We had a wonderful time at this charming hotel.
All of the staff were helpful, thoughtful, and pleasant. In particular, Sandrine and Laurent, who met us at the airport. By the time we left St. Barth, we felt we were leaving friends. They all provided much of the "charm" at this "Hotel de Charme". The team was an exceptional asset to this business.
We will have fond memories of our stay at La Banane for a long time and hope to be able to come back again soon. |

This small, charming, unique hotel was very modern. The semi-outdoor shower was wonderful. The mosquito net that covered the four poster bed was very romantic - however, the mosquitoes were not.
The welcome drink was a nice touch. The hosts were very friendly and hospitable. The toiletries and linens were upscale. I loved the thick robes and towels with tassels.
The individual cottages were surrounded by tropical gardens and were very shaded, which was absolutely beautiful. But be prepared for the mosquitoes.
The free breakfast consisted of basic pastries, juice and coffee. I really did love this place, and would stay here again. |

Don't go here, there are so mnay good and lovely hotels on this island. La Banane has misquito and privacy problems. The staff was rude and it is located in a strip mall area. |

My wife and I went to St Barths(which we enjoy every year) to de-stress with a much needed weeks vacation. We choose Hotel Le Banane on the advice of a friend, as someplace new and fun to go to. Let's just say it was a BAD choice. The rooms which look so nice in the pictures, don't show the hordes of mosquito's which apparently thrive there(are screens THAT hard to put in???). Also, the lack of ANY privacy is ridiculous(you and your neighbors will be very close, pray they don't have kids, because there were about 6 of them when we went), and while the outside bathroom looks nice, be prepared to hear EVERYTHING your neighbors are doing(disgusting, but true).
Needless to say, we tried to leave. You would think that management would be friendly and helpful, think again. While I tried offering them a free night(at 430+ euros, I thought I was being VERY considerate), they wanted none of it. They rudely told me that I would get no refund and that they held a room for me(of course they did, I booked it a whole week ahead, plus there were open rooms the following nights). In case they try this with you, you credit card company only gives them 1 night for cancelled rooms.
So, take my advice, stay away from this hotel. We went to Tom beach which was simple but nice, and then to Guanahani Hotel, which could not have been better. Oh, and as to the mosquito's, which management told me were everywhere on the island, I did not get bitten once more for the week. Don't go here, it stinks!!!

Low key luxury and tranquil beauty. Visited: July 2002 |

La Banane is a beautiful hotel for those enjoying understated elegance, peace and quiet and a friendly atmosphere. The individual bungalows are stylishly designed and the grounds and pools are similarly lovely to look at.
It is an uncomplicated place - great breakfasts on your own private terrace or by the pool. It is largely free of the facilities common in so many hotels such as beauty spa, restaurant, and water sports.
Keeping simple resonates with the style of the place, and there are plenty of good restaurants and beaches only a short drive away. It is a great place to chill out and relax in style. |

We stayed at La Banane based on a review at this web-site and we were delighted with the beautiful accommodations and the wonderful staff.
Walking into La Banane is like entering a beautiful private villa. The design is striking, yet the impression is one of serenity. This hotel is made up of nine intimate newly-renovated Caribbean style bungalows surrounding two palm tree-shaded swimming pools.
While the hotel is not right on the beach, it is a five-minute walk from the lovely L'Orient beach and a short drive from other spectacular beaches.
The staff, though, truly sets this hotel apart. Philippe, the manager; Sophie, the assistant manager; and Joyce and Caroline, two other staff members, are the most wonderfully welcoming and gracious hosts. Their restaurant recommendations are suberb.
This hotel is a gem!

I stayed at La Banane in February, and I found the "hotel" (note: it's a series of quaint bungalows, not a hotel in the traditional sense) to be very nice, but the staff to be spectacular.
Marie owns the place and she was extremely pleasant and connects with all of her guests. The woman who works the day shift was a delight. But the main person there, Dominic, a young guy from Normandy, separated this hotel from all others. He was not just a great bartender, concierge, and facilities person ... he was a great guy. And, of course, he recommended all the best restaurants, clubs and bars.
The hotel itself was a little weathered, the restaurant was closed, and the only beach within walking distance was not a desireable one. However, on an island that is overcome by its own chic-ness, it was great to stay in a place with a normal, friendly, and kind-hearted staff. |

| Like an island within an island, this is La Banane. A hotel filled with charm set amid a sumptuous tropical garden bursting with poinciana, hibiscus, frangipani, jasmine, and bougainvillea. A secret hotel just a few metres away from L'Orient Bay. A great curve of which sand that... |
