Great hotels don't have to cost a lot. Visited: June 2008

We arrived in St. Lucia the same time as Virgin Air. One-and-a-half hours later, we finished going through customs. Then, we had the long drive north and got in rush hour traffic. We landed at 1:00, and arrived at the hotel at 5:30. It was a terrible introduction to St. Lucia, and we were exhausted.

Coco Palm quickly soothed away our weariness. It was adorable, and everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We had a great corner room with a view of the pool - it was worth spending a little more for. Also, they had great air conditioning!

The pool was wonderful - especially in the evening when we had it to ourselves. It was nice to have a bar and restaurant on the property, too. The Pina Coladas were the best. We ate dinner and breakfast here, and enjoyed both. They had a tremendous jazz band on Tuesday night out by the pool and the restaurant.

The hotel was in a great location. We could walk to Reduit Beach and to great restaurants.

We loved Coco Palm, and highly recommend it. It was a great surprise!

It was okay, but not great. Visited: March 2007

I was very upset that the first room they put me in smelled like mildew and mold.

Also, the air conditioning did not work, and was a must! After complaining three times, they finally moved us to another room -which was A+.

The hotel lacked hospitality. Visited: November 1999

The hotel rooms were lovely, clean and very comfortable.

However, the service from the bar and restaurant was very poor. Breakfast was not very good, either.

The whole island seemed to have a problem with rats. I saw them everywhere.
