5.0 stars We thought it was wonderful. Visited: March 2008

We stayed just seven days, and were ready to stay even longer.

Layne was a kind person - with some serious island cooking skill. She was attentive, and made our stay super nice.

Also, the house was better than in pictures and descriptions.

I highly recommend the staying here.

5.0 stars This was a perfect anniversary. Visited: November 2007

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending our thirtieth anniversary at Brigand Hill. It was all we had hoped for - and more.

We spent our days relaxing by the pool, enjoying the fabulous view, snorkeling, swimming, boating, and exploring. Reggie and Layne took wonderful care of us, and I even got to experience one of Layne's terrific massages.

The highlight of our week was the Friday night Fish Fry at Anse le Raye.

We are looking forward to returning soon.

5.0 stars Brigand Hill is bliss in St. Lucia. Visited: November 2006

We spent five days at Brigand Hill in November 2005. I can't remember a more beautiful, laid back, scenario than we experienced here.

The room we were given was dreamy - a paradise to ourselves. Layne, who took care of us, also prepared delicious food. On top of that, she did wonderful massages, which we partook of every afternoon.

We toured the island, lolled by the pool, snorkeled, ate lunches and dinners at local restaurants when not at home. The snorkeling was the best I've ever done in that inviting warm water. The beach was reachable by car through a bumpy, typical island road. But once there, we loved it.

Altogether, it was a great time in a very private home on a lovely island. Brigand Hill is perfect for a quiet getaway. It has everything - and you can do nothing.

But, we toured, snorkeled, ate, and then always came back to to our heavenly room with the pool overlooking the rain forest right outside our door. Brigand Hill is a treat.

5.0 stars This was a fabulous private spot in the Caribbean. Visited: January 2006

I've been to Brigand Hill on two occasions. It is the most gorgeous place, and with a great view over the Caribbean Sea.

It is private, but close to restaurants, villages and towns. It is just a short walk to a private beach.

They also offer great hospitality and food. I can't wait to get back.

5.0 stars Brigand Hill is a jewel by a valley. Visited: December 1969

Like St. Lucia, the island where it is hidden, Brigand Hill will soothe the most stressed soul.

Perched on the shoulder of a small canyon tucked in the mountains, the only visitors are frequent birds that inspect you, and the occasional cow that ignores you as it grazes along the canyon floor.

There is plenty of privacy – five bedrooms each with its own entrance and view of the valley. Once a working plantation (bananas was the prime product), it is easy to imagine those days long ago as you relax in the breeze of the open air dining room. But you will be quickly reminded of today’s good fortune by the swimming pool a few paces away.

Unless you are hiding out, you will need a car at Brigand Hill to snorkel at the charming cove some five minutes away; to launch your assault on the Pitons, the twin seaside jewels of St Lucia – down the coast about six miles; or to mingle in the evenings with the locals at Anse la Raye, a friendly village with great fish and lobsters on Friday night.
