We just got back from the Jalousie today. Do not wait any longer, if you're thinking of going - just book now!
We arrived via helicoptor (7 mins flight). After speaking to guests who arrived via mini van (1.5 hrs), we knew it was the only way to travel to this resort - well worth the money.
Someone mentioned the porters at the airport in a previous review, and we had the same incident - they just grabbed our bags and ran off with them to the helicoptor check in and asked for a tip.
As for the reosrt, this was the best on the island. We hired a jeep for a day and drove around some of the others, and the Sandals resort look very shabby, Le Sport looked nice, but we prefered the location of the Hilton.
The staff was so friendly. We found the resort to be one where people got up early and went to bed early. The weather was great -we had a few showers, but we went at the end of the rainy season so it was expected.
The shuttles were great for getting around the resort. The resort was built into the hill side, so they were a must. I think the longest we waited for one was about 5 minutes, and they did a door to door service.
If we go back to St. Lucia, the Jalousie is the only place we would stay. You can't say it any better than that! |

Fantastic place and people - we can't wait to go back! Visited: September 2002 |

I tried to write a review, but the site wouldn't allow me to say all the good things I wanted to because it was too long. So instead, all I can say is this place was really great.
The pictures of the resort you find on the web and in the brochures just don't do it justice.
We had a wonderful time - the setting was like a dream and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Make sure you take the helicopter. The road from the airport was very bad, and St. Lucia helicopters look after you really well, We would like to say a special thanks to Cathi at the Jalousie office of St. Lucia Helicopters.
Thanks to all the Hilton staff that looked after us so well, and thanks to Junior at the Jalousie Taxi office, he was a great guide, a safe driver and provided a nice, cool shuttle. Special thanks to Neil Morrissey for the photo at the airport.
If you want to have a quiet holiday in a dream location, with fantastic service, from staff that outnumber the guests 3 to 1, you will find it hard to beat the Jalousie Hilton. We can wait to return.
To the Hilton management - to make it better, a few more paths would be nice, the shuttles were a bit of a pain after a few days, and a few more selections on the snack menuIn addition, 2 weeks is too long for the internet PC to be down, I was relying on that facility and couldn't use it all the time we were here. |

This resort offers breathtaking scenery. Visited: August 2002 |

My wife and I stayed in the Jalousie Hilton for three weeks in August 2002 for our honeymoon. The scenery of the majestic Pitons was absolutely unbelievable and no photos will ever do it justice.
Overall, we loved our stay and were very sad to leave. However, the Hilton did not quite match up to the expectations I had. First of all, while our Villa was very spacious and the plunge pool was absolutely fantastic, the villa was not really up to the standard that the premium price suggested. For example, the furniture was quite worn and the walls were stained badly from the air conditioning.
Secondly, the food was incredibly overpriced with breakfast, which was very poor, at $16 and buffet at $100 per head.
Finally, and worst of all, for such an exclusive hotel, we found that some of the staff were not friendly at all thinking that because we were young we would not leave a large tip, spending all their time with retired couples who looked as if they left bigger tips. We did not expect this kind of service at a premium hotel.
A piece of advice is to go to the Bang! bar just to the side of the resort on the beach - it had reasonably priced drinks and service with a smile! Despite all this, I would really recommend going to the Jalousie Hilton for the amazing views and natural scenery, though don't expect the best hotel in the world! |

The Jalousise Hilton was a wonderful wedding/vacation getaway. We had our wedding here, and 35 guests traveled from the United States for the celebration.
The staff was excellent. Rosina, the wedding coordinator, exceeded our expectations. We communicated via e-mail for one year planning the wedding, and it was simply flawless. The staff was well informed of the event and took very good care of us and our guests.
A few things that I wish I knew before I arrived was the long ride to the airport on the very winding road that left me car-sick curbside. Take the helicopter. The views, the 20-minute trip, and lack of car sickness were worth it.
Check with the front desk regarding the Friday night buffet on the beach, reservations were needed - although they accommodated 20 of us at the last minute. Patience was a must because guests had to wait for the shuttle to take them around the resort unless their villa was in the 200s (you are close enough to walk).
Take your keys when you relax in your plunge pool, the doors slam lock. One of our guests was affectionately referred to as Adam and Eve after discovering this.
Have cocktails and dinner at the Ladera, the sunset was beautiful and the food was decent, too. The Volcano mud bath is a must, your skin feels smooth afterwards.
Zek, the driver, was very friendly. It was well worth it to hire him for the entire day, you will see the true essence of St. Lucia.
It was lovely, indeed - we are planning to go back this year! Have a great time! |

