| I had never been to Puerto Rico before, but after staying at Villa Montana Beach Resort, I never wanted to leave. This place was truly paradise! Throughout our stay I felt like my boyfriend and I were on our own private island of romance. Seriously, the landscapes could be out of a magazine. The people working at the resort were extremely friendly and caring. Our villa was constantly kept clean. We noticed the beach, pool and restaurant were also cleaned every morning. This resort is not small by any means. We would take long afternoon strolls through the gardens, and barely see anyone. Some couples and families were here and there enjoying their paradise, too. I miss this place so much. I think I have never been happier to be somewhere other than home. |

| My wife and I recently spent the weekend in Villa Montana for a close friend's wedding and loved the place! The service was impeccable, the staff truly catered to our every needs, and we felt very welcomed. Our whole wedding group - a party of about 85 - stayed in the beachfront villas (where we got a great group discount). It was close to the Eclipse restaurant. Nothing beats waking up to the sound of the waves and having an awesome breakfast with such a stunning view. We loved this place and recommend it to anyone. |

| I decided to book a long weekend in Villa Montana this summer when my fiance and I traveled to Puerto Rico for him to meet my grandparents for the first time. I'm from the west side of PR, and wanted to pick a nice location close to my grandparents' home. I was really happy I picked this resort. My fiance had some reservations about visiting Puerto Rico. The place was really more than we expected, and certainly more than we paid for! There were two pools and two restaurants. Honestly, there was so much to do at the resort we were sad to leave without having tried everything. The beach was wonderful, but a little rough this time of year for little ones. The main restaurant located in front of the beach was just great. We ate breakfast there every morning, and brought my parents and grandparents one night for dinner. The service was a little slow for my fiance, but we all agreed the food was incredible! We didn't spend as much time as we wanted in the resort. After all, the point was to meet the family, not vacation. However, we loved the place so much we recently contacted the sales department in consideration to host our wedding there! If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful stay, this is place to go. The worst part for us was having to leave! I hope this helps. |

| I had never stayed in this resort, but once I was there I really enjoyed it. The villas were nice, and the atmosphere in the resort was calm and relaxing. What I liked about the resort was how spread out everything was so that you didn't feel everyone was on top of each other. You can enjoy the vacation and feel like you're the only person there. The only thing that disappointed me was their slow response when it came to service. We needed hangers for the clothes, the phone line was dead, and the refrigerator made too much noise to the point we had to turn it off at night to be able to sleep. We arrived on a Thursday evening and notified them of these problems on Friday morning. Regardless, none of the things were fixed by the time we left - Sunday at noon. I know we're there for a long weekend, but some kind of follow-up or effort would have been great. |

What a mess! Visited: June 2009 |

| We came here for a 20th wedding anniversary and family reunion. It was a beautiful place, but poorly maintained. We stayed in a three-room villa, with two rooms without air conditioning. The villa upstairs terrace was in non-living conditions. We requested a cleanup. They tried, but it was not good enough to even be fairly clean. In the morning, our wake up call was the sound of chainsaws, and heavy duty equipment for tree pruning of the garden maintenance crew. Our villa furniture was worn and torn, and we constantly had problems with the TV and stove. All of these issues were presented to the management since our arrival, and seemed to result in very poor understanding for solutions. After all this mess, I was expecting to get out of there as fast as possible. That was not the case. Check out took almost one hour because of problems with their computer systems. Think twice before you come here. There are better, cheaper and more hospitable places to stay in Puerto Rico. |

Villa Montana Beach is Paradise found. Visited: July 2008 |

| My husband and I just returned from Villa Montana Beach Resort, and we had a lovely time. We had the chance to attend a destination wedding, as my cousin was getting married at the resort. It was a hassle-free direct flight from Ft. Lauderdale into the Aguadilla airport. My cousin had arranged through the resort to have all of her guests picked up in a town car, this saved us from renting a car but it was available if we needed it. It was a short drive, only fifteen minutes or so down rural roads, and as we turned the corner there was this beautiful Caribbean paradise. I can see why she chose it. Our villa had breathtaking views of the crystal blue Caribbean Sea, and from our private verandah we enjoyed amazing sunsets that we still talk about. The wedding was beautiful overlooking the ocean at dusk.– it made me wish that I had found this place 15 years ago when my husband and I were married. The staff made us feel welcomed, and they always had a hello and a warm smile as we passed them around the grounds. We were here for four days, and there was so much to do we had a hard time deciding how to spend our free time. My husband and I went horseback riding along the secluded beach, and also took a great mountain bike ride into lush green forests. The setting of the Villa Montana Beach Resort allowed us to rekindle our romance and get back in touch with the great outdoors. We have great memories of our trip, and hope to come back again one day. |

| This is the best site for destination wedding, with the best view on the island. It is under new ownership, and has been under renovation. They have two pools, and a restaurant. All the rooms are ocean front, with the sound of the waves, and great views. They also provide good service and a clean room. |

