A beautiful place with great food and lovely people. Visited: March 2003 |

We stayed at this brilliant hotel in March 2003. We loved it from the moment we arrived. We have never met such friendly staff before during our many stays in the Caribbean.
We love water sports, and the water sports staff was all so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they gave as much tuition and encouragement as you wanted. So, "hi" to Mellissa, Chester, Sheldon, Boy Blue and Tyrell.
The entertainment was good and they played a lot of English records when there was no entertainment. It was great to listen to in the background.
The food was fantastic and always well presented. Breakfast was great as they came and took our order for eggs, bacon, omelettes, pancakes - whatever we wanted. Then it was cooked fresh for each person, which we have never known before.
Again, all the staff was so friendly and helpful. Everything was immaculately clean with some lovely little touches. The Trysting restaurant was brilliant, too. They were so attentive and the food was wonderful.
Even the reception staff was nice and nothing was too much trouble for them. They also made sure that guests never waited very long before they attended to them.
We got the helicopter transfer there and the bus back, but would definitely do the chopper both ways next time. Planes flew over a bit, as the small airport was only five minutes away, but it was not a problem.
Our only downer was that there was no tv in the rooms - sad I know, but we did miss it, especially as the war started whilst we were here and we were desparate to know what was going on.
The rooms were always clean, with plenty of towels, a coffee and tea maker, an iron and board, and cd/tape player.
The beach was fantastic, with soft white sand, loads of sunbeds and lots of natural shade. It was about two miles long and we walked right along to Sandals Halcyon (not a patch on the Rendezvous) and St James, Morgan Bay (which had a very small section of beach).
All the beaches were open to the public and on Sundays we saw a lot of locals, which was fine apart from their dogs who all seemed to be the 'killer' kind! On the beach, we didn't even have to get up to get a drink, we just stuck our flag in the sand and they got it for us. It was also great to lay on the beach and watch the sunset each night.
We were lucky enough to have good weather, and the water was warm enough not to make us wince as we went in. It was also very clear and soft under our feet.
We can't wait to go again - and for longer next time. We would highly recommend it to anyone. |

We have just returned from the Rendezvous, and it was sheer bliss.
On our arrival, we were upgraded to a beachfront cottage - talk about beach front! The Caribbean was literally ten feet away, and the view was stunning.
The cottage was fantastic, and very tastefully decorated. The hotel, in general, was first class. The staff was very friendly and extermely helpful. The food was excellent, and the barbecue night was a must.
The only downside during our week was that one afternoon the blender wasn't working at the pool bar, so we had to wait a little longer for our cocktails!
This place was brillant. We will be going back. |

The Rendevous had beautiful grounds and beach. It was the best food we've had at an all-inclusive, and the best staff we've ever been around. It had a fun atmosphere, and the island was spectacular.
Our only negative was that the gardenview rooms were in need of repair, but the premium brand drinks made us overlook that.
The catamaran trip to the Pitons was well worth the price. Don't be afraid of the long trip from the airport because its wa a spectacular drive. There were four couples in our group and we will return to the Renezvous. |

This was our second visit to the resort after being married on the beach here in 2001.
The staff was still the best and that is what sets this hotel apart from the hundreds of other places we have stayed. The same people were still here (Deano, Alvin, Neima, Anna, etc.) and they were still enjoying their work, which showed, and added to the enjoyment and happiness of all the guests.
There was so much to do (watersports, tennis, archery, cycling etc) if you wanted. If not, you could lie unhassled on the beach or by the pool. It was paradise with a cocktail!
The food was good. We can be quite fussy at times, but we were always able to find something at the buffet that suited our tastes.
We will definitely be returning again in the future. |

