Every once in a while, you stumble upon an experience that goes so far beyond your expectations that you are just blown away by it. For Christy and me, our stay at The Inn On The Bay was just that kind of experience!

I can't say enough about the quality of this place, the incredible service of Normand (Louise was away the week we were here, but we hope to meet her on our next trip), the amazing view of Marigot Bay from the deck of the Inn.

Not only do I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting St. Lucia, but we are already trying to figure out when we can get back.

If you're going to St. Lucia, you must, must, must stay at this inn! It is peaceful, the service is very gracious, and you'll even get a whole bunch of hilarious jokes from Normand during your stay! Normand, thank you again for your wonderful hosting. We can't wait to see you again!

5.0 stars We had the wedding organizer extraordinaire! Visited: April 2004
Posted by timlofts
This was our second visit to The Inn on the Bay, caused entirely by the impact our first trip here had on us both. When we started to consider a venue for our wedding, there seemed to be only one place that truly fitted our ideal - Marigot Bay!

We contacted Normand and he immediately assumed the role of long-distance wedding organizer, arranging a photographer, an amazing caterer, all the legal issues and negotiated with the owner of the nearby Cliff House for the wedding itself.

Our re-visit was certainly everything we had hoped it would be and, with 14 family and friends in-tow, we were only too glad when they all fell in love with the place, too!

There are plenty of vivid descriptions of the Inn itself and testimonies of Normand and Louise's unique brand of hospitality, so I won't add to them - they're all true! Suffice it to say that we entrusted the most important day in our lives to them and they delivered in style. We can't thank them enough. Oh, and we'll be back again, that's for sure.

4.0 stars It was a fabulous holiday made more so by great hosts. Visited: November 2003

Having now gotten back to the cold and wet UK, it really emphasizes how much we enjoyed our time in Marigot Bay. The idyllic location of the Inn (some of the best views we've ever seen!), the roguish humor of Normand and the wonderful friendliness of Louise (not to mention the muffins!) made for a fabulous and unforgettable holiday.

The Inn on the Bay can be recommended, without reservation, as one of the best holidays anyone could ever wish for.

Thanks for everything, Normand and Louise - we'll doubtless be back to see you again!

5.0 stars We had a remarkably memorable vacation. Visited: August 2003

We truly felt as though we were old friends who Normand and Louise had invited as guests, not just paying transients. It was a remarkably memorable vacation that will live in our hearts and memories for many years to come.

We will never forget the incredible experience of being guests at the Inn. We are planning on returning in 15 months and have convinced some of our friends and family to join us. We expect to fill the Inn.

Louise served an excellent breakfast of local fresh fruit, homemade muffins and breads, croissants, and butter, fresh jams, and unique peanut butter. Every morning we were treated to a new variety of muffin or croissant…chocolate chip was definitely the best.

We loved all the special attention and assistance lavished on us. It was such a thrill to feel that we were part of the small community of Marigot Bay, because we were Normand's guests. Normand was always available to give advice, schedule tours, make reservations, drive us up and down the hill, and invest untold energy in making our vacation perfect.

We are so pleased that we found The Inn On The Bay and trusted our instincts when we booked our stay. Normand made that decision easy by his quick response to our first e-mail which he followed up with a phone call.

I particularly appreciated the way that Normand and Louise fostered a spirit of community among their guests. It was fun to meet so many interesting people and share the unique experience of being guests at the Inn.

One of our fondest memories was the evening we spent with Normand and Louise at the Green Parrot. We highly recommend them as dinner guests to anyone. We completely enjoyed the lively conversation, relaxing atmosphere, excellent wine and delectable offerings of Chef Harry...to say nothing of the free ride.

It seemed that our biggest decision of the day was whether we would noodle in the pool or go to the beach. We loved having no TV or phone. Quiet evenings just listening to the tree frogs or playing Monopoly and Scrabble were completely relaxing.

We spent ten glorious days as the guests of Normand and Louise and we are looking forward to our next visit, which we scheduled before we left St Lucia.

We have visited many Caribbean islands and enjoyed a number of wonderful trips, but this was truly the most unique island in the Caribbean, an unbelievably hospitable Inn, hosted by a delightful couple, and our best honeymoon ever (it was honeymoon # 11.)

