It was an amazing place in an amazing place. Visited: October 2009 Posted by purceld We stayed for ten days in October 2009 and have been congratulating ourselves on that particular choice from the moment we drove through the gates. When we arrived we were greeted by the wonderful staff who immediately made us feel welcome and began our transition from travelers to revellers. Our rooms were wonderful. Walking through them, the one thing that caught our eye from the way they were prepared for us was the view from the balcony. The sight of the Pitons and the ocean, from a position you feel is just yours, has to be seen to be believed. The spectacle of the Pitons and the view of the ocean disappearing away to the horizon could be seen from almost everywhere in and around the house. The sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking and should not be missed. Every one that you are lucky enough to watch takes you another step into a holiday to remember. The pool and deck area is a very special place to begin to unwind and ease into the St. Lucia pace of life - whether you want to lounge in the sun, read, swim, eat drink or just chat. It's a tough choice, but beware the Rum Punches, they can sneak up on you. If you want to go to somewhere spectacular where you can really unwind at whatever pace that suits; with options to be more active if you feel the need; and to wake each day to a view that will stay with you forever, the Le Gallerie gets a massive tick in the box from us. 0 users found this review helpful. 0 found this review unhelpful. Visited: October 2009 Posted by darrentrentacosta Just back from an amazing trip to St. Lucia for the wedding of our dear friends Ken & Teri (btw this trip also included a wedding anniversary and proposal!) The entire staff at Le Gallerie were nothing if not flawless in their services...Charmaine's cooking is hands down the best...and coming from New Orleans where I know cooking and creole...she is simply amazing...Catherine & Paulia were a daily dose of smiles and fun!...Paulia helped navigate our daily trips to the market...which is a unique experience in and of itself. I found the locals very hospitable, friendly and eager to make any tourist stay an enjoyable one. I recommend using the local beach at Anse Chastanet resort, and then have dinner at their restaurant on the beach...Amazing! The villa flows nicely from room to room with fantastic views of the Pitons (although I would suggest some pruning of trees to open the view even more). I cannot begin to say just how great the staff was at the villa. The attention to detail with cleaning and food preparation was flawless. Fresh flowers were arranged on the beds every day, and I'm still craving the meals. If there's one suggestion I would make for future guests it would be to let Shermaine cook for you. Visited: October 2008 Posted by legallerieislovely This was a breathtaking experience. The house was fantastically positioned to capture the best views of the island - a certain joy to behold. The staff was friendly and approachable. They made our stay fabulous. The cooking was inspiring. It was all around a fabulous time in a beautiful place. Visited: April 2008 Posted by cnspots2 The pictures on the Internet are wonderful, but when you get here and walk in it actually takes your breath away. The beauty of the house and the view of the Pitons from every room was fabulous. The staff was wonderful, too. We all felt like we had known them for years. Then, having to leave it felt like we were moving away from family. Shermaine's cooking was absolutely the best. When we got here, she had cooked us dinner even though we didn't ask for it. Don't go out to eat - let her cook! All of her dishes were wonderful, and full of flavor. Catherine, the housekeeper, kept the house clean and fresh. She decorated our beds each night with flower designs. And Casey - what a happy person! I think he had us laughing just as much as we had him laughing. He climbed a coconut tree for us - which was amazing to see. And with no shoes on! He just climbed right on up like the tree had stairs. They all said how much fun they had with us, and that they were truly going to miss us. The construction next door really wasn't a problem. They did wake us up in the morning, but I really didn't care because I don't want to waste my time on vacation sleeping anyway. Besides, these are island people, and they work slow and take lots of breaks. All in all, it was an amazing vacation. The house, staff and the island were fantastic. I will miss Shermaine, Catherine and Casey. The house was perfect, and they made it even more perfect. And thanks, again, to Shawna. Visited: August 2007 Posted by samweller We were mesmerized by the photographs of the house and views even before we arrived. However, we didn’t actually think that anything could be that fantastic and that beautiful. Now that we have been here, stayed in the house, and marvelled at the views, we realize the photographs didn’t actually do either justice.
