It's a very nice resort, but will be much better in a few years. Visited: August 2009 |

| We just got back yesterday. We stayed in the timeshare part of the resort in a two-bedroom overlooking the pool and the beach (unit 8301). The resort was very nice. We liked it a lot. The only thing that would keep me from going back again soon was the food. Since we were in a villa with a full kitchen, we thought about going to the grocery store the first day and loading up on food. However, being at a Marriott resort, we didn't feel pressed to do so. Most Marriotts have a store at the resort where you can get most necessities if needed. St. Kitts did, too. However, it did not have anywhere near the selection of food and snacks we have seen at other Marriott resorts. The best meal I had was the breakfast buffet. It was quite good but cost about $20 each. A Marriott burger was $15, and skirt steak (cheap cut of meat) at the Royal Grill was $32 each. For two people eating at the resort every day we spent close to a thousand dollars. That included occasional drinks at the bar (just smoothies we don't drink alcohol). If you had wine with your meals you could double that. We did venture out one night to the Shiggity Shack. That was a good fun place. They had live music and good food. It was still a little on the expensive side, but not as bad as the hotel. One thing you have to keep in mind is until 2005 St. Kitts was a sugar cane based economy. They do not have a lot of experiance being a service based economy. I will give them "A" for effort. They are still learning. |

This is the best place I have ever stayed. Visited: July 2009 |

| I brought my family here for a week-long vacation, and we loved it! The staff was excellent. When I checked in, the bellhop (Bruce) looked at our room assignment and knew it would be too hard for my mother to stay in the room we were given (she has trouble walking). He promptly got us a room in the main building, which was excellent. At one point during our stay, mom (who has Alzheimer's) got away from us. We contacted security, and they found her very quickly. It was a big relief. Everything about the hotel was top notch. Any need I had was met immediately. This is a great place! |

It was our best holiday ever. Visited: March 2009 |

| We spent two glorious weeks at this paradise, and it was remarkable in every way. If you are looking to get away from it all in a casual setting with style, elegance and every attention to detail, then this place is a must. We have traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, and we have never stayed at a place where everything was so "right." The warm welcome, stunning setting, beautiful and spacious room, the friendly/efficient/warm staff, charming house pets, and delicious food. We wish we were there now. We didn't know much about St Kitts, other than BA recently started service from London. After learning about Ottley's and St. Kitts, we had high expectations. There was not a moment of disappointment. Thank you to everyone, particularly to King Arthur, his "Guenevere" and Karen for making us feel so welcome and for creating such a special oasis. Additional thanks to Florie, Marcus and Melba in the restaurant, Dexter the driver, all of the office gals who sorted out our every whim. We are looking forward to returning in 2010. |

Ottley's provided the perfect setting for our daughter's wedding. Visited: May 2009 |

| The Ottley's Great House was impeccably furnished as were the cottages. Also, the entire grounds were simply beautiful. We could not have asked for a more spectacular setting for our daughter's wedding. The entire staff at Ottley's was friendly and anxious to please us. We appreciated the excellent service and attention to details. The chef created every meal to perfection, and the meals were presented in superb fashion by a professional wait staff. The wedding planners, Nancy and Karen, coordinated every last detail of our special events. Their team of professionals not only provided a manicured landscape for the outdoor ceremony, but beautiful floral arrangements, delicious food, and excellent musicians. The dance band's performance was outstanding and appreciated by all our guests. Accolades to the entire team at Ottley's! We recommend Ottley's Plantation Inn to anyone looking for a perfect location for a destination wedding or for a relaxing vacation. |

Rock Haven should not be missed. Visited: March 2009 |

| We stayed at Rock Haven for four nights initially, and found it such a wonderful experience we returned at the end of our trip for another two nights. Judith and Keith were so welcoming and looked after our every need. The elevated position of Rock Haven provided one with spectacular views over the bay from the beautifully appointed veranda. Also, Judith's breakfasts were to die for! The accommodation was roomy and very comfortable. I highly recommend it. Thank you Judith and Keith for sharing your lovely home with us. |

