We had a wonderful ten days here. Visited: March 2009 |

My wife and I just got back from St. Kitts after a ten-day vacation. We really had no problems with Frigate Bay, other than it was a little frayed around the edges - but clean and well tended.
The pool was large and mostly clean, and the restaurant served a pretty good breakfast and lunch - and a weekly BBQ. The bar was pretty inexpensive as hotel bars go, and drinks were in line with what you pay at the beach bars.
The bottom floor room we stayed in was a little small and next year, for marginally more, we will opt for a second or third floor room.
As far as complaints about slow service, well you're in the Caribbean, get used to it. Slow service is slow all over, and you should probably just learn to slow down. The staff was wonderful and there was always a smile and a "hello". People all over were extraordinarily warm and friendly. The hotel also had security (I'm not sure it was really needed) in the pool-bar area at night which was a nice touch.
I'd suggest renting a car if you're a beach person as the beach next to the hotel was a little dirty. The beach shacks on Frigate Bay served up some great food (Cathy's) and drink (Shiggity Shack) but it was more of a night-time venue.
The great beaches were at the southern tip, and they were clean and mostly quiet. However, it was a 6 or 7 mile drive over a beautiful undeveloped (for now) part of the island.

This is a small, friendly place that is clean and close to the beach. We (about eight of us) were here for around a week, and really enjoyed our stay.
The Frigate Bay Resort is not the Marriott, or a five-star hotel. Yes, the service can be slow. Some of us don't want the massive chain hotels where you might not be able to open your windows.
What they lack in so-called amenities here, they more than make up for in warmth and in the small, more personal setting.
Some of the staff like Lovestine (sp?) were really excellent. Maybe I am impressed because I left my ipod in my room when I checked out, and they found it and mailed it back to me internationally. |

I'm not sure what happened to the 'Traveler from Massachusetts'. I've stayed at Frigate Bay Resort on several occasions, and the only complaint I have is that the service was a bit slow.
The hotel has more of a 'family feel' than that of an international resort. It has a nice location in the resort area close to the beach, airport and town. Also, the rooms are clean and have all of the basic comforts.
I would, however, recommend the resort to people looking for a relaxing vacation rather than a business trip, as the service here can be frustratingly slow, particularly in the restaurant. |

I had a horrible experience here. Visited: April 2006 |

We planned a ten-day stay, and on our first day we went to the supermarket to buy cleaning supplies. We spent the first day cleaning - and even that did not make our unit clean. We would have gone to another place if rooms were available, but due to Easter we were stuck!
The minute a room opened up at the Marriott, we left and were very happy to do so. The entire place needs a complete overhaul -furniture, paint, bathrooms, kitchenette and the outdoor property.
We were so looking forward to this vacation and we were totally disappointed. We spoke to two other couples who were there and they felt the same way. |

We had a very nice time here. The resort was well kept, and it was in a great location.
Get a car to get to the best beaches. You can get a taxi, but it is fun to drive. Everything is very close. |

I'm looking for the bitch (school teacher, 25 to 30 years) who fucked my husband Frank Perruzza who was working on the Marroit Hotel for 1 1/2 years. He just returned and now my children and I are homeless. |

I stayed here alone for a relaxing getaway and that is exactly what I got. The hotel is perfectly situated-close to the beach and close to town. The rooms are spacious and warm. The staff is friendly and very helpful.
I loved it so much I went back to the U.S. and convinced my friend to go there for her honeymoon. I would definitely stay here again. |

This is the second year running that we have stayed at this hotel. It is in a wonderful setting, the rooms are large, well equipped, clean and very pleasant.
The staff is most courteous and I don’t think that there is anywhere nicer or more relaxing to stay on the Island, apart perhaps from the most exclusive plantation houses. Our stay was most enjoyable!

I had the good fortune to stop over for 24 hours at Frigate Bay Resort and I can only report high praise for the service provided. It is a very clean, friendly and idyllic resort - for a golfing fanatic especially!
The only let down is the adjacent beach which is basic and doesn't sport much sand (well not after a hurricane has visited). I will definitely stay here again when the opportunity arises and I need some time for total pampering. Highly recommended - especially for families - so my advice is book it now. |

Frigate Bay's the place to stay Visited: December 1969 |

We chose Frigate Bay Resort after an extensive web search of possible places to stay and talks with our local travel agent. We were truly pleased with what we found, more so after chats with other vacationers on the island who chose to stay at sites we discarded.
Frigate Bay Resort is the place to stay on a visit to St. Kitts. The resort and grounds are well-kept, flower-lined and charming. Staff were always pleasant, polite, quick to respond and seemed to think it was their sole duty to be sure my wife and I were content. We spent hours being lazy in the sun around the pool (the best on the island) or cozying up to the poolside bar. The staff there quickly became friends.
Food at the Garden Room was quite good, especially the Saturday night buffet, although we felt the prices were a bit on the high side, particularly for breakfast. A steel band played poolside for the Saturday night buffet and the manager's welcoming party Monday night. We discovered that dinner at Marshall's, on a hill overlooking the resort and an easy five-minute stroll, was the place to be. The food was fantastic, the price very fair, the views amazing and the staff truly well-trained and courteous. We ate most of our evening meals there with friends we met poolside.
Taxi rides to the golf course and to town were costly, $5 and $8, respectively, but all the drivers we met were genuinely happy to be of service and to talk about their island, its history, and where they want it to go.
We'll go back to St. Kitts and Frigate Bay Resort is where we'll stay. |
