It was two stars - don't expect more. Visited: March 2008 |

Yes, Grand Case Hotel is convenient and relatively affordable. If that's what you want, fine.
However, don't expect more than tiny rooms, a so-so restaurant, narrow beach, and a lot of retirees.
It's amazing what $100 a day more brings at La Domaine. |

My wife and I stayed here five days in January 2008. We stayed in a studio with a loft that was lovely. It was up the stairs on the third floor, with a beautiful view of the water. Sunsets were magnificent!
It had a living room with a balcony overlooking the water. Also, there were a kitchen and bath on the same floor. You went up the staircase to the bedroom, which was fine - although the ceiling was low and we had to walk down the stairs to use the bathroom.
Of the two beaches available, Le Petit Plage was by far. There were lounge chairs and food and beverage service. There was a great view, with nice sand, watersports, and calm, clear water. It was quite quiet and peaceful. Also, it was nice walking along.
The other beach, Grand Case, was quite narrow with an area roped off for you to swim in.
The Sunset Cafe was fantastic! Coffee and pastry was included, or you can order a full breakfast. Also, it was very good for lunch, dinner, or a cocktail. They had good, friendly service with a great menu in a wonderful setting.
It was a very convenient walk to the center of Grand Case. We walked each night to one of the many restaurants, with one better than the other. It was a nice, easy well lit stroll back to digest our meal.
We used taxis to visit some of the other beaches, that we arranged through the front desk very efficiently. We went to Friar's, Happy Bay and Pinel which were all great and beautiful.
Overall, we enjoyed out stay here. While not luxurious, it was very nice with a great beach, Sunset Cafe, and proximity to Grand Case. |

With the great view, the staff, and the hospitality of the island - my trip was amazing as a whole. I got a chance to experience the true culture of the island.
Activities for our days included snorkeling, dining in a variety of restaurants, shopping, and sailing. Everything was within 15 minutes of the hotel - if not at the hotel.
There really is nothing like this place. We had no regrets! |

We just got back from a six-night stay at this property. This was our second stay at the Grand Case Beach Club, and again we were pleased.
The staff was friendly - from the front desk and the waitstaff at Sunset Cafe, to the Watersports guys and other staff. All were very friendly and provided help with booking trips, directions, providing us with a much-needed phone number, etc.
The (I think) assistant manager, Richard Ortega, was friendly and booked a great 12m race excursion for us before we arrived on the island.
This was a simple, clean, beach hotel in a great location. I don't advise this property for the "luxury" traveler (hence four stars not five). But this was a safe, reliable property which was close to the best restaurants, Marigot and great beaches (Orient, Dawn).
Some may be disappointed by the on-site beaches, as they were rather small and narrow. But, rent a car (you need one on this island anyway), use this as your home base, and enjoy! This would be great for couples or families - we saw a lot of both. |

Grand Case Beach Club is a fantastic place to stay. Visited: July 2003 |

My husband and I first went to St. Martin in July 2001. The Grand Case Beach Club was recommended to us by my cousin who has been going to St. Martin for the past 25 years.
He has always stayed on the Dutch side, but goes to the Grand Case Beach Club to eat. He knew that my husband and I would like the French side, so he suggested this hotel. Well, needless to say, we loved it here.
We have been back every year since, and will be here this July again. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean, and the restaurant has great food. The beach is beautiful, and the water is so blue.
This is the place to stay if you are looking for a quiet, romantic place to stay. It is not a big hotel. There is a small pool, but who wants a pool when you have the Caribbean? Restaurant row is within walking distance and if you want nightlife, the Dutch side is only about a 15-minute ride (without traffic) away.
I highly recommend this island and this hotel. |

We loved this place. There were lots of things to do - kayak, tennis and swim. Overall, the staff was friendly, and the grounds were very beautiful.
Grand Case had one of the best beaches on the island since the water was very calm and easy to swim in. Cooking in the kitchen was a nice alternative to eating out every meal.
I highly recommend this place if you want something low key and quaint. |

An immaculate, charming, peaceful and friendly stay. Visited: May 2003 |

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon (May 26-31, 2003), and loved everything about this place! The only drawback was that the signage in Grand Case was not good, so the club was hard to find. (Once you locate Restaurant Row, drive all the way to the northern end and up the extension -- the club is just around the bend.)
When we checked in, we found we'd been upgraded to a better room (a third-floor ocean-view studio with loft) at no extra charge. It was like a small apartment -- cheery, clean, comfortable, with plenty of room for us and all our "stuff" for a week.
Caribbean music was playing on the in-room CD player, and the balcony view took our breath away (you may see cranes walking along the beach just below you, late at night, as we did!)
The property was immaculately maintained, inside and out -- with colorful hibiscus and other tropical foliage, it was worthy of photos all by itself. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay, especially at the front desk, our housekeeper, security, and the staff at the activities desk.
If you'll be there on a Monday, don't miss the manager's reception from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. -- it was a complimentary happy hour and a chance to meet and talk to manager Stephen Wright and his family (he's intelligent, fascinating and well-traveled!)
The Sunset Cafe restaurant had excellent food (a little pricy for dinner, but nearly all the restaurants in Grand Case were). We had dinner there one night, and the complimentary continental breakfast every day. For our other dinners, we chose a different restaurant each night -- more than a dozen were just down the road, within easy walking distance.
The resort's small beach was picture-perfect, offering comfortable lounges in full sun and also under groves of seagrape trees for shady relaxing. The activities desk had many day trips and activities to choose from (we did the Scoobi-Doo catamaran trip to Prickly Pear Island, and it was wonderful!).
We're already looking forward to returning to St. Martin, and the Grand Case Beach Club, for our anniversary! I highly recommend it. |