5.0 stars Inn on the Bay was Heaven on earth in Marigot Bay. Visited: February 2003

We knew that the property looked beautiful, but as Innkeepers ourselves, we knew that the photos would only tell part of the story.

The Inn on the Bay and the island of St. Lucia were absolutely the best combination in the Caribbean! Lousie and Norman have created a true destination for relaxation overlooking one of the most beautiful bay areas in the world!

Their hospitality was second to none, the Inn was spotless and the breakfasts were simply incredible. They arranged tours for us and gave us touring tips as well.

The island of St. Lucia will charm you with the beauty, history and scenic splendor. After staying on many of the islands, St. Lucia is definitely the best, and the Inn on the Bay is the jewel in the Caribbean crown!

5.0 stars A Perfect Stay in Paradise Visited: February 2003

Dear Louise and Normand:

Thank you so much for the photograph and your kind e-mail. We arrived
home
last evening to about 7 inches of new snow!!! Quite a transition for us
after the wonderful sunshine and warm temperatures of Marigot Bay!

We already miss Louise's breakfasts at the pool with everyone and, of
course, Normand's jokes and stories. For people like us who only take
vacations once a year, it's good to know there are people like you that
help
make it so worthwhile. We are counting on our memories of the beautiful
views and sunsets from the balcony at the Inn, as well as the sailing,
snorkeling and diving experiences to carry us through to our next
vacation.

Thank you for hospitality, and we hope to see you again!

Warmest regards,

Shelly and Norm Zable - mezable@yahoo.com

5.0 stars Inn on the Bay is Paradise Recaptured! Visited: December 2002
Posted by jlhunter65
We had the pleasure of staying with Normand and Louise at their beautiful home in Marigot Bay for two weeks in December 2002. They were warm and hospitable people and they continually went out of their way to make us feel welcome. By the end of our stay we felt as though we had made friends, a welcome change from the usual hotel experience.

Their home was situated on a hillside with a magnificent view, and we enjoyed a homemade breakfast on the deck each morning, a lovely start to the day. Louise’s muffins were delicious, and Normand’s sense of humour kept us laughing all day!

They organized everything for us, from day trips to a car rental, and their advice on places to visit and restaurants to try were excellent. We didn’t have to worry about anything and this really allowed us to just relax and enjoy paradise!

We had a simply wonderful time. Booking our stay at the Inn on the Bay was the smartest thing we ever did, and we certainly chose the most beautiful place on the island. We highly recommend Inn on the Bay to anyone planning to travel to St. Lucia – you won’t be disappointed, in fact you probably won’t want to leave!

4.0 stars A friendly and well appointed hotel overlooking the bay. Visited: April 2002

We now know what paradise looks like! Our holiday at Marigot Bay was undoubtedly the best ever thanks to Normand and Louise and of course, the other guests staying at
The Inn on the Bay.

The views from the Inn were fantastic, and the accommodation was excellent. Our host’s hospitality, attention to our every need and the chauffeur service to the bay really made our holiday.

We will never forget morning breakfast spent talking with the other guests. It was great enjoying the excellent selection of fruits, homemade bread and all the other items too numerous to mention. But we also enjoyed the humor. Normand’s jokes really set us up for the day!

We are constantly looking at the photographs of our holiday, the sailing, snorkeling and the island trips continue to bring back very happy memories. Also, remembering the great time we had relaxing around the pool with Sandy and Jerry, Richard and Sylvie, Dave and Sharon, Jerry and Chris. Happy days!

Kathy and I wish Normand and Louise every success for the future and we look forward to returning to The Inn on the Bay for that promised reunion.

5.0 stars It is truly a special place to relax and enjoy. Visited: March 2002

Mary and I loved our second stay at the Inn On The Bay. Normand and Louise were wonderful hosts as always. We enjoyed the morning breakfast consisting of coffee, fresh fruit, cheese, cereals, and homemade breads that Louise prepared every morning.

Evenings were spent sitting on the deck drinking a French wine that Norman and Louise had selected for us. Normand was a very humorous and entertaining host. Both he and Louise catered to their guests, which provided for a wonderful and relaxing vacation.