There were some ups, and some downs! Visited: July 2002 |

I just got back from my honeymoon stay at the Jalousie Hilton. We stayed approximately 9 nights at the end of July into August.
Driving down into the resort itself was one of the most beautiful sights this planet has to offer, the beach, pool, and grounds were kept immaculate! At check-in, we were greeted with a rum punch that was greatly needed after our delay getting out of JFK. (Word to the wise - try not to use Air Jamica, passengers on this airline literally do bring the kitchen sink and will make every effort to delay the plane to get it aboard.)
Our villa was great, but there is no need to go for the villa suite as you won't be in the room enough to make it worth while. As for the food, breakfast was predictable with all of the usual fruits, bread, ceral and pancakes. I've tasted better at IHOP.
Lunch was great and there was enough to choose from at the bayside or through room service. For dinner - try to eat most of the meals at the Plantation or through the sunset dinner at the Palm court. The pier food and BBQ night were lacking. Also, try getting to Ladera and dining at Dasheen, they had an awesome view and great food to boot.
The Jalousie does have an all-inclusive, which I would highly reccommend for 90% of the guests. Food was expensive, (i.e., $34 US for breakfast). Should you wish to move from the resort, try booking some events through the tour desk at reception. We did the rainforest walk - be in shape and bring bug repelent that works.
The Soufrie experience tour was fun as well. It took you to the botanical gardens and waterfall (at a reasonable price). Anyone going to Castries - book on your own, through an easily accesible taxi. We used Tender, who was very reliable and friendly!
This review was based mainly on two ideas: the ability to relax - which the Jalousie exceeded (the staff went out of their way); and the meals. Make sure you get a villa with a plunge pool. It wasn't big enough to do laps in, but when the beach and pool area got too hot, it was nice to know we could go back to our own mini-pool without a crowd.
For those who have gone to Nassau in the Bahamas, St. Lucia was not similar in terms of shops and the towns. They were poor, and the selection of stores was lacking. Soufrie was okay to go through on a tour, but you wouldn't do it on your own. In Castries, even though it's the capital, you won't make it a block without being asked if you want to buy something.
I rated this resort an 8 out of 10! Enjoy! |

When I booked this two-week holiday with my fiance, I had not seen this hotel in any brochures. I was simply looking on this site and once I had read the reviews, I booked!
The helicopter collected us from the airport (it is a must) and as we landed at the Jalousie, the view took our breath away! We were met by one of the drivers, Bigga, who took our luggage and drove us to reception. We were given a lovely welcome with refreshing cold towels and cocktails.
I was worried about going in July, but we had great weather. It did rain, but soon passed over and never spoiled a whole day.
Our room was beautiful, with everything we needed. The room service was great, although a bit more choice would have been nice.
The food was okay, however, as neither of us are particularly adventurous, we spent most evenings at Palm Court which offered sandwiches, burgers and salads. The Italian night at The Pier is not to be missed - I was in Heaven!
The shops were very expensive if you were buying souveniers or gifts, but I heard that Castries was better for shopping, although we did not go. Soufriere was shabby and the locals were not the freindliest people we met. There seemed to be lots of strange people just hanging around. It didn't feel 100% safe, and we did get a few beggars and people offering to be our guide.
We originally went in a taxi on our own. However, we returned in our second week on the Soufriere Experience excursion, which was better. We drove around the town in a mini bus and it felt safer.
The only other excursion we booked was the ATV Tour where we went on a half day Quad Bike drive. This was recommended to us by a family we met (Hello Mike, Julie and Andrew) and it was brilliant! You see some lovely views, stop at Honeymooners Beach for a swim, and then go to see a local family. Do not forget your sunscreen!
Avoid the porters at the Airport! The ground staff directed us to our luggage, which was sent earlier in the day and asked us to point out our cases. As my fiance went to pick them up, a dirty looking porter grabbed our cases and ran off towards the check in desk. He threw our bags down and held his hand out. We just looked at him and he said "Give me a tip for carrying your bags". He was so rude! I told him that I did not have any money and hadn't had a chance to stop him taking our bags. My fiance told him to go away and after a short while he did.
If you want a relaxing holiday with beautiful surroundings and just enough activities to keep you ticking over - this is the place for you. We went to chill out in a luxurious place and that is exactly what we did! I would go back at the drop of a hat.

