The Golden Lemon Inn was out of this world. Visited: February 2005

It was romantic, secluded, and the rooms were just like they were pictured. Also, the food was as good as any we have had any five-star restaurant in Philly.

Arthur decorated with antiques to give guests that old world charm and feel of the tropics. Don't forget to go down around 7:00 pm for cocktails before dinner!

The Golden Lemon would not be for everyone, but if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful vacation with little or nothing to do - this is your place. Bring a couple of good books. We will go back - we loved the Golden Lemon!

The Golden Lemon was just what we were looking for! Visited: April 2003

I cannot think of a better way/place to spend a wonderfully relaxing week. The Golden Lemon and St. Kitts were just what we were looking for. My huband and I are both in rather stressful occupations, so when we were looking to book this trip, we were looking for a place where we could kick back, enjoy the sun, be treated well and eat well. We did all that!

The Golden Lemon was a great place. We had our own villa with a private pool. We also had a very private deck which overlooked the ocean. I got to sun as much as I wanted, and my husband was able to hide in the shade - we had the best of both worlds!

The rooms were ecclectically furnished - some very contemporary items mixed in with beautiful antiques. The staff turned down our bed at night, which included letting down the mosquito netting - and yes, you do need it!! I would suggest bringing repellant.

The food was wonderful. Guests choose their breakfast the night before. The staff picks up your order when they turn down your bed. Whether you choose room service or the Great House, your breakfast arrives at the time you designate!

The staff was wonderfully pleasant and attentive. Lunch was selected off a menu and varied from lighter fare to fuller meals. There was a different soup, salad , and sorbet available daily. The dinner menu changed daily, and rotated every 14 days, except for a daily steak and lobster choice. The wine list was extensive and impressive with a price range for every taste. We usually did the full gamut - salad, soup, entree, and dessert every night.

And cocktails! The owner had a wonderful little tradition here. Each night, the guests were invited to join Arthur and Martin for cocktails at 7:30 pm. They were always interested to hear how their guests spent their day and their thoughts on the island. On the other hand, they offered some very interesting historical perspective - both to the Goldem Lemon and to St. Kitts.

When your dinner time arrived, the waitperson came over, and informed us that dinner was served and escorted us to our table. We truly enjoyed this part of the evening. It was a good opportunity to socailize -but not overkill.

Arthur and Martin were extremely helpful in making sightseeing arrangements for guests. We did the Spirit of St. Kitts catamaran sail and a tour of the island which included Basseterre, Carabelle Batik at Romney Manor and Brimstone Hill.

Solomon, the driver for the Golden Lemon, was wonderful - he was friendly and informative. He took the time to point out places and shared a little island history with us.

We knew we weren't going to "Cancun" when we chose our destination...and the Golden Lemon in St. Kitts fit our bill perfectly!

Memories to cherish Visited: April 2001

My husband and I had such a wonderful time at our daughters wedding at the Golden Lemon that we decided to return this past April to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.

Surrounded by our families, we renewed our vows on the deck of our magnificent villa just as the sun was beginning to set over the water.

We can't say enough about the wonderful treatment we received from the staff. They truly seemed to anticipate our every need.

The villa that we stayed in was picture perfect and the food was nothing less than superb.

The most wonderful place to spend a honeymoon. Visited: July 2000
Posted by cpatterson
My husband and I spent 7 nights and 6 days at the Golden Lemon for our honeymoon in July of 2000. It was the most romantic setting I could have ever dreamed.

The service was exceptional and the attention to even the most minor detail superior. Arthur, the owner, and Martin the manager made us feel relaxed and welcome from our first moments here.

The restaurant is one not to be missed. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere wonderful. The service from everyone made our honeymoon relaxing and very enjoyable.

I would recommend The Golden Lemon very highly.

Will return to the Golden Lemon. Visited: September 1999

My wife found St. Kitts and the Golden Lemon Resort while searching for the world’s perfect spot to get married and spend our honeymoon. We were married on September of ‘99, and unfortunately, the resort is closed every September. We were, however, able to meet and talk to Arthur Leaman, the owner, who was both charming and helpful, and we were fortunate enough to stay at one of the private villas on the property.

Our view was breathtaking, with crystal-blue waters leading to a postcard-like view of St Martin. The Golden Lemon is situated on the north end of St Kitts, away from the city of Basseterre, and many of the more "touristy" attractions. We felt as if we could better sample the local culture of Dieppe Bay Town and spent some time talking to locals outside the village market where they would gather in the evenings. We were closer to popular spots such as Brimestone Hill, Mt Liamuiga, and even met Kate Spenser, a wonderfully talented artist whose studio is down the road. We were able to aimlessly chat with her for hours while wondering around her studio buying prints, and waiting for a rain shower to stop.

The winding drive to Basseterre enabled us to view the wonderful countryside, the sugar plantations, the cheerful, smiling uniformed school children, the ever-present roaming goats, the colorful buses and taxis, and the beautiful blue Atlantic. We were lucky enough to experience beautiful weather, generous people, and plenty of sun, sea, and relaxation. We will definitely return to capture more memories of our favorite Caribbean island.