An excellent hotel for water sports. Visited: February 2003 |

We have just arrived home from a week at the Rendezvous, and this was not long enough.
Our first impression was that the hotel was a little run down. The rooms were basic, but adequate. They were renovating during our stay in February, but this did not effect us in any way.
After a few days, we got into the swing of things and had a great time. The staff was exceptional, helpful, friendly, polite, even lunching with us on three occasions.
The help we had from the water sports guys was tremendous. Mallissa was great, and Boyblue and Chester rescued us after becoming ship wrecked on a hobbi cat. Thanks guys, we learned our lesson! The water skiing was brilliant.
We cannot say enough. We needed a getaway, a "do what you want" holiday, and we got just that. We would go back. We ate well, though found the food a little repetitious (not enough fish!), and there were plenty liquid refreshments.
The airport we had heard about at the end of the beach did not affect us in any way. It was more the cemetery they forgot to mention adjoining the sea.!
There was entertainment each night, though we did not bother too much, prefering a walk along the beach or just watching the stars on a swing made for two. There were great local characters but they did not pester us at all,. In fact, we pestered them, making new friends.
It was a great place for a great holiday of pure romance! We would go again for longer. |

We have just returned from St. Lucia and the fantastic Hotel Rendezvous. The food was great, the drinks were plentiful, the watersports were marvellous, and the location was stunning,
The staff was also superb, and the accommodations were very good.
Go there - you will not be disappointed! |

A beautiful island, friendly people and excellent staff. The rooms were basic, but very clean. The pools and beaches were very well maintained, too. The food was well cooked and well presented, and it was really nice, just having to put a flag in the sand on the beach when you wanted a drink! |

We loved the Rendezvous. Visited: August 2002 |

We stayed at the Rendezvous during the first month of August. We had read the reviews posted on this site and saw a variety of view points.
Regardless of the rating, the one quality we encountered at the Rendezvous was that the all staff seemed genuinely concerned that their guests were happy and satisfied.
Yes, the property was near the small airport, but it really did not take away anything from our stay - in fact, it added to the fun. The reviews were all accurate as to the food - it was top notch. I particularly enjoyed the scuba diving and the staff, including Paul and Russ - they were great guys, and were very helpful.
While we had some issues with our room during the first few days, the manager more than made everything to our liking. The largest compliment that we can give is that we would go back - and will - and stay at the Rendezvous. Generally, we found St. Lucia to be one of the friendliest places we have stayed in the Caribbean.
One last point - while on St. Lucia, we had the opportunity to go to other resorts and found that we preferred the Rendezvous and its location to the others every time. We hope this helps. |

It was superb! Visited: July 2002 |

We had the most amazing two weeks - from the moment we set off from Gatwick until the moment we left St. Lucia. (I won't rate the journey home...it was long and tiring, and not being willing to leave the island didn't help).
The resort was kept clean and tidy, even the beach was raked daily. We had a garden room, which was quiet, and we felt much better than the ocean fronts, as the cottages were being renovated whilst we were there, we were far from any construction work. And by construction work, it is not comparable to the sort we have in the UK at all!
The staff made us feel very welcome. They encouraged us to take part in some of the activities, and were not unwelcome if we didn't want to.
The co-ordinators were a great asset to the resort, their friendliness and assistance were second to none..but no-one in the reviews has mentioned any names.
So this is a big thank you to Alvin, Dean, Hendy, Anna, Gee and Neimah. And also to Stephanie, Steve, James and Maria (behind the bar).
The food was fantastic, with so much choice, both on the terrace and in the Trysting Place restaurant. The diving was superb, and put our coast line to shame, both in its inhabitants and its cleanliness. I don't know about half a day, as many days as possible should be spent down on the bottom. The marine park was well worth the extra money.
The beach front salesmen were not too much of a bother, and after a quick haggle and denial, they left you alone (only to move on to the next pasty-white tourist just off the plane, with a 25% mark up on what you had just discussed!).
Our wedding day went without a hitch, the weather (for the rainy season) was in the mid thirties, and made us very glad we had chosen to come away to do it rather than stay in cold wet blighty. The only problem was wearing a suit on such a day.
I was concerned about the position of the resort at the end of the runway, but it really didn't bother us at all, the planes were fairly infrequent (or so we noticed) and small, so they didn't really matter, especially when you were being towed along at 40 mph on a rubber ring!
So...in summary, it was probably the best holiday in the world...ever (or at least very close to it!). |