We just came back from the Jalousie Hilton and had an amazing time. We have vacationed on at least 10 Caribbean islands and we can be rather picky, but St. Lucia is now our favorite--hands-down!
We were a little apprehensive because we went during the rainy season; however, we had only one thundershower during our 10-day stay--and that was during the evening time.
The villas were lovely and we enjoyed our private plunge pool with a stunning ocean view. Since the hotel only had about 100 rooms, the beaches were never over-crowded. We loved the turquoise water, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, etc. The food was fine; however, it was pricey.
Some Caribbean islands are over commercialized with a hotel on every corner. But St. Lucia was green, lush, secluded and simply breathtaking. We rarely return to the same island twice because we always like to explore new places, but we're already planning a second trip to the Jalousie Hilton...it's definitely worth it! |

I just returned from the Hilton last week. It was a wonderful resort, well kept, with a wonderful and courteous staff. My wife and I had planned this trip for over a year, and we were not disappointed.
Our room was large and tastefully decorated. The beach was clean, and the activities were numerous. We stayed ten days and went on three scuba dives (one night dive right off the beach), horsebackriding, golfing, tennis, and just lots of relaxation.
Every suite had a plunge pool, which was a nice touch. We will be going back soon |

We're all brainwashed! Visited: June 2002 |

When I was told we were going to St. Lucia for our honeymoon, I was a bit skeptical.
We arrived on St. Lucia June 25th. When the day came to depart on July 4th, it was the first time, for all the places I've traveled, that I was saddened because we had to leave.
The Jalousie staff we encountered was very nice, courteous, down-to-earth, attentive, extremely prompt and treated Pam and me as more than guests.
Dealing with the local folks was no problem - that included the beggars in any of the local towns. You had a choice - either tell them "no", give them a buck, buy the wares if they interested you, or walk away. It was that simple!
Whatever you do, do not accept the first dollar figure they throw at you for taxi (water or land) rides, the local tours..whatever. Bargain! This tiny tidbit came by asking our first taxi guy "BeBe". I was inquiring about all the local flavor. He took us from Castries to Jalousie for $60 (paid by transfer voucher at Hotel desk). It will seem as if every taxi ride fare starts at $90 a couple and any "local" guided day excursions of St. Lucia will start at $120...bargain!
You'll meet Vincent at the Bay. Vincent ran a 4:30 sunset cruise. It was two hours long. To us, it was worth the 90 bucks. Vincent was a good guy. If you decide to do any day trips by land, ask Vincent to give you Chris's number or have Vincent set it up for you with Chris. Chris made our stay much more memorable for his demeanor and knowledge. Chris went out of his way to show us his island paradise.
If you decide to do any water excursions. Seek out "Mango" and his
boat "Why Knot". Mango will take you anywhere that involves water excursion activities. Anse Cochon had the best snorkeling.
These folks I just mentioned were not affiliated directly with the hotel. They hung out in the bay.
This place made us realize how brainwashed we all are to put up with all the garbage we have to put up with in the workplace every single day! |

Wonderful for relaxation, but active vacationers may be bored. Visited: May 2002 |

