My wife and I spent five days at Rock Heaven and had a fantastic time. The location was wonderful, the views were breathtaking, and the house was beautiful (typical Caribbean style).

The room was great, and the hosts (Keith and Judith) made us really feel welcome. The daily freshly prepared breakfast from local ingredients was delicious.

We felt like we were at home. It was very relaxed, and we did not want to leave.

We stayed at Rock Haven for four nights initially, and found it such a wonderful experience we returned at the end of our trip for another two nights.

Judith and Keith were so welcoming and looked after our every need. The elevated position of Rock Haven provided one with spectacular views over the bay from the beautifully appointed veranda.

Also, Judith's breakfasts were to die for! The accommodation was roomy and very comfortable.

I highly recommend it. Thank you Judith and Keith for sharing your lovely home with us.

5.0 stars Rock Haven - what a wonderful end to our holiday. Visited: March 2009

After a lovely week on Nevis, our last night before flying home from St. Kitts was a real treat - thanks to the warmth and hospitality of Judith and Keith, in their beautiful home.

We just wish we could have stayed longer - especially for more breakfasts! Not only was the food excellent, it was beautifully presented and with a stunning view.

5.0 stars This is a five-star bed and breakfast. Visited: February 2009

Five-star Rock Haven Bed and Breakfast is great for all personalities - adventurous or relaxed. It is within minutes of many local eateries, the rainforest, snorkeling, the volcanoe, the sugar fields, and many more historical sites.

Judith and Keith welcome you into their home away from home. They offer good suggestions of things to do and places to eat. If you want local fare, you will get the best breakfast in town made with fresh herbs from the garden and cooked by Beverly, a local Kittitian.

Each day, Camille will make sure clothes are clean and you have fresh linens on your bed. Richard, the gardener, tends to the beautiful landscape surrounding Rock Haven.

We enjoyed our wee- long stay here immensely!

Judith and Keith Blake couldn’t be more friendly or thoughtful. They opened their lovely home to us fully. Judith had a phone in her study that allowed free calls to the US and Canada, among other places. As if this weren’t enough, wireless access to the Internet was also provided without charge.

Rock Haven sits high on a hill overlooking Half Moon Bay. The views of both the Atlantic and Caribbean are beautiful, and the sunrises over the Atlantic are just gorgeous. The house is lovely, and surrounded by beautiful, well maintained gardens.

We stayed in the first floor suite, which consisted of a spacious bedroom with a king sized bed, love seat, phone, cable TV and walk-in closet. In addition, there was a full kitchen and spacious full bath.

The covered patio had a table with four chairs, two sling chairs for relaxing or reading, and looked out onto the gardens. We referred to this area as our sanctuary because we felt like it was our own separate world. The room was cleaned daily - including all used dishes washed, dried, and put away.

Breakfast was served daily on the second floor veranda, and was a delicious work of art. We loved our stay, and hope to return soon.

5.0 stars We had a great stay at Rock Haven. Visited: March 2008

We are back home in England. It was six degrees centigrade and cloudy when the plane touched the tarmac – a stark contrast to the breathtaking, sunny, sea and mountain views from the veranda of Rock Haven!

Thank you for allowing us to stay at your quiet and peaceful bed and breakfast home. The welcome couldn’t have been more inviting.

We enjoyed the breakfasts. They beautifully presented with real cotton serviettes and place mats. They were also delicious, with a variety of fresh fruits, cooked breakfast, freshly baked hot bread rolls and lip -smacking homemade jams, all served on the ocean view terrace.

We were pleasantly surprised that a laptop with free Internet access was provided. That saved us looking for an Internet café.

Rock Haven itself was beautiful, and reminded us of homes you see on historic film sets, with jalousie windows flung wide open to the fresh air and not a pane of glass in sight – wonderful!

4.0 stars We had a fantastic visit -an unbeatable value! Visited: June 2005

We went to St. Kitts in June 2005. I traveled with my wife and my two sons (ages four and two). Five minutes from the airport, Rock Haven was truly in the best location on the island. It was less than ten minutes from Basseterre and a nice beach. It was right at the crossroads for the eastern, northern, and southern routes used to drive the island. Hertz was right up the street, and they will come pick you up when you are ready to rent.

We stayed downstairs in the larger of the two guest rooms. The bathroom was quite large and had a clean shower with good water pressure. Personally, I just used the “hot” water, which never seemed to get as hot as I’d like, but wasn’t too bad.

The kitchen had a fridge, stove, and microwave. There was no dishwasher. The main room had two smaller beds pushed together to make a king, and another bed that was basically a cot with a larger mattress thrown over it. Overall, the room was much bigger than I expected, and had a large walk-in closet. The entrance to the room was right off of a very breezy patio, underneath the balcony, where breakfast was served.

When we left, this room was being upgraded to a normal king size bed and some other improvements. Our room had a small TV, “US” power outlets, a phone for local calls, and two fans (no AC!).

Ms. Judith was a fantastic host for us during our stay. Her two-person staff was very quiet, but always helpful and service-oriented. One thing Rock Haven’s website didn’t mention was that they provided beach towels and even did our laundry!

Every meal started with some fresh fruit (various types) with a very nice presentation. The days we stayed, the meals were: eggs with peppers, saltfish and plantain, banana pancakes, fried fish, and cheese omelets. The homemade bread was awesome, and we often polished that off every day. The portions weren’t huge, but adequate.

For a room like this - and a great breakfast every day, you simply cannot beat the price! This was a fantastic place to spend a week of exploring and relaxation. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to spend a few days. Our host made our stay very enjoyable. If we ever go back to St. Kitts, we’d spend a few nights there and a few nights at a more upscale plantation inn (for the pampering).

Pros

Ms. Judith was a fantastic host and was so friendly we could not help but enjoy our stay. Also, the food quality and presentation was great. The value for the price was a bonus. In addition, we enjoyed the cat, Angel.

Cons

There was no air conditioner in the rooms. Also, there was little childproofing. For example, the steps on to the balcony had no railing on one side. Also, there was no pool.

Rock Haven offers gorgeous views of both the Atlantic and the Caribbean from their huge veranda. The veranda offers a hammock, rocking chair, day bed and table where you will be served a homemade, delicious breakfast.

We had a private room and bathroom, as well as access to the laundry, main kitchen and living room. They also had a unit with a private kitchen, patio and entrance.

It was so beautiful and peaceful at this home, which we practically had to ourselves. The owners were wonderful, and also made the popular homemade ice cream for the island.

We did not have a car, but there was a convenient taxi service they recommended which worked out quite well. Staying here was the highlight of our trip.

The views were beautiful. The breakfasts were to die for. Our hosts made our stay warm and friendly. In addition, the price was unbeatable.

The location was convenient to area sites. You will need transportation, though. We used a scooter which was fun - but you cannot escape the sun.

Overall, this was one of our best island vacations.