We had a fantastic "weddingmoon". Visited: May 2002 |

We have just returned from The Rendezvous having gotten married here.
The luxury oceanfront rooms were excellent, the food was always plentiful and varied, the activities were all great and always made for good fun.
We chose to relax mostly. We were never pressured to join in anything.
Also, our wedding was done in a very professional but casual way.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was well worth the money. |

We are back from stay number four Visited: May 2002 |

We did something different in St. Lucia this time - we renewed our wedding vows, 25 years to the day since we met.
The dates, times, etc. were arranged by e-mail, but the details of our day were finalized the morning after we arrived, leaving us to enjoy our holiday knowing all arrangements were in hand.
We had a wonderful ceremony, with a few close friends and members of the staff we have got to know during our previous visits.
Our holiday started from the moment we left home, no fear of "holidays from hell" for us. We never thought we would be the kind to return again and again to the same hotel. As always, improvements were on the cards, although we found it as good as ever.
The watersports have been improved with what we called "doughnuts" proving a popular addition. The watersports competition proved popular and was great fun to watch if like me you prefer to be a watcher not a doer.
At this time of year the calmer waters allowed for wonderful dives, and still most dives were included in the price - not so in some other places we have been.
Each time I return, I struggle to find something new to say. We love this holiday so much and hear only good comments from "first timers" that we get to know at each visit.
I would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday, good food, friendly staff, a memorable wedding day, beautiful gardens, great bars, two clean pools, activities if you want them, hilarious staff shows, a clean beach, good weather (with showers, it is the tropics after all) etc., etc., etc.
Are we going back again - we've started saving already!

What a fantastic honeymoon! Visited: May 2002 |

We have just returned from our honeymoon at the Rendezvous, and we can find nothing to fault it at all. It was perfect - from the lovely, clean, oceanfront room and the immaculate beach to the wide variety of food and friendly staff. This resort was paradise. Not even the occasional noise of aircraft could mar it.
We would definitely return to Rendezvous again. There was a good variety of activities (although we chose to relax most of our stay). There were always sunbeds available and the pools were practically empty. You didn't even have to get up from your sunbed for a drink, just stick a flag in the sand and the waiter comes to you.
It was fantastic. |

We enjoyed a superb holiday. Visited: May 2002 |

We have just returned from 14 days at the Rendezvous Hotel, where we took the opportunity to renew our wedding vows on the beach.
The wedding coordinators did everthing in their power to ensure that it all went smoothly. The number of weddings was limited to ensure that it felt special for the guests.
The beach was immaculate and was brushed daily. The beach hawkers only seemed to chase guests on the first day or two. After that, they left them alone. The Scuba Diving was not to be missed, it was a wonderful way to spend half a day.
The food was of the highest standard, and was plentiful and varied. We never had the same thing twice (other than by choice). The staff was attentive at all times, and always remembered who we were, and what we drank. The swimming pool, with a swim up bar, was nice. It was in the shade, which was a relief at times.
The sun beds were plentiful and you could have as many beach towels as you wanted. The only down side was our actual accommodation. We had a beach cottage (almost on the beach ). It was not as luxurious as we had expected it to be. Like previous guests, we expected a higher standard than we got.
The rooms were all a little tired, and they could use a face lift. We didn't dwell on the negatives, because we did not spend much time in our room, and the positives outweighed them.
The piano bar was a welcome relief from the heat and humidity in the evenings. We made some wonderful friends at the hotel. We would recommend it. |

