them of these problems on Friday morning. Regardless, none of the things were fixed by the time we left - Sunday at noon. I know we're there for a long weekend, but some kind of follow-up or effort would have been great. |

| The guest house was more than what I expected for the price. It was fabulous. We encourage anyone to stay if you are seeking just a place to relax after a long trip - or getting a good night sleep to be fully rested for a day of adventure. The guest house was well equipped and had all the amenities a regular hotel has. The best part for me was having a washer and dryer accessible (and even an iron!). These are some of the "not too much of a deal" things that make a big difference in life. The guest house is located in Ceiba, and is close to some of the main attractions of the island. We were able to travel the entire island, and still have time to watch TV and relax once we were back to our guest house. I definitely recommend it. |

| This is the best place to stay in Puerto Rico! It is great for weddings or any activity. My brother got married here, and it was a dream wedding experience. It is nice, and very private. The villa is beautiful, and equipped with everything that is top of the line quality-wise. Stu, the owner, is very friendly and cooperative. He provided everything we needed. I loved it, and I want to go back. If you book a night here, you won't regret it. |

Never stay at Mojacasabe Villas at Cabo Rojo. |
|
| Posted by miriamcruz | |
| The vacational center's website www.mojacasabe.com is totally misleading. It indicates you can enjoy wireless Internet, air conditioning, swimming pool, microwave, etc. That is not true. Once I got here, I had to wait at least half an hour until the only employee could come over to ask how she could help. While the office was full of people waiting to check in, the administrator and wife did nothing to help the front attendant with the process. Overall, it took me 1.5 hours to check in (and I was the first one in line ). When the employee took us to the apartment, that's when we were first told the air conditioning was available from 7 pm-9 am. We had to melt down inside the room or at the pool/beach where no shade was available. Also, we had to get out of the pool from 12-2 pm, and it closed at 7 pm. After 7 pm, there was nothing else to do except play pool because the beach was pitch black (no night lights available). As unsatisfied customers, we talked to the administrator (he arrived to the site super late) to see what arrangements could be made since all this information was not provided to us (or any guest) in any way (phone, mail, website) until we arrived. We (a family group of 29) were very much mistreated and asked to abandon the place (it was almost midnight). Of course our money was refunded, but at that expense. The administrator preferred this to letting us have air condition on during the day. They even called the police (guess they thought we would destroy the five guest houses we had rented for two nights and three days). Thank God we had this terrible experience because we moved to the Quality Inn-Tuque at Ponce, and it is awesome. It was a great place to stay. We were treated with true respect. The price was absolutely great and worth every penny. I suggest you never stay at this place. It was not worth a single penny, and was a big fraud. We received no hospitality or respect. Most importantly, we seemed to always have to fight for our rights here. |

| My husband and I just returned from staying here for four days. We were checked into a room with broken air conditioning. The front desk quickly placed us in a new room. The only problem was that they gave us a room already in use. We used the key and opened the door to walk in on other guest. So, back to the front lobby and this time we got a good room. It was large and mostly clean. The hotel was at full capacity. I had anticipated a quiet relaxing trip. Instead, there were mobs of kids running the halls. At 10 pm they rode the elevator up and down screaming and banging on doors. At midnight, we were fed up. The front desk said they had received numerous complaints and were sending security. It did finally stop. We were able to hear the neighbors through the walls. Since we were placed next to a room with an infant, we could hear the off and on crying. In the morning we had no water at all. There was none coming out of the sink or shower. We were told it was because of the high capacity of people. This meant showering at night, or late afternoon. I would also have let the water run before using it. The water would come out brown and then turn over to clear. We used bottle water to brush our teeth. We did eat at the two restaurants. I would rate them as average, and not worth the $100 each we spent. You must get a rental car. It was so much cheaper, and the $20 per day cost was well worth it. I would not stay at this hotel again. Although, I don't plan on visiting Puerto Rico again, either. |