My wife and I just spent five days at Grand Case Beach Club and enjoyed the stay. We believe that we received good value for the money.
The staff was helpful, the sunsets were picture perfect and the water was great. Make sure to have the ribs at the "Talk of the Town" at least once during your visit. |

We just returned from a wonderful visit to Grand Case Beach Club. Our room was upgraded and couldn't have been more comfortable. The staff was helpful and the grounds and beach were beautiful.
As we made reservations over the internet for the first time on wheretostay.com, I took a moment to reconfirm with Grand Case Beach Club directly to be sure our reservation was in tact. I heard back from them immediately and everything was ready when we arrived.
I would recommend Grand Case Beach Club without hesitatation. |

Grand Case Beach Club is a dream come true. Visited: May 2002 |

We stayed here on the recommendation of friends who are native to Grand Case, St. Martin (but live in the States).
This trip was a 10th anniversary/honeymoon-we-never-had trip, so we wanted things as perfect as possible. We were not disappointed -- it was a dream come true.
The staff was the best, we had a beautiful oceanfront room and it turned out to be more than we ever hoped for. In fact, when we arrived, we were upgraded to a better room (at no additional charge) because the type of room we had reserved was not available.
The room was full of amenities - fully stocked kitchen with coffee maker and microwave; ironing board and iron; hair dryer; air conditioning units in each room (although we enjoyed having windows that opened!); TV in living room and TV in bedroom; CD player with AM/FM stereo; beach towels... literally we couldn't have asked for better.
The furnishings were beautiful and we loved having our own balcony and patio to sit on early in the morning for sunrise and in the evenings to view the sunset.
The property itself was quiet and relaxing with two small beaches. Because the beaches were in the bay, it was more like swimming in a lake than the ocean. We loved the warm, blue water!
The hotel provided some free water sports (ocean kayaking) but also had a staffed water sports desk offering many different types of excursions.
There was also a full service restaurant/cafe where we had a nice continental breakfast offered to us each day. We also bought fruit platters and snacks to have on the beach.
We loved being right in Grand Case, the Gourmet Capital of the Caribbean! We were able to walk the "boulevard" each night to choose where we would eat -- and there were so many choices.
We can probably sum this all up by saying we can't wait to go back and we wouldn't stay anywhere else! |

Our fifth stay at Grand Case Beach Club was the best yet. We had a wonderful first floor studio, with access directly from our patio right out to the lounging area and down to the beach.
The staff was friendly and helpful, as usual. Breakfasts and lunches at the Sunset Cafe were better than ever. Our sixth visit to GCBC can't come too soon. |

A vacation nightmare... Visited: April 2002 |

As previous guests of the hotel we were looking forward to returning with great anticipation. Unfortunately, we had the most dismal experience with this place. While the property and location are lovely, we were diappointed to discover that the hotel has the ability to alter, or as in our case, cancel reservations because of their own overbooking problems. Our room was paid for in advance and our reservation confirmed, but the hotel did not honor it, giving several, inconsistent excuses as to why. This happened to other guests the week we were there as well...including some on their honeymoon. As a result, we were forced to make a decision to leave the property and stay in another hotel. This incident marred a much anticipated vacation...we will never stay at GCBC in the future. |

We loved it! It was the perfect honeymoon spot.
The Grand Case Beach Club was no glitz, glamorous resort. But it was a quiet and quaint hotel with an amazing beach right outside our door.
The hotel staff was so friendly and accomodating, too. It seemed that everyone we spoke to was a repeat visitor. Grand Case was also a perfect location on the French side. Superb French restaurants were only minutes away on foot.
In Grand Case, we were tucked away just enough, but at the same time we were not too isolated either. We can't wait to go back next year. |

Prior to my departure I read the rave reviews and wondered if they were really written by the management. They sounded too good. Well, my family and I have just returned and will vow for each complimentary statement made about Grand Case Beach Club.
Accomodations were clean and spacious. My family of five shared a spacious, pleasant two-bedroom. Don't expect plush. The water was 15 feet from our room. It was infinitely better than "oceanfront" in a high-rise hotel. A small secluded beach was just 100 feet away.
A free croissant/baguette/coffee breakfast was provided in the Sunset Cafe. The cafe sat over the water overlooking Anguilla. What others have not written is how good the dinners are at Sunset Cafe. In addition, GCBC.com offers a coupon for a free bottle of champagne with dinner.
The two watersport French dudes were extremely friendly. They made the stay so pleasant for my kids - ages 8, 11 and 14.
Grand Case was the quietest part of the island. This helped make Grand Case Beach Club a wonderful place for a relaxed vacation. The town is known for its many fine restaurants. Try The Rainbow - it was excellent.
Overall, Grand Case Beach Club was a great place to stay. |

