I went to the Bird Rock Inn with a large group of scuba divers. I am a non diver, but was assured that there was a lot to do in St. Kitts.
When I first saw our room, I was shocked. It was very small, poorly furnished, and hot. We turned on the air conditioning, and it took about three hours for the room to become comfortable. Every time the maid came into the room, she turned the air off, so this was a constant problem. Also, the air conditioner leaked. I put a towel by the leak, but the floor was constantly wet.
Breakfast was included in our package. The breakfast was adequate, not great.
I was told that there had been a beach there, but that it had been washed away during the recent hurricane. The only thing to do while the divers were out was sit by the pool, which had no umbrellas, so we were in constant direct sun.
Buses do not come to the Bird Rock, so you need to take a cab anywhere you want to go. There is a grocery store about a mile away from the hotel, which you can walk to. It is safe to venture out on your own.
I would not go back to St. Kitts. Although it is pretty, all of the Caribbean islands are pretty. I found that it was boring, with not much to do. Perhaps if I had stayed at the Marriott, I would feel differently. I like to go somewhere where there are things to do away from the resort.
St. Kitts is definitely for divers. I do not intend to go back. |

Not all that great Visited: April 2003 |

After reading and hearing about Bird Rock Hotel I was really looking forward to my stay. However, I was a bit disappointed with the hotel and there was no fitness centre, no tennis court, no volleyball net and the stair cases in the block where I was staying were not lighted, thus making it a bit difficult to negotiate at night. However, the hotel is small and quiet and very relaxing and I would definitely go again. |

We stayed in a suite for five days. It was nice. The rooms were standard, and they were comfortable and clean.
The customer service was great as well. And the food was delicious - especially the banana pancakes for breakfast. If you are looking for relaxation and comfort, this is the place for you. |

We just returned from the Bird Rock and have praise for the staff members who made our stay so enjoyable. Maldean was a great waiter, and Ms. Coker, in the front office, was really so helpful about arranging island tours for us. St. Kitts is a beautiful island with very reasonable prices and the most friendly people.
The food was excellent, our room was clean and tidy, and the views from the bar overlooking the harbour were outstanding. We highly recommend this hotel. |

I stayed at Bird Rock as it was the only available spot on short notice for my best friend’s spur-of-the-moment wedding. I've traveled the world and stayed in everything from five-star hotels to tents, and I can't speak highly enough about Bird Rock. The staff was exceptional, the food was excellent and the relaxed atmosphere was just what I needed. If low-keyed, relaxed surroundings are what you seek, then Bird Rock requires your immediate attention. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a view that's simply stunning. I will return again and again without considering any others. |

Very pleasant hotel with moderate fees, nice rooms and food. Visited: January 2000 |

Nice motel at a very modest price compared to some. Doesn't have all the crowds as some of the hotels have in St. Kitts. Very tasty food and not any higher priced than other hotels in this touristy country. Very nice pool and tables, very much in use by families.
Room was comfortable but not as quiet as some, could hear amorous comments at 6 AM. No beach but very large landscaped grass acreage, large enough that many large weddings take place here. Would recommend highly.

The service was great. I can't say enough about how friendly everyone was. The food was above average and service was prompt. The rooms have a beautiful view of the ocean, although are basic in the interior. Diving was good. We saw some rays, barracuda, tarpon. We will be going back.

This hotel is one of the finest on Saint Kitts. Visited: January 2000 |

My family has stayed at the Bird Rock for the past three years and have always found the staff very pleasant, trustworthy, and helpful. My children always enjoy the pool, food (at the dockside cafe), culture and spirit of the people. The hotel rooms are thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis.
As for Saint Kitts, this country is one of the most beautiful islands my family has visited. The colors of the sea, marine life, tropical rainforests, snorkelling, scuba diving, plantations, and Sam the Man's deep sea fishing are a must to see and do, not to mention the monkeys! There are also many historic sites to see of special interest including St. Georges church.
My family and I would recommend the Bird Rock to any family searching for a place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

We stayed at the Bird Rock Hotel and were very happy with the rooms, the friendly staff and the wonderful food. We are snorkelers and the marine life was awesome. There is a scuba diving shop at the property and we went on the dive boat to the wreck of the Tau, which had some great snorkeling. We really enjoyed the hotel, and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys snorkeling.