Reasonably Average Visited: April 2002 |
| Posted by rcfarish |

We stayed for 7 nights at the end of April 2002 in one of the beachfront apartments, a 3 storey block of about 25 rooms.
The room location, size and ocean view was excellent but the extra cost wasn't a good value bearing in mind the poor furnishings and decor. The 4 poster bed had some trim missing and broken, the chairs had PVC cushions, the bathroom wall tiling needed spucing up and the shower needed attention. The room was serviced well and always made up with clean linens and towels when requested. The staff even managed to recover a T-shirt which had ended up in the laundry for some reason.
The food in both the terrace restaurant(buffet style) and the tysting place (a la cart) was plentiful and tasty.
The beaches were clean(we watched the many grounds staff rake it every day). There were sufficient sun beds (the hotel wasn't full) but they were rather old and sometimes uncomfortable.
The beach drinks service was very good and the staff always friendly and pleasant. There were only 1 or 2 beach vendors who were more fun than a nuisance and security was always present.
We only ventured to the pool once but it seemed clean and tidy. The swim-up bar was very popular. Bar service was good.
Reception staff were courtious and friendly, the free Internet and Email service was very useful.
The watersports were great, there was always equipment available and the staff were helpful.
The diving staff were great, very competent and friendly. The all-inclusive diving was a bit limited, it was worth paying extra to visit some of the sites in the marine park.
The one big draw back is the proximity to the local airport. The hotel is right at the end of the runway. Although we only saw 2 jet flights, there were frequent small planes usually early morning and late afternoon. They are not too much of a problem but may disturb some people who are expecting peace and quiet. |

Average at best Visited: January 2002 |

This review refers to our stay for 7 nights ending January 2002.
I would probably rate this hotel overall as a 3-star, but have classified it 2-star, due to the room we had. We were in a beach cottage, which was in dire need of maintenance. During our stay we had to call maintencance 5 times. 1) and 2) to fix the cold tap (no water); 3)repair the hairdryer which did not work; 4)repair the toilet when it flooded over the bathroom floor; 5)when the room safe jammed and would not open.
The beach cottages overall were very substandard. Give these a wide birth. Whilst they have fantastic views of the sea just meters away, they are not worth paying extra for because they are so run-down.
Hotel Reception: a little rude and lazy. They were very reluctant to do things such as reconfirm our BA flights for us. We really had to push for them to do it, and when they finally got round to it, the BA offices were closed. There was also a lack of tourist info, such as street maps of nearby Castries.
But, the night reception person who greeted us on arrival was courteous and very efficient. It was the day staff who let the reception team down.
Bar and activities staff: very polite, good entertainment. A strong asset.
Food: one of the hotel's best points. The buffet was varied, and tasty.
Pools: The pools were a bit dirty, had bits floating in them, and had lots of black dirt on the tiles at water level. They did not look like they had had a proper clean for some time.
Gardens: Very nice, lots of maintenance, gardeners always in action.
Terrace bar waitresses: on numerous occassions, we found their attitude rude. We noted they addressed younger guests (circa 30) very differently from the older guests. Eg. on a few occassions, we would be asked at breakfast 'Do you want food from the kitchen' not even being offered the daily special, whereas an older couple on the neighbouring table would be addressed 'Sir, would you like some hot food? Today's special is... or you could have this'. Drinks were occassionaly spilt as they were served, with just a sorry, but no effort at cleaning up the mess, and plates were often removed before we had finished. I once motioned I had not finished, and went for my peice of melon, yet the waitress continued to remove my plate, and I was left holding the slice.
Beaches: lovely, although had to ask for it to be cleaned once, as lots of cans etc. washed up, and loungers are old and worn. Could be much nicer.
Watersports: great - good patient PADI tuition, fun personalities. Another strong point. |

Don’t let the odd one-star review put you off; the Rendezvous has a lot to offer. When we were there the coordinators were friendly and efficient. The service was excellent, the beach was clean and virtually empty and the food was plentiful, varied and tasty.
Although there is a lot you can do, there is no pressure to partake if you don’t want to. This makes for a relaxed atmosphere about the whole complex - which totals 100 units. But because the units are spread out over a few acres, it does not feel like a large hotel.
The only minor criticism we had was that we were concerned with the slight lack of maintenance on the building itself, but these were few and far between and may well now have been rectified.
To sum it up, if the situation arose we would definitely go back again! |