We were very disappointed. Visited: March 2008 |

| My girlfriend and I stayed at Villa Montana in Aguadilla for a week in March, and it was horrible. We are both avid travelers, and have gone to many Caribbean destinations. This was, by far, the worst. We never felt welcomed anywhere. The staff was disrespectful and rude to us. Nothing is more unattractive than sitting on a beach and seeing locals throwing beer bottles into the ocean. Service at restaurant was so slow, and the food was overpriced. I shouldn’t have to go on a Caribbean vacation and have to hunt down the bartender to get another drink, a bill - or even water. There was no island atmosphere here, either. We couldn’t wait to pack to go home. I suggest you save your money and go elsewhere. |

This is the best resort for family and romance Visited: November 2007 |

| Our family went for a getaway to Villa Montana Beach Resort for Thanksgiving. We wanted a quick and easy location with lots of sun and warmth. With Jetblue flying out of Newark, it was perfect. It was cheap and quick to get to Villa Montana from home, and only a few minutes from Aquadilla airport. What a treat, especially when traveling with three kids. We like Puerto Rico, but had never stayed on the west coast. Villa Montana looked like a good alternative to all the action in the east. Frankly, we were looking for more peace and quiet this time. However, the kids needed to have things to do, and Villa Montana was the ticket. They could swim, hike, play tennis, horseback ride and snorkel. Snorkeling at Villa Montana was some of the best in the Caribbean - and now the kids want to surf. My husband and I loved Villa Montana. We walked that beautiful stretch of beach. The villa was expansive and comfortable. We could cook in our villa, and some nights we cooked the kids dinner and then went for a romantic dinner on our own. We also went for drinks in the cool “O” Bar, then had dinner at The Eclipse Restaurant, which is right the ocean and lit with candles and torches. It was breathtaking. The food was exceptional, not cheap, but worth every penny. And we were never rushed. We could enjoy the peace and quiet and romance of the evening without feeling that they wanted to turn our table. We’ll be back to Villa Montana. This place really is a piece of heaven -and we’ve been around. |

We had a very pleasant stay at C9 Hatillo del Mar. Visited: July 2007 |

| We recently spent our honeymoon here, and stayed eight days in the largest, romantic seaside unit of this wonderful vacation home. This place was clean, cozy and comfortable. It has everything we needed, including hot water and air conditioner. The property was very well taken care of. The ocean view from the lower and upper deck of this place was breathtaking! There was a beautiful park by the sea, located right across the street from this home. It was very popular among the newlyweds for photo sessions. This place was also conveniently located near spectacular local beaches and local shopping malls and stores. It was also near Route 22 Autopista and Route 2 that will take you to many other tourist sights. We consider Andrew, the owner manager, a very good friend. Andy was very hospitable and helpful. He made us feel very much at home in this Spanish-speaking community. Andy also pleasantly surprised us with a fine cold bottle of wine in the refrigerator, among other things. He introduced my wife and me to some of the most popular Puerto Rican dishes and drinks. My wife and I enjoyed our stay here immensely. We cannot wait to tell our friends and families about how great this place was and why they should stay at C9 Hatillo del Mar if they come to visit Puerto Rico. When we return to visit Puerto Rico in the future, we will definitely stay at the C9 Hatillo del Mar again. We were very happy and satisfied guests! |

I had a terrible experience with the manager. Visited: June 2007 |

| We stayed in this "hotel" with my wife's family from June 22 through June 24, 2007. My wife's family arrived first, and did the check-in for all of us. We arrived later in the night. The next day, we came to the front desk to ask for the pool purses. After waiting there for about 20 minutes, my wife and I asked very gently if there were a problem on giving us the purses. The manager came out from his office yelling at us and threatening with his hands (almost hit us). With a complete lack of respect attitude, he accused us of trying to use the pool without a reservation. He asked me to pay a ridiculously high additional amount for my ten-month-old infant child. After that discussion, the trip was ruined for us. He apologized with my wife's family for his attitude. Anyway, the pool had a strong cigarette smell, and there were a lot of drunk people drinking inside it and throwing ice. I don't recommend a stay here. Partially, it was my fault, though. Some friends had warned me not to stay here. |

| I stayed in April of 2006. It was a great cozy place. It was away from the fast life. However, the view was superb. If you like the ocean view, this is the place for you. When you open a window or front door, you will see the greatest view. Also, the manager was always willing to make tuests feel at home. I will stay again without thinking about it. |

We had a wedding in Paradise. Visited: March 2004 |

| My wife and I were married at Villa Montaña Beach Resort (VMBR) last year. It was one of the most idyllic and romantic resorts we’ve ever been. Tucked away in the northwest corner of the island, away from the traffic and congestion of the metropolitan area, it was like being on its own island. The crashing waves, the constant trade winds and the sunsets all made for a soothing and relaxing atmosphere. We live in NYC, so 90% of the wedding arrangements were via phone/fax/email. New Yorkers are notoriously demanding, but the VMBR management did a remarkable job of addressing our needs and gaining our trust. They were tremendously flexible, patient and accommodating. They made our wedding that much more unforgettable. The menu at Eclipse teemed with Caribbean and international influences, the villas were delightful, very well equipped and maintained. The beach was gorgeous and unspoiled. We walked for miles and encountered very few people. It has been just over a year since our wedding, and our guests still talk about the marvelous experience they (we) all had at VMBR. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking a romantic (or not) get-away. If you’re considering a destination wedding, we can’t think of a more beautiful setting than on the shore facing the sparkling blue waters of the Atlantic, with the gentle sounds of the waves crashing. |