Straight off the bat, I will say that the vacation was close to optimal for me. That said, I had somewhat specific requirements for this trip that not everybody may share.
These were (a) Suitability for the elderly and less mobile (the vacation was partially a gift for my parents' 40th anniversary); (b) Good beach (I hadn't had a beach vacation for about 3 years); (c) Utter peace and quiet so that I could recover my strength before I returned to my rather hectic job. Isolation was a secondary requirement for the same reason. I am most definitely not an active vacationer. The occasional snorkeling foray or motorboat outing are the limits of my activities.
The resort came highly recommended by colleagues from the office (among others), but I still approached the holiday with some concerns, mostly having to do with the weather (we went in early May which was technically the start of the rainy season) and with my parents' ability to enjoy themselves without becoming exhausted (my father is 77).
I am happy to say that almost everything worked out as planned. The weather was fine, though quite humid; there were very frequent showers, but the sky cleared up in 5-10 minutes after each one. The temperature, day and night, was around 30C which was perfect. The sea never got the chance to cool down, so you could comfortably swim at 3 am if you so wished.
As for hardship, there was close to none, the one notable exception being the horribly long and hot queuing in the (non-airconditioned) terminal on arrival. It took up almost an hour to go through immigration and another 45 minutes to reclaim our baggage. Be VERY wary of the various people posing as porters, they will charge you a lot of money for taking your bags further away from where you wanted them in the first place. We were saved by the very helpful person from the helicopter company who found us, got rid of the "porter" and took us to the chopper.
Do not, under any circumstances, miss the opportunity to take the helicopter to the resort. It was brilliant. Apart from the obvious benefit of avoiding the bumpy bus trip over the long snaky roads of St. Lucia (the flight took about 10 minutes, and you'll feel sorry when it's over anyway), it was a very nice way to see a broad view of the island. Perhaps the most breathtaking moment of the whole vacation was when the chopper cleared the final ridge and we could suddenly see the Pitons rising almost vertically from the sea left and right with the Jalousie resort stretching down the lush green mountainside to the Caribbean.
The location of the resort was the best in the island and the views were as good as everybody says. Try to get a mountain view villa if you can; the ocean view villas were more expensive. Furthermore, some were close to the helipad, which could be very noisy, particularly on weekends.
The villas were arranged in "villages"; some villages were better located than the others. The 600s, 700s and 800s high up on the mountain seemed to have the best views. On a tip from a friend who had visited before, I specifically asked for 606. It had a very good view of both Pitons and even a glimpse of the sea from the patio and was literally buried in the jungle.
Privacy was not always the best for some villas, which was a source of complaint for some honeymooners. You see, the jungle was dense enough to hide almost all villas from the road - you could barely see any when you were on the beach- but some were built close together and so were in easy view of each other. The resort realized this and planted many bushes to shield the villas from each other, but they have not grown yet to a good enough size. Try to find a villa that has natural cover from the original plantation palm trees, or from genuine jungle vegetation if you like your privacy.
I found no fault with the villas. Other resorts may have more luxurious rooms, but I found that these cheerfully painted bungalows had a nice Caribbean flavor and lacked nothing that you would genuinely miss. The villa suites had a second room with a couch-bed which could be a good solution for families with small children. For couples, that room was not really useful (a living room in the Caribbean - why?).
The plunge pools were nice and cleaned daily, but were just that - small, shallow pools to cool off when the heat and humidity gets a bit too much. Don't expect to be able to swim in them.
The beach was wonderful. Most of the attraction was, of course, the view you got when swimming in between the Pitons looking up in the green jungle on the mountainside. As I mentioned, there was almost no evidence that there was a hotel hidden somewhere in there which gave a great feeling of privacy and isolation.
The white sand that the Hilton put on the beach was nice, but was no big issue with me - I have swam in beatiful black sand beaches in the past. It was more photogenic that way to be sure, and people seemed to like it. The water was beautifully clear and pleasantly warm all the time I was here. There was a nice little snorkeling area netted off on one side; some people there were commenting that you could get better snorkeling elsewhere, but for a layman such as myself, it was very nice indeed.
The hotel common areas were centered around the old Great House of the plantation. Two of the restaurants were located there, with a third one close by. The main oval pool was also next to the Great House, but with the sea literally 10 paces further away, I saw no point in it. The area around the pool also lacked good tree cover and got terribly hot in the afternoon.
I found the staff to be very friendly. If you make even the slightest effort to be friendly back to them (or if you genuinely like cricket like myself!), they become even nicer to you. The pace of service could be quite leisurely sometimes, but this was the Caribbean, after all. If you want promptness, you can go back to "civilization". In the end, everything got done. I had a slight problem with my air conditioner- an engineer was there in 10 minutes.
Also, the vans that took guests anywhere arrived on call in about 5 minutes. The resort was massive and on a steep mountain, so you could never practically go anywhere on foot.
The food was fine, but not wonderful. Breakfast was a buffet, and generally was okay. The open air location in the verandah facing the sea more than made up for any lack of refinement in the dishes. We didn't take lunch, as we were all keen swimmers and spent most of the afternoon in the sea.
Dinner choices were annoying in that the Plantation Room (the posher one) made the better food, but the Pier (the casual one) had the better location.
Some things I didn't try were the Spa (I wanted to send my parents, but they preferred swimming) and any excursions off the resort (I prefer lazing around or swimming).
If you like lazing on the beach all day, taking in glorious views of sea and mountain and jungle, this is the best place I can think of. If you like clubbing, or taking long excursion in a Jeep, or checking out the local culture, think again. Even if you are the lazy type like me, a week or 10 days is the limit.
I will go again next April for two weeks, but I'm thinking of doing a 2 centre holiday with the Jalousie as one centre. I haven't decided on the second yet - perhaps Galley Bay in Antigua? I'm open to suggestions. |