There were many possible outings, which guests could enjoy. Since we had been to the southern part of the island on our first trip to St. Lucia, this time we enjoyed a day of sailing to Rodney Bay and Pigeon Point which Norman organized for us. Though it was fun to see as much of the beautiful island of St. Lucia as possible, it was fantastic to return to the Inn on the Bay each evening to partake of this little bit of paradise.

5.0 stars This is truly a haven from a hectic world. Visited: February 2002

We came home feeling that we had spent two weeks with good friends, instead of the usual anonymous hotel. We had a fantastic time. Thank you both so very much.

I miss the early morning mist at dawn, my first cup of coffee and sharing breakfast with my feathered neighbors. I also miss the tinkle of laughter that would follow Normand's banter and jokes from somewhere around the pool, and I miss Louise, with her soft, quiet, unassuming manner - and her outrageous breakfasts.

I enjoyed the gentle decisions for the day ahead - relaxing by the pool, head for the bay, hire a car, take a tour. But no. Perhaps just the pool today. And the subtle decisions of the evening - supper in the bay, or Castries, or the Jump Up - or a good bottle of wine and nibbles - at home.

I miss leaving the deck mid-afternoon for the tranquility and stillness of the terrace; with the shimmer of sea, flutter of humming birds and gentle lapping of waves far, far below.

Thank you both for the perfect holiday!

Our stay at the Inn on the Bay was the best holiday we have ever had. With the setting of Marigot Bay, the magnificent accommodation and the attentiveness of our hosts, one could be forgiven for thinking one had died and gone to heaven. We felt we were staying with friends.

We are looking forward to our next visit to The Inn on the Bay.

5.0 stars What a fabulous place to vacation! Visited: February 2002

This was our second year in a row and what a grand time we
had - even better then last year!

This year we stayed two weeks which gave us the time to adventure with a 4-wheel drive on more of the back roads on the north and east sides of the island. We tried to take every road we came upon and did not miss many! Every day was a fun-filled adventure as we headed out never knowing what to expect. The local people were very friendly and always helpful.

The mornings at breakfast and evenings before dinner were spent with the other guests on the patio sharing their daily adventures and getting to know each other.

Normand and Louise were wonderful hosts. We were in good hands here - Normand with early morning coffee and the anticipation of the chocolate bread Louise made among many other specialties. Superb.

The weather was wonderful with comfortable tropical breezes and the occasional quick showers. Oh! Remember steak night at the Shack in Marigot Bay. This was the ultimate place to relax and play.

5.0 stars Inn on the Bay provides modern comfort in an exotic setting. Visited: January 2002
Posted by swertheim1
We had a wonderful time staying with Louise and Normand, and would recommend the Inn On The Bay to anyone. The website gave an accurate impression of what it is like to stay at the Inn - fantastic views, quiet and peaceful atmosphere, friendly and helpful hosts.

Almost as impressive as the view, was the Inn itself - modern comfort in an exotic island setting. We had fun feeding the bullfinches, trying to photograph the hummingbirds, spotting the graceful little lizards and listening to the tree frogs - all without even leaving the grounds!

We found St. Lucia lush and beautiful. We will always remember our trip to the Pitons and the Botanical Garden, the little restaurants around Marigot, and the Anse la Raye street party (best crayfish Brygida ever had!).

Then, of course, there were Normand's "jokes", Louise's delectable muffins and meeting new friends at breakfast. Thanks for everything!

4.0 stars Beyond words... Visited: December 1969

Our stay at the Inn on the Bay was simply perfect. The personal service of Louise and Normand was excellent and more than we could have expected. They were helpful, friendly, and accommodating.

The breakfast and view you awake to each morning is exceptional! Marigot Bay has a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere, with everything you could possibly need--great food, nice beaches and amazing snorkeling.

The Inn on the Bay offers all of the things you would never find at a large resort--privacy, quiet, and the intimate feeling of staying amongst close friends--all at an unbeatable price!

The peaceful seclusion you find at the Inn, however, comes at a cost--getting here! It is located high atop the bay and it is quite an interesting hike/drive to get here--but it is still worth all the effort! Our stay at the Inn was as I said, beyond words...