| We just came back from St. Kitts, and did a lot of driving on the island. One of the places we were anticipating to see was the Ottley's Plantation Inn. While my husband and I took a ride over to check out the plantation one day, we ran into the owner on our way in. She welcomed us and said to enjoy the grounds and the drinks. However, as we came across a staff sitting at a table, they never got up or offered to assist us. Needless to say, we left. On our way out, we ran into the owner and she was not happy about our experience. A couple of days later, we returned to have dinner, and we spent a good deal of money. The food was good, but they served very small portions. The head waitress was an angry woman with a cold, and she was not nice to us. As a matter of fact, I suspect she coughed on my food because three days later, I got sick with a cold and I haven't had a cold in years! When our bill came, I pulled out my little calculator to figure out the EC vs. US money. The waitress walked by and abruptly asked "Is there a problem?" in a loud tone. For the money we spent, I wouldn't advise anyone to come here. |

We had a wonderful ten days here. Visited: March 2009 |

| My wife and I just got back from St. Kitts after a ten-day vacation. We really had no problems with Frigate Bay, other than it was a little frayed around the edges - but clean and well tended. The pool was large and mostly clean, and the restaurant served a pretty good breakfast and lunch - and a weekly BBQ. The bar was pretty inexpensive as hotel bars go, and drinks were in line with what you pay at the beach bars. The bottom floor room we stayed in was a little small and next year, for marginally more, we will opt for a second or third floor room. As far as complaints about slow service, well you're in the Caribbean, get used to it. Slow service is slow all over, and you should probably just learn to slow down. The staff was wonderful and there was always a smile and a "hello". People all over were extraordinarily warm and friendly. The hotel also had security (I'm not sure it was really needed) in the pool-bar area at night which was a nice touch. I'd suggest renting a car if you're a beach person as the beach next to the hotel was a little dirty. The beach shacks on Frigate Bay served up some great food (Cathy's) and drink (Shiggity Shack) but it was more of a night-time venue. The great beaches were at the southern tip, and they were clean and mostly quiet. However, it was a 6 or 7 mile drive over a beautiful undeveloped (for now) part of the island. |

Rock Haven - what a wonderful end to our holiday. Visited: March 2009 |

| After a lovely week on Nevis, our last night before flying home from St. Kitts was a real treat - thanks to the warmth and hospitality of Judith and Keith, in their beautiful home. We just wish we could have stayed longer - especially for more breakfasts! Not only was the food excellent, it was beautifully presented and with a stunning view. |

There's not much to do here. Visited: November 2008 |

| I went to the Bird Rock Inn with a large group of scuba divers. I am a non diver, but was assured that there was a lot to do in St. Kitts. When I first saw our room, I was shocked. It was very small, poorly furnished, and hot. We turned on the air conditioning, and it took about three hours for the room to become comfortable. Every time the maid came into the room, she turned the air off, so this was a constant problem. Also, the air conditioner leaked. I put a towel by the leak, but the floor was constantly wet. Breakfast was included in our package. The breakfast was adequate, not great. I was told that there had been a beach there, but that it had been washed away during the recent hurricane. The only thing to do while the divers were out was sit by the pool, which had no umbrellas, so we were in constant direct sun. Buses do not come to the Bird Rock, so you need to take a cab anywhere you want to go. There is a grocery store about a mile away from the hotel, which you can walk to. It is safe to venture out on your own. I would not go back to St. Kitts. Although it is pretty, all of the Caribbean islands are pretty. I found that it was boring, with not much to do. Perhaps if I had stayed at the Marriott, I would feel differently. I like to go somewhere where there are things to do away from the resort. St. Kitts is definitely for divers. I do not intend to go back. |

It's worth the drive! |
|

| After a very adventurous drive, our driver brought us to this Bar and Grill. The drive was beautiful. We saw a lot of goats and some monkeys running across the road. This place had awesome food and drinks, clean bathrooms, and a pretty nice souvenir shop. The water was breathtaking. There were huge seashells here and there on the beach. They kept the music flowing, and this just added to the atmosphere. If you are lucky enough to visit St. Kitts, make it a point to check this place out. |

| We have stayed at Half Moon Villa several times now, the last being summer 2008. We are hoping to return soon. I've rated it five stars because it simply is everything we want as a family of six. It is comfortable, accommodating, clean, and the views are to die for! Also, the owners / local manager are very efficient. I would agree with all the above complimentary comments. Once you have experienced the villa and St. Kitts, you'll definitely want to return. |