In my opinion, this hotel is not a resort and spa. It is a hotel -- with poor service, over-priced food -- and bats that dive-bomb you while you try to use your exclusive plunge pool. The drivers ask you to walk up and down the steep hills rather than do their job of driving you all the way to your villa. The result -- shin splints and delays. After being there two days -- I asked to go home. |

My husband and I traveled to this resort for our honeymoon. We lost our luggage, and the drive was unexpected, but the resort was wonderful. We recommend taking the helicopter to and from the airport.
We went to relax and that is what we did. If you are looking for adventure. this is not the island for you.
The staff was all so friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. They got our luggage for us and made sure we had a toothbrush and other necessities for the night.
The food was what I had expected. It was island food, so you won't get the food you are accustomed to. We didn't go hungry, that's for sure.
Our villa was great, and we had a private plunge pool. I wouldn't spend the extra money on a waterview room because they were not right on the beach.
I would go back in a heartbeat! |

The hotel was great, the island - boring. Visited: May 2002 |

A few rants and raves. The raves first. The scenery was spectacular. The Pitons were quite imposing. The villas were charming and were larger than we expected.
The grounds were steep, so walking was usually restricted to a downhill journey, but the shuttles came quickly when called, so the size of the property was not an issue.
Despite the negative reviews, the food at all the restaurants was very good, as were the various buffets. The downside was that the food was pricey for what we got. I recommend Dasheens at Ladera, the food matched the spectacular view.
The negative points include that we went during the “dry season” , yet it rained every day. That wasn't the hotel’s fault, but when you took away the beach there was absolutely nothing to do on this island.
Soufriere was a dump that was populated by beggars. We literally could not go a block without somebody bumming money.
All in all, I’m glad we went. But after four days of just lying around a beach, we became buggy and there was just nothing to do on this island.

Hotel Excellent - Pity About The Food ! Visited: April 2002 |

Firstly, don't worry about the car journey, those Americans just want an excuse to use a helicopter! The journey is about 3/4 hour by car, yes the road isn't in good condition, but it isn't scary either.
Don't get conned by the porters at the airport - you don't need them.
The hotel was wonderful - don't bother using the restaurants for lunch - use the room service at a similar price and eat out on your private verandah.
The selection of food was very disappointing - the menu didn't change all week, and wasn't exactly packed with choice - however the food you did choose was OK.
It was annoying to have to call for a shuttle all the time - be under no illusions - you CANNOT walk anywhere - the hills are extremely steep and it is a long way to the facilities. We found the place too americanized, the staff were pleasant, but everything was obviously scripted - if you constantly like being interrogated about the weather, the quality of the meals, etc. then this is the place for you, if not you may get a little fed up with it.
Having said all this, our villa (507) was excellent - it is definitely worth paying a little extra for a plunge pool.
If you just want to relax and unwind then this is the place for you, but only for a week, after this the shuttles and lack of food choice get a little irritating - if you want 2 weeks, combine the Jalouise with another hotel. |

We just returned from a week at Jalousie. It was great - and such an amazing location.
The helicopter ride was thrilling and was so quick, there was no time to even be frightened. We loved our villa suite, and preferred being on the lower part of the piton.
There were lots of families here for Easter and spring break (about 60% from the UK, which was a pleasant surprise for us.
The staff was truly superb. It took us a day or two to believe how nice they were. St. Lucia needs tourists for its economy, and they are grateful to be able to host outsiders. How pleasant it was, compared to so many other vacation spots. |

My wife, our nine-year-old son and I stayed at the Jalousie for a wonderful eight days. I would describe it as an "old world" type resort.
There was no bar in the pool, no jet skis on the beach, no gimmicks. Just great service in the most spectacular setting between the Pitons. Our highlights included a snorkeling sanctuary at one end of the beach, an incredible breakfast buffet featuring local exotic fruits, and a very private hillside "cottage" with a view of the sunset to die for. |

