Q: What a great website! I am planning a surprise weekend for my husband, and would love to travel to St. Lucia. Having never been to the Caribbean, I am somewhat overwhelmed by all the information there is out there! We prefer small hotels/B&Bs and I'm wondering if there's one you would recommend in/around Soufriere. Is Soufriere convenient to the International Airport, or will I need to drive? Most importantly, we want to relax, and I'm wondering if it's better to be on the beach or up in the hills? I'd like to take him sailing, too, so your recommendations for how best to do that would be great. Thank you! Answer

A: Hands down I would recommend Anse Chastanet Resort (151). The most relaxing rooms are the ones on top of the hill in the sister property called Jade Mountain (2905). If you can afford Jade Mountain, do it.
Soufriere is about mid way between the two airports. Arrange a transfer with the hotel. You can also arrange any trips like sailing or mountain biking (recommended) with the hotel. |