This is a five-star bed and breakfast. Visited: February 2009 |

| Five-star Rock Haven Bed and Breakfast is great for all personalities - adventurous or relaxed. It is within minutes of many local eateries, the rainforest, snorkeling, the volcanoe, the sugar fields, and many more historical sites. Judith and Keith welcome you into their home away from home. They offer good suggestions of things to do and places to eat. If you want local fare, you will get the best breakfast in town made with fresh herbs from the garden and cooked by Beverly, a local Kittitian. Each day, Camille will make sure clothes are clean and you have fresh linens on your bed. Richard, the gardener, tends to the beautiful landscape surrounding Rock Haven. We enjoyed our wee- long stay here immensely! |

| Beach House is a fine dining experience in a casual, yet upscale environment. It's gourmet type food, with a Caribbean flair. This is a nice change from the dead, simple ribs and lobster fare elsewhere (which we love, also). Come here for your special occasion dinner, and you won't be sorry. |

The place was pretty, but had some drawbacks. Visited: December 2008 |

| I just returned from a week-long vacation here. We were here for a friend's wedding. We have been to St. Kitts before, and we will be back again. We get the whole concept of "island time" and the different culture. However, this is a Marriott, and one would expect the hotel to a least meet the minimum Marriott standards. The place was not even 20% full when we were here, so our problems have nothing to do with the place being busy. We checked in on a Saturday, went out to dinner, came back to our room, and discovered we did not have hot water. Two hours later (and after being shown three other rooms in the main building that also did not have hot water), we finally received a room on the north side of the building that had hot water. If the hot water was out on the entire south side of the building, why not just give us a good room to begin with? We had another issue with no water in the room later in the trip. It seems to me, that if you are lucky enough to get a good room, you will have a nice time. The hotel is nice, and the people are friendly. However, if you have a problem, no one seems trained properly to handle the issue. If you go to St. Kitts, please don't spend your entire time at the Marriott. The restaurants at the Marriott are average at best, and you are missing out on the experience of exploring the island. Beaches to go to include, Shipwreck and Reggae Beach. Also, Thursday night at the Shiggity Shack is a must, and the best food on the island is at the Beach House restaurant at the south end of the island. You will not find better food or service anywhere in the islands. Other restaurants to visit are Ciao and Rock Lobster. The food at the Shipwreck beach bar is great, too. The beach and the atmosphere are our favorites. |

How soon can I go back? |

| We enjoyed both our delicious lunch and the stunningly beautiful view so much that we came back for dinner the same night. My local lobster dinner was the best lobster I've ever had - Cape Cod included! We are already looking forward to our next visit. The friendly and gracious service just added to the feeling of paradise. This place is a must! |

Timothy Beach Resort boasts "Old Caribbean" charm. Visited: November 2008 |
|
| Posted by stressrelease | |
| I just came back from a very relaxing week at Timothy Beach Resort. The accommodations bring to mind the simplicity and charm of the Caribbean of more than 20 years ago. The large studio unit was ample for us as a couple. Great little beach bars and restaurants are also close by - Kathy's is a definite for traditional Caribbean fare. Her jerk barbecue poultry and meat are fantastic. If one likes simple, laid back atmosphere, this is definitely a great place to be. |

I was pleasantly surprised. Visited: August 2008 |

| Based on many of the reviews I have read about this resort, I was very nervous about our vacation. I was pleasantly surprised! We did not experience any problems throughout our stay at the Marriott. We changed our room two times because of air conditioning problems - but that was my request because I like it very cold. Definitely try to request the third floor or above for great views! We actually could have slept with the doors open because the temperature got so cool at night - especially with the constant wind. The hotel was beautiful, and very convenient to get to and from the airport and the capital city. The only reason I gave four stars was because the seafood restaurant was closed for the season (as was the night club on site). The food we did get to eat delicious! La Cucina was fantastic. We had great, friendly service each time we had an encounter with a hotel employee. Yes, they were a little slow - but hey, you are on vacation! We opted for the all-inclusive plan. Again, we were nervous about this because we were told that when you are all inclusive, the service staff doesn't treat you the same. Well, at the Mariott, no one has any idea who is all inclusive and who is not! We just signed each check as if charging to our room! We did venture into the city twice - once for shopping and once to take a day trip to Nevis. |