Whatever about the sheer beauty of the blue seas, the pitons, the greenery, the villas ... this is the place to go to leave behind the crazy world of traffic, smog, cold (for those in Ireland), noise and hassle - not to mention the sound of mobile phones ringing.
My initial concern was the fear of boredom, knowing I had 17 nights here. After five, the laid back lifestyle and calmness of the resort started to creep in to my weary body!
The staff was fantastic - I think I knew everyone of them by the time I left. A few worth mentioning were Leon, Rohan, Leandra, Wilson, and many, many more.
A visit to Bang on Wednesday night to see the brothers in action for their acrobatic show was a "must".
As a person who gets bored in places after a day or two, you can certainly spend any length of time here - it only gets better and better as you go along. |

One of the best, if not the best, resort we have ever stayed at.
It’s in a glorious location with superb service. The staff is brilliant and cannot do enough to make your stay perfect.
If you are going to use a taxi, make sure you ask for Junior; he even climbed a tree to get us cocoa! Also, take the helicopter – it’s worth it.
There are four restaurants; two are for dinner, one is for breakfast and one serves lunch by the pool.
We also highly recommend Bangs for great food and drinks and the Wednesday Caribbean Party (it’s next to the Pier). We did go up the mountain to the restaurant Dasheen, which sits at the top of the mountain between the pitons and a breathtaking view of the water. It was a $15 taxi ride each way and took approximately 15 minutes. Get the Pina Colada and get there before sunset!!! Also, try StoneField Estate for dinner. Same taxi cost as Dasheen. The view (sunset) and food are spectacular.
The mountain-view villa was great - set in lush tropical vegetation. The room was large, clean and very comfortable. I'm glad we didn't spend the extra money for the ocean view. The property is so large that you’ll need the shuttle to get around the property, but that was not a problem at all. We would call the shuttle from our room and within a couple of minutes, they were outside our villa.
The Sundeck by the Spa area was a great place to see the property and take pictures.
The staff at the Jalousie was very nice, friendly and accommodating.
For a holiday of peace and tranquility in unbelievably beautiful surroundings, the Jalousie cannot be beaten.

We have travelled extensively throughout the Caribbean and have never seen, let alone stayed at a place like this.
From the seemingly make-believe arrival to the helicopter ride back to the airport, this is a fairytale trip. The accomodations were first rate (I do not use the term loosely), service exceptional, especially for outside the U.S. and the Caribbean in particular.
The grounds and beach were phenomenal. I would rate the food as good, not great, and somewhat overpriced, although the two buffet nights we attended (Friday barbeque and local fish night at the Pier) were a good value and quite nice.
The local entertainment at the restaurants was great, so bring your dancing shoes! If you are from a great restaurant city as we are, it is hard to compete in the fine dining catagory, so one should lower their expectations in that regard.
The beach was excellent. SCUBA was very good (only average for the Caribbean) with a helpful staff, very short boat rides, and not crowded (at most - 4 divers on a trip). The snorkeling was easy to access and extremely safe with very nice fish life.
One never really needs to leave the place! One of two days we left, we took a boat taxi to Anse Chastenet for the day. While the food was good, it really couldn't compare to Jalousie. We also took a tourist trip to the Botanical Gardens, Sulphur Springs and volcano. It was okay.
Do not miss "the Bang" Wednesday nights for a great local party. It was not advertised by the hotel, which brings me to my only criticism of the place. The Concierge was basically useless. She was really just a tour agent and salesperson. I think a hotel of this quality should have an employee who, while paid by the establishment, should be an independent arm working for the benefit of the guests only, giving local insight as only a good Concierge can.
Also, don't be afraid of taking the land transfer from the airport. It allows you to see the country, stop for goodies for the room, have some adventure and save a hundred bucks from the round trip helicopter ride. However, the helicopter ride was nice as a one way trip back to the airport.
In addition, the spa services were an additional welcome luxury. Overall, a fine place. |

Arriving by helicopter just took our breath away. We decided not to go by road after what people had said, not to mention what my mother had to say when she arrived after us (having taken a coach) a little later. I am glad we didn't take the coach; we arrived as the sun was setting and it was just amazing.
We went with our two young girls, as we had decided to get married out there as well. The big day went very well. We just told them what we wanted for the day and they sorted out the rest.
We couldn't fault the service, it even rained on the day and they changed everything so that when we arrived we were somewhere equally as beautiful (everywhere is lovely out there anyway). I would recommend getting married out there to anyone. Staff where very friendly and very helpful. We stayed in one of the suites, but to be honest I think all of the apartments were set in such beautiful grounds--anywhere would have been just as nice.
The children loved it and there were quite a few other families there, which helped.
