| The rooms are beautiful, and the place is very secure. I would have liked to stay here again, but not after the following experiences. This place was located on the main drag in town and, unless you like to party until 1 am, you will not get any sleep. The street was shut down to traffic on weekends, and cars raced their engines, drunk people were screaming, and music was blaring until is all shut down after midnight. My final complaint was that the "managers" seemed to like to drink on the job. It was not a problem until they became so drunk after hours, they brought some prospective guests to our room at 11:45 pm, used their pass key and opened up our room door while we were sleeping! This was outrageous, and made us feel unsafe. I called the owner (whom we never saw during our stay) to complain that "someone" had just opened our room door and startled us awake. She said she would look into it right away, but we never heard from her again. Based on this experience, we won't be back. |

VERY Disappointing -- Confused by good reviews Visited: August 2004 |

| Nice guys, total rip off. They published one rate which we responded to. Then they tried to charge us $100 more. When we refused, they waited two months and THEN charged our Visa for the additional $100 after changing the rates on their site. Now we have had to file FRAUD charges with our bank. All this to be eaten alive by mosquitos at a place that is a ten minute DRIVE from the beach, and is poorly maintained (except for the pool, which is what you'll see in the pictures). And unless you want to stay in your bedroom the whole time, then be prepared to sweat, because there is no air conditioning (a detail conveniently left out of their web site info). Plus they were totally unreachable the entire week we were there, even when the refrigerator had quit working and our food was spoiling. Do yourself a favor and spare yourself from a similar bad experience. There are many other choices in the same area that are just as nice for the same or less money. |

| My stay here was relaxing. The rooms were very well furnished and clean. The pool area was a huge plus, especially at night. If you have a chance to visit La Paraguera - definitely go. Boqueron Bay Guesthouse was a paradise. Thanks Glen and Rolando. |

| This place is great. The owners are awesome, the scenery is fabulous and the house on a 1 to 10 rating, gets a 20. No other place in Cabo Rojo (or for that matter in Puerto Rico) will give you your money's worth like this place does. I recommend you don't go alone though, take your significant other with you; unless you're a loner. Boqueron is the ideal vacation destination for the whole family and this is the ultimate place to stay. |

Glen & Rolando were great! Visited: January 2004 |

| My husband and I stayed at Boqueron Bay for our honeymoon and had the most wonderful time. We weren't sure what West Coast Puerto Rico would be like but it was perfect for a cozy, seclusive honeymoon. There would have been so many things to do if we'd felt up for it...snorkeling, boating trips, going to different beaches up and down the coast. But Boqueron was a perfect little escape in itself. And Glen & Ronaldo were some of the most entertaining, hospitable hosts we've ever had. They even brought us some extra shrimp with cocktail sauce one day...and shared some of Ronaldo's famous HOT sauce with us. The guest house was very clean and stylish. The pool was so relaxing and beautiful surrounded by banana trees and VERY comfty lounge chairs. We couldn't believe what a great find this place was and with such an incredible price for what you get. After sharing the place with some of my other newly married friends who'd gone the "resort track" for their honeymoon, they were all jealous and wished they could have done the low-key, relaxing style honeymoon we did. We will definately return...once we get over being dirt-poor newlyweds, that is :0) Thank you SO much for all your help (ordering pizzas in spanish for us), fun conversations (places to go, things to see) and overall kindness Glen & Ronaldo! We hope to see you again soon!! ~Amy & Matt |

Mellow and Very Comfortable with Warm Tropical Breezes Visited: January 2004 |

| Our stay at the Boqueron Bay Guest House was the perfect way to begin a week of R&R in Puerto Rico. We started and ended many days sitting around the big table on the beautiful upstairs porch. In mornings, we listened to the exotic bird calls and enjoyed the warm, tropical breeze while we ate our home-cooked breakfast and drank delicious puerto rican coffee. In the evenings from the porch, we gazed at gorgeous sunsets over the Bay while sipping DonQ pina coladas. All the cooking and bartending was easy, thanks to the well-equipped kitchen and nearby mini grocery store. Four of us--two couples--wanted to hang out, have some privacy, relax in the pool and stay at a comfortable place where we could go on sightseeing day trips, but make our own meals and feel at home. Boqueron Bay Guest House was far better than home! Glen and Rolando, the fabulous hosts, have decorated and equipped the place really well and there was more than enough room for the 4 of us upstairs. (The photos of the interior on their website don't do it justice.) We drove about 5 min. to the sandy, palm-tree-lined Boqueron Bay beach and its calm, aquamarine waters, which we shared with local families and not a lot of tourists--a bonus to getting into the hospitable local culture, and still very mellow. The Guest House's location was convenient for driving to Mayaguez casinos, the Cabo Rojo light house and hiking trails, the Bioluminescent Bay at Parguera and other natural sites--it's a great part of the island! We want to go back with a bunch of friends and rent the whole house next time. When would we go? The weather was perfect when we were there, and Rolando says it's that way year round! |

| I would recommend renting the whole place. We were a group of eight and rented all three rooms for a celebration of my partner's 40th birthday. It was perfect. We loved lounging around the house and especially enjoyed the pool. It was fun to cook outside on the patio downstairs for the whole crew. We had an eclectic group and everyone was pleased with the accommodations. If you want to get away with a group to a relaxing and welcoming retreat, this is the place! |

