**Update March 2009, The closure of the resort has been postponed to a later date.
The resort was scheduled to close in May 2009, however that has been rescheduled.
The resort is undergoing some isolated renovations. The renovations are mainly being done to the rooms. The section that is being renovated is closed off and will not affect guest stays in any way.

As of September 2008, The Jalousie Plantation Resort will be rebranded and reopened in 2010 as the Tides Sugar Beach Resort.**

The Jalousie Plantation is located on the quiet southwest coast of St. Lucia. The resort is just five miles from the historic town of Soufriere. Nestled on a hillside in the shadow of the majestic Petit and Gros Piton Mountains, the resort offers stunning sunset views of Jalousie Bay.

Jalousie was once the site of an 18th century Sugar Mill Estate, the remains of the original mill have now been integrated into the resort. The lush setting, one of the most dramatic in the Caribbean dips down to a quarter-mile stretch of secluded white sand beach.

This spacious setting boasts 65 Villas and 35 Villa Suites most with private plunge pool and 12 additional guest rooms in the 2 Sugar Mill buildings. The resort features extensive leisure facilities such as tennis, golf, squash, gym, jacuzzi, beach, pool, kids learning centre, water sports, 2 restaurants, 2 bars and room service. The Jalousie offers privacy for honeymooners as well as family fun with plenty of activities for all.
