It is ideal. Visited: September 2008 Posted by jalousa We are presently at the Gateway Villas and finding it ideal. It is a great value for the money - with free Internet service! Also, it's about 5 - 8 minutes drive away from Rodney Bay, so you are not far from restaurants and shops. I heard that Gateway Villas provides a few luxurious villas with views, pool, etc. They are apart from the hotel style complex (which we are in), and we are going to see a few tomorrow. This was a great villa in a good location. Visited: January 2007 Posted by athletictraveler I thoroughly enjoyed Gateway Villas, and would definitely return. The one-bedroom villa was appropriately appointed with all the supplies one would need. It was nicely decorated, and comfortable. Also, the area was kept very clean, and the staff was helpful. Tessa and the other property managers go out of their way to make sure guests have a very enjoyable stay. Beware - it was so bad we didn't stay. Visited: July 2006 Posted by salgal5555 We rented the "beachfront" , two-bedroom villa. When we arrived and noticed there was no beach, we wondered why they called it beachfront. The road to this villa was rocky and pit filled, so you needed a four-wheel drive to get to the villa. The path to the small deserted beach was strewn with trash, and it looked like a place the homeless people hung out. Needless to say, we did not stay here. The office staff was nice when I called a dozen times to ask questions. I just felt they left a lot out. They kept half our money, and the car rental money, too. I'm now in dispute with Gateway. I feel they misrepresented the accommodations, and we didn't find out until we got here. I was told Phillip understood our discomfort, and he would refund everything in full. Now that we are back in the states, it seems to be a different story. Beware, it is not what you think. Property Reply Once a cancellation is done upon arrival,like every establishment there is a cancellation fee of which is put inplace to protect oneself. If someone feels that they should not be charged the cancellation fee,then we cannot please everyone,however we aim highly at providing an excellent, equal one on one service to everyone. Any questions we had about local customs and things, they were always nice and helpful. Our villa at Gateway was very charming and efficient. It was very much our home away from home. It was very tranquil, in a great location and with great service. This accommodation was totally fabulous. Visited: February 2004 Posted by legzus Gateway Villas, by far, was one of the best modes of accommodation on the island. It had a very tranquil, laid back and secure environment. It was a beautiful property with an immaculately kept garden, and just a five-minute drive from Rodney Bay where there were great restaurants, a shopping mall, banking facilities and dynamic night life were all available. The on-property pool was absolutely fabulous, not to mention the beach which was only a two-minute drive away, major tanning points scored on my part. Also, everyone was so hospitable, that I really did dread leaving. At Gateway, the service was tremendously welcoming. Visited: January 2004 Posted by jasieg79 At Gateway, the reps were very welcoming and courteous, and the villas were awesome with beautiful views. The rooms were fantastic with all the amenities that you would need to have a wonderful vacation. Did you find this helpful? We enjoyed our visit with Gateway Villas. Visited: June 2002 Posted by builtreal Our group visited St. Lucia in early June (2002) on a medical missionary trip. We desired an affordable, modern (newer) property to stay in, and Gateway Villa fit the bill perfectly. Each of the eight villas that our group occupied was homey, bright, airy, comfortable, and nicely furnished. It was more than we expected. All our needs or requests were eagerly and promptly met with a simple phone call to Tessa. It was quite obvious that customer service was paramount to Tessa and her property managment team. As we worked hard serving the medical needs of the St. Lucians, it was wonderful to return to the villas each evening to relax, unwind, enjoy the spectacular views and cool island breeze. Undoubtedly, each member of our group had a memorable experience and have individually stated that they would stay at Gateway Villas upon their next visit to St. Lucia. Thank you for the memories, and we hope to return soon.