Rent both top floor bedrooms. Visited: October 2003 |

| We rented both bedrooms on the top floor and loved it. The pool is beautiful and relaxing, but make sure Rolando turns the heat off... I can't imagine anyone needing a heated pool in hot and humid Puerto Rico! The furnishings are both nice and comfortable. We spent an entire week here and recommend it with only these reservations: Rent both upstairs bedrooms unless you are comfortable with a total stranger in the bedroom right next to yours sharing your kitchen, bathroom and livingroom. Only the bedrooms are air conditioned, so unless you leave their doors open most of the time, the rest of the apartment will be almost as hot as outdoors which, for us thin-blooded San Franciscans is unbearable! Rolando and Glen are wonderful hosts, accommodating and available whenever you need them while respecting your privacy. We loved it! |

This is the best value in Boqueron! Visited: January 2004 |

| We just returned from three glorious, relaxing nights at A Boqueron Bay Guest House. The driving almost killed us (mostly the drivers of this beautiful island), but it was worth the trip. Glen and Rolando were the most accommodating hosts we have ever had. Their guest house was designed for relaxation and we were not disappointed. We thoroughly enjoyed reading in the swing in the "open air living room" and swimming in the heated pool. Our room downstairs was well-equipped with all the comforts of home (and then some). We loved it and felt as if we had found our own private sanctuary! We highly recommend a getaway here. |

A pool room is a must! Visited: November 2003 |

| I cannot recommend A Boqueron Bay Guest House highly enough! My husband and I spent two weeks celebrating our honeymoon and his birthday all over Puerto Rico, Culebra, and Vieques last November-December. We really loved all six of the different places we stayed, but A Boqueron Bay Guest House was the nicest, and for one reason. Our hosts, Glen and Rolando, put more care and work than anyone into making their guest house and our stay there as lovely as possible. The house was a little tricky to find at first, but beautiful. Definitely check out their website, but remember that the place was even better than it looked in their pictures. It was equipped with a pool table, washer/dryer, big cable TV/VCRs and an extensive homemade video library. The kitchen/dining room/living room with porch swing was situated on a clean, sunny lanai overlooking their pretty yard. But the highlight was definitely the gorgeous pool in back! By the time we arrived, we had spent ten days basking on some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, but we still couldn't resist lingering there. Their gracefully curved pool featured tile trim, a little mermaid, an everflowing rock fountain, and a computerized colored light system, not to mention innumerable comfy deck chairs and lounging areas, a bountiful supply of thick clean towels, a poolside stereo, and an outdoor shower. Glen and Rolando live right up the street and were thorough hosts, very friendly and eager to hear our feedback and to describe further plans for the place (including a gazebo in the yard next to the pool). Their company was delightful (especially as another gay couple), but they proved equally adept at affording us privacy while discreetly collecting any slightly used towels and laying out clean ones. It made for an inviting romantic weekend (we wished we could have stayed longer) but also seemed perfect for entertaining. There were many more places to sit or lounge than the two of us could get around to. We didn't much care for the restaurants we tried, but were more than happy to make our own meals at the guest house and spend more time there. Although it was readily accessible to beautiful spots like Cabo Rojo, Boqueron itself was a beach town, very nice but unexceptional. What made Boqueron exceptional for us was A Boqueron Bay Guest House and all the hard work that Glen and Rolando put into making it so good. |

| The Boqueron Bay Guest House provides everything one would desire for a relaxing getaway: tastefully decorated bedroom with full bath, kitchen, decks, washer/dryer and a beautifully landscaped yard with a private pool (a mermaid fountain cascades into the perfect- temperature water). The hosts pay attention to the small details (i.e. thick soft towels, real flowers, nice stereo system, access to extensive video library, very clean, P.R. coffee, and more) that make for a wonderful vacation. Also, Rolando and Glen are at your service any time, but allow their guests privacy. The Boqueron Bay Guest House rates well above average. I recommend it highly with no hesitation. Oh, and the beach is the best! |

| A Boqueron Bay is a home in Paradise away from home. It is private and cozy. You can make it your own. They offer great accommodations on a luscious landscape. And it is only a stone-throw to the beach - or you can just spend the afternoon by the pool. What a great place to wind down! Rolando and Glen make you feel like you own the place. |

| My husband and I stayed at the Boqueron Bay Guest House in November 2003 and absolutely loved it! The guest house and private pool area were beautiful and very well maintained. They provided such peaceful, comfortable accommodations -- the perfect place to get away and relax. We also loved the open-air kitchen and sitting area, and cooked a lot of our meals right there -- very easy with the market a couple of blocks away and a large grocery store about five miles away. Rolando and Glen were great -- giving us lots of privacy, but making sure we had everything we needed. Rolando even brought us fresh coconut and taught us how to make fried plantains. We highly recommend the Boqueron Bay Guest House - and plan to return again ourselves! |