This was the perfect place to get away. Visited: December 2004 |

| My wife and I visited Villa Montana for three nights - Dec.21-24,2004. We travel the Caribbean extensively, and always check out new places to stay. After a 90-minute cab ride from the airport, we were greeted by several extremely nice staff and driven by golfcart to our one-bedroom oceanfront villa. The room was very nice with an adequate size bedroom and kitchen, sitting room (with a tv and couch). From the terrace, there were amazing views of the well-maintained grounds, the palm trees and the beach/ocean, which was only 30 yards away. The food and service at the restaurant overlooking the beach were top-notch. The two pools were excellent, and the fitness facility was more than fine to keep the pounds off. You can walk the beach both ways for miles. We wanted to try another restaurant off the resort grounds one night, and due to no taxis being available, one of the staff drove us and then picked us up when we called. That was truly beyond the call of duty. If you want to just get away, this is the place. Of course, there are telephones, television, etc. (and cell phones work in Puerto Rico), but it was very relaxing, and we would recommend this place to anyone. |

It is beautiful and peaceful here. Visited: February 2004 |

| We found Villa Montana on the internet and enjoyed it so much we've been back three times in two years. The beautifully landscaped, well-kept grounds enhance the natural tropical setting. Hammocks, lounge chairs and several lovely bamboo double cabanas are scattered tastefully along the beach. It is perfect for sun bathing, reading or watching the surf roll in. Long walks, along the reasonably isolated beach are refreshingly peaceful. Two well-maintained swimming pools are just steps away for those who may prefer lounging in a pool. And the beach is somewhat rocky right at the water's edge, but there are several sandy access spots. Once in the water, it is warm and free of seaweed, as is the sandy beach. The attitude and responsiveness of the management and staff to every request was outstanding. We also enjoyed some quiet dinners at the Eclipse Restaurant and Bar. It was definitely gourmet dining; a stone's throw from the water, in an incredibly unique and beautiful outdoor tropical setting. The restaurant also served a buffet breakfast during the busy season, which was reasonably priced and very adequate. We usually ate breakfast in our Villa, but breakfast and lunch were served daily. The bar was always open and served numerous specialty tropical drinks, which could be taken to the beach. Although I came armed with various bug repellants, I found the bug population much less than other Caribbean islands because of the constant breeze. The Villas were clean, well kept and nicely decorated. The one- bedroom villas were functional. All had patios. The two-bedroom villa, which we called home, was just perfect. We flew into San Juan, about one hour 45 minutes away and rented a car. We preferred to have a car available as the resort was secluded. We found Villa Montana the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. Enjoy the sun, swim, play tennis, get a message, exercise, eat, read a book. Do anything or do nothing! |

Beautiful grounds, but mediocre amenities and service for the price. Visited: March 2004 |

| My wife and I stayed at Villa Montana for a week in March of 2004. We had an oceanview, one-bedroom villa. This included a small bedroom, hallway, kitchenette, small bathroom and living room. The resort had gorgeous, well maintained grounds. There were giant cauldrons of flowering shrubs, immaculately cared for lawns, unusual trees and plantings adorned the facility, which was also teaming with tropical birds. The Eclipse Restaurant, an al fresco bar and dining area, was also beautifully designed, overlooking the beach, and had excellent - but unchanging and limited - fare. The facility had two well maintained tennis courts. There was also a climbing wall, a few plastic ocean kayaks, two very nice swimming pools, a small weight room, and riding stables adjoining the property. The surf in front of the resort was rough the entire week we were here, making it all but unsuitable for swimming by the very strongest. The beach for miles in either direction was empty. However, the neighboring stables conducted rides on the beach each day, so long romantic walks were tempered with dodging the “remains of the day” from the last horse caravan. One of the best things my wife and I did at Villa Montana was have a massage. Their masseuse was just amazing, and the table was set up under a thatched roof, out at the edge of the beach. The rhythmic sound of the waves breaking and the experienced hands of the masseuse just melted away all stress and tension of the working world. The staff at Villa Montana was pleasant and generally accommodating. However, they were not particularly forthcoming with information about the resort or activities in the surrounding area. The resort was also flawed in some very significant ways. There were, what appeared to be septic tanks located in front of many of the villas. As we walked through the grounds between units we were accosted by the odor of these tanks. It was not horrible, but for what the resort charged per night, they need to figure out a better to deal with sewage. Housekeeping and maintenance were also problems. Bathroom items were sometimes not restocked. Our sink and toilet drained poorly. There were several basic utensils missing from our little galley kitchen when we arrived. Some days they left us coffee, sometimes they didn’t. The resort provided guests with a toaster and coffeemaker but no table to set these items on near an electric receptacle. These problems may seem trivial, but for $440/night, we expected better. The resort has the potential to be a really first-class destination. But if excellence is in the details, the staff and management should follow the examples of the groundskeeper. |