It was our first trip to St. Martin and after researching the different resorts and hotels on the island, we decided on one week at Grand Case Beach Club. We could not have been happier with our choice.
Upon arriving, we walked into our room where we were greeted with Calypso music from a in-room CD player. The rooms were fairly standard but they were clean, right on the ocean and a small vase of fresh flowers was replenished every day.
Sunset Cafe was amazing - the staff was very friendly and the food was top notch. The short stroll from Grand Case for dinner really showcased the advantageous location of GCBC. The beach was small but beautifully maintained and it was never crowded.
If you are looking for nightlife and excitement, this might not be the place for you. If you are looking for a romantic, relaxing holiday with good food and wine and friendly people - you won't be disappointed.
Since leaving, we have been planning our return to Grand Case Beach Club! |

We stayed at Grand Case for 5 days/6 nights. It was a perfect place to stay on St. Martin. The beach and rooms are very clean and the staff is very friendly. The only drawback is that many of the staff members only speak limited English, so sometimes you have to repeat important questions a few times. Definitely rent a car - there are many good restaurants located twenty minutes away from the resort. |

We had a most pleasant studio overlooking the ocean and thoroughly enjoyed the lovely few minute stroll down to the village to the wonderful restaurants. The only one we would not go back to is Nettuno's. I would echo other people's comments about the very friendly and helpful staff - particularly on the sports desk. The snorkeling we found to be almost non-existent even out at Creole rock, but it was still very pleasant just to swim across the bay - hoping to see something! |

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Case Beach Club last October and had the most wonderful and relaxing vacation of our lives.
The hotel is perfectly located, giving it a sense of privacy and comfort. The staff is very accommodating. We had problem with noise outside of our room because of hotel repairs (as we were there in the off season) and the hotel manager put us in another room and even gave us the option of picking the room.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. I’ve never slept so well in all my life. The other nice part about the hotel is that it is in within walking distance to a ton of fabulous restaurants. And, even though the beach there is small, they have equipment for water sports, which always makes swimming more fun. It never felt too crowded and if you rent a car, you can spend the day at other beaches.
There is security there as well to provide added safety even though you never feel unsafe to begin with. I highly recommend a visit to St. Martin and a stay at the Grand Case Beach Club.

Nice hotel and excellent activities on a beautiful island. Visited: October 2000 |

My wife and I spent five days at Grand Case Beach Club (GCBC) for our honeymoon. Our stay is easiest to summarize by saying that we were sad to leave so soon. Although disappointed to go, I left feeling very happy as a result of the very nice service we received at GCBC and the wonderful people on the island.
I found the hotel to be well maintained and everything in our room, a one-bedroom, was in good working order and there is now a paved road to the hotel. The housekeeping staff was wonderful. (They even did our dishes!) The Management was friendly and accommodating. The watersports guys were very friendly. I would definitely recommend ocean kayaking and snorkeling (complimentary). Sunset cafe' was nice. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and coffee every morning. Don't expect hurried snappy service; everything is laid back and meals are worth taking the time to enjoy. Their menu was okay (I'm vegetarian) and maybe a tad pricey, but it was nice to have the option of eating so close to the hotel. Driving on St. Martin is a real blast and car rental is an ABSOLUTE MUST, and I thought Prestige car rental was outstanding. The beach at the hotel isn't very big and is a little isolated but the water is crystal-clear and calm and the beach itself is well maintained and clean. If you have not been to St. Martin/Marteen I must say that the French side is orders of magnitude more enjoyable than the Dutch side (unless you like casinos). I found Marteen dirty and a little tacky. For tourists that don't know any French, I recommend that you greet everyone with a smile and humbleness and try not to be obnoxious. Most everyone speaks English, but appreciated the effort of at least a greeting in their language. (Everyone speaks French.) I just can't emphasize enough how delightful the people were at the shops and on the street. Bring comfortable, semi-dressy clothing. Tank tops and cut-offs in town don't go very well, especially at night. The restaurants in Grand Case are expensive but the food is beyond description. Try Il Nettuno. Marigot is also very nice and very European. La Main a la Pate is an excellent cafe in Marigot on the harbor with a delightful staff; try a nutulla crepe.
Even though it was my honeymoon, I just have to say that the French women are, well, wow! So if you enjoy fine dining, beautiful people, and fantastic beaches, St. Martin is the way to go. I can't wait to go back, but with a better knowledge of French, and I will strongly consider GCBC for our next visit. |

Grand Case Beach Club is a wonderful property. The property is beautifully landscaped with tropical plants. Its private beach is great. I fell in love with the water there; it is very clear and calm.
The Sunset Cafe hangs out over the ocean and is a great place to have breakfast every morning. Staying in Grand Case you will have some of the best restaurants in the islands within walking distance. If you love wonderful French food you have to eat in town.
The island in general is very friendly and relaxed. Also, don't pass up the charter boat rides to nearby St. Barts. It’s a day trip and well worth seeing, as well as an opportunity to shop on a different island.