How can we ever "top" this holiday? Visited: November 2001 |

First impressions are so important and Rendevous scores highly. After an 18-hour journey, we were met from the taxi by smiling, friendly staff offering refrigerated towels and a fruit punch. Clutching a form and a key, we were taken to our room and told to hand in the form in the morning and not to bother queuing to book in!
The room itself, although clean, was rather small and in need of a facelift. But hey, we only needed to sleep in it! The room was made up with clean sheets and towels before 11am every day. The maid was brilliant and even-handed in a very valuable ring I inadvertently left in the safe at the end of the stay!
The staff was wonderful, particularly the coordinators and waiters/waitresses in the Trysting Place. The Dive and watersports staffs were just as wonderful and so incredibly patient!
The food in the Terrace Restaurant was very good. Occasionally the breakfast service was not as efficient as it could have been, but never a real concern.
The beach was lovely, but I wish I had been warned about the rope that cordoned off the swimming area. It sometimes had a stingy plant growing on it, which stung me severely on the first day. There were plenty of sun beds for everyone both at the beaches and the pools, although they were not the most comfortable that we have ever used. Most of the beach vendors are good humored, but we were troubled with the odd ones that seemed to think we had been "warned" against them (we had not).
We only saw and heard 4 jets leave the airport during the 2 weeks, the little planes were merely a distraction and no big deal!
The pools were lovely as were the cocktails served in the swim-up bar. The hot tub was being retiled for most of our stay, but very nice when it was finished despite not having bubbles!
There were plenty of activities to join in/observe most days, usually all done in good spirit with the very energetic staff.
The evening entertainment was as good as Caribbean entertainment gets; we enjoyed it and had many fun evenings. The resident band did a very good job and you have to see the coordinators’ energy and enthusiasm to believe it. Most evenings we adjourned to the piano bar, which really does not close until the last guest leaves. (Our apologies to barman Kim for his frequent late nights!)
The reception staff was always very accommodating, particularly with regard to using their e-mail facility.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The saddest part was leaving. We would definitely like to return some day. Enjoy!

Trust us... Rendezvous is an exceptional honeymoon resort! Visited: August 2001 |

When planning for our honeymoon, we poured over the reviews posted here and agonized about our choice to go to Rendezvous for our honeymoon.
To say we were relieved would be a huge understatement. Although we arrived a day late (to the shortcomings of BWIA), we had a superb time during our two-week stay.
We were relieved that we had changed our original plan to stay in the Beach Cottages - although the views were good, the cottages (or huts, to be more precise) appeared quite run down and were quite far away from the main resort which would have caused us security concerns, especially as the beach was public.
The food was varied, interesting and always of a high standard. If anything, there was too many choices and we always felt like we'd eaten too much. The Trysting Place restaurant was nice, but lacked the atmosphere of the outdoor buffet - and the service was not quite as friendly.
The beach staff was great - particularly Anna, Deano and the effusive Alvin. The biggest letdown was the watersports staff, who were not particularly helpful or patient with beginners.
The beach was clean and safe, and the accommodations were excellent . It was worth the upgrade to the Seaside Suites, as we got a lot more room.
The atmosphere was relaxed and happy. Time just did not seem to matter. It was fantastic not to have any children invading our privacy or peace!
A final tip - the excursions were pricey and made us appreciate the 'adults only' policy of Rendezvous when we returned!
We will definitely go back one day.

Our 11-night honeymoon at Rendezvous was everything we dreamed it would be. The staff was polite, courteous and attentive, yet never intrusive. The facilities were excellent as were the rooms and gardens.
We fell in love with the Trysting Place restaurant, but also found the buffet food superb and varied.
Our Luxury oceanfront room was excellent and we had but a couple of steps from the front door to the beach.
The planes taking off from the nearby airstrip became almost unnoticeable after a couple of days and really caused little disturbance to what was a dream holiday. We will return and the sooner the better.

My wife and I have just spent 11 wonderful nights at Rendezvous. As much as we try, neither of us can find one single thing about the resort that can be faulted—the food, the staff, the activities or any other aspect.
The food was excellent in it's content, presentation and quality. The staff was not only superb at their jobs, but was friendly and courteous to the point of perfection. The activities offered were great and there was absolutely no pressure to do anything if you didn't want to. Our accommodation was a luxury oceanfront room built in Colonial style and was just perfect in every way.
We had no hassle from the beach vendors, in fact we spent a great time talking to them and exchanging views on each other’s countries. The gardens and the beach were beautifully maintained and added to the romantic aspect of the resort.
We feel privileged to have had the opportunity to spend our honeymoon in such a perfect setting on an island that offers so much. We are already thinking about our next visit, which just can't come soon enough.
