We just returned from a week’s stay at BodyHoliday. We loved everything about the resort, and tried to take advantage of all they had to offer, but that was impossible.
we tried: scuba shore dive, tubing, sailing lesson, snorkeling, and many workout classes (body stretch, body burn, yoga, meditation, tai chi, body circuits, body attack, martial fun, pilates). We also tried all the included spa treatments, intro to golf, intro to archery, and morning walks.
The spa treatments were pre-scheduled. You can change them, but it is difficult. It worked well for us. We also had time to relax on the beach and at the pool and catch some rays.
The resort lagoon had its own reef that was also used by the Sandals resort. We saw octopus, rockfish, flounder, moray eels, squid, and numerous varieties of fish and coral.
We loved the food at Deli, Cariblue and Tao especially. Cariblue had great breakfast and lunch buffets with many options. Book at Tao early, as it fills up fast. We never tried an entrée that cost extra, as we found the included selections to be enough.
A very few of the entrees on the Cariblue menu were just so, so; but, it was obvious that they would have brought another for us if it wasn’t to our taste as the service was excellent. We always found we had plenty to eat, and this wasn’t necessary.
We got a renovated room and we were very pleased. The mattress comfort was okay, and furniture selection was not well thought out. The leather cushions were nice to look at, but not all that comfortable.
The grounds were gorgeous. |

Crystals, St. Lucia traveler review
We had a refreshing tropical adventure at Crystals. Visited: April 2008 |
| Posted by memorylane |

This was not our first time at Crystals, but our first to write in a review. We thought we should share our memories with others who are looking for: adventure, relaxiation, a unique experience, and St. Lucian hospitality.
No, we are not family members - but we feel we are, and for sure we have been to Crystals enough times that perhaps looking into building our own holiday home here.
St. Lucia is a marvelous island, and Soufriere is (in my view) the only part to be in. It is unspoiled. To some, this is off putting perhaps - but for us, it is perfect.
There is no factory here, no large supermarkets, motor ways, or signs. However, there is great fresh air, and there are great people(when you get to know them). Life is slow, and we love it.
Crystals captures part of this life, and yet the cottages are very comfortable and unique. The staff, from the security to Monica and Martin, are all friendly.
This is the only place I would stay. There are things to do, too. We loved the day sail, the piton hike, and the rain forest.
As for resturants - we cooked in most of the time, but liked the Mango Tree at Stonefield. Enjoy |

We had a wonderful vacation, and the staff was great. Visited: April 2008 |

The pictures on the Internet are wonderful, but when you get here and walk in it actually takes your breath away. The beauty of the house and the view of the Pitons from every room was fabulous.
The staff was wonderful, too. We all felt like we had known them for years. Then, having to leave it felt like we were moving away from family.
Shermaine's cooking was absolutely the best. When we got here, she had cooked us dinner even though we didn't ask for it. Don't go out to eat - let her cook! All of her dishes were wonderful, and full of flavor.
Catherine, the housekeeper, kept the house clean and fresh. She decorated our beds each night with flower designs.
And Casey - what a happy person! I think he had us laughing just as much as we had him laughing. He climbed a coconut tree for us - which was amazing to see. And with no shoes on! He just climbed right on up like the tree had stairs. They all said how much fun they had with us, and that they were truly going to miss us.
The construction next door really wasn't a problem. They did wake us up in the morning, but I really didn't care because I don't want to waste my time on vacation sleeping anyway. Besides, these are island people, and they work slow and take lots of breaks.
All in all, it was an amazing vacation. The house, staff and the island were fantastic. I will miss Shermaine, Catherine and Casey. The house was perfect, and they made it even more perfect.
And thanks, again, to Shawna. I will be sure to use your web site again! |

Zipline, St. Lucia traveler review
It was fun! Visited: November 1999 |

This was actually my favorite activity while on vacation. The people were very nice, and they seemed to enjoy our wild crazy group a lot.
We got to do seven lines of zipline, and even went back through three of the lines at the end. i guess that was a bonus for being such a fun group!
I don't remember the name of the zipline company, but it was located near Dennery. Be sure to check it out. It was a blast. |

I suggest you stay away, as we were harassed and had our money stolen.
Also, the room we were staying in had mice in it. In the middle of the night, they came in and ate the bits that we had left out in the kitchenette.
I do not advise you to come here, nor would I recommend it to anyone. Please stay away.

It's not what it seems. Visited: December 2007 |

At first, this place seemed nice - people and all. However, in a short while, I realized this woman, Sheryl Skeete, seemed to have an attitude problem (and a money allocation problem).
We had a long stay here (six months). During that time, we couldn't get a warm (let alone hot) shower - that was until a hotel reviewer came to stay for a couple of days. When the water warmed up, the light came on!
We then found we had been charged for her electric bill for six months. Our bill was considerably lower when we found out about it ($1,200 lower). We found that information out through the electric company. When she learned of this, she promptly evicted us and kept our damage deposit.
The place was cramped, and the plunge pool never warmed up. However, it would be a good place to keep your drink cold!
Buyer beware! |

Crystals, St. Lucia traveler review
This was our honeymoon dream. Visited: March 2008 |

Our stay was just wonderful. We had spent nights over the Internet looking for that special hotel, and quite by accident came across Where to Stay. This is a great site, I must say it helped us find Crystals.
First, I have to say the Crystals site was nothing like the property. I agree with other reviews sent in. This property's only problem is the site they have. In fact, I asked Monica why she does not get a better one. She said she agreed, but for now they do not have a problem with booking, as most is word of mouth anyway.
This property is not for everyone. If you like nature and camping, you will love Crystals. If you are the type who is picky, you will not.
Do not think this property is primitive - far from it. The cottages and villas are superb. It's just that you are in the rain forest.
For us, it was wonderful. We split our stay between two cottages - both were great.
I enjoyed the use of the jeep, and this I agree is a must. First of all, you save on the taxi rates, which cost a small fortune. Second, you are free to tour the island. We went up to the Cap Rodney Bay area and down the the south Labourie. I came to the conclusion the Soufriere area is far the better. It is lush, and less populated - and of course, there's Crystals.
We love to walk, so we did the rain forest, the Gros Piton, and the waterfalls. It was a great stay. Cheers to all at Crystals, and a special thanks to Arlette and Monica. |

The Rainforest Hideaway provides a pretty setting. Visited: November 1999 |

This restaurant was really expensive, and the food was not great. The setting was really pretty, though, so it was worth it.
We had two small kids, so we made a very early reservation. They were nice to the kids. However, we thought they could have brought some bread or something for the two-year-old, and it was annoying how they tried to be so fancy to the point of being pretentious. I don't care if my forks and knives are perfectly arranged in front of me when I'm holding an eight-month-old baby.
It was a nice night, but not amazing or anything. |

The house had really great potential - the views were absolutely amazing. Furnishings weren't really top of the line, but it was big and spacious (giant kitchen) and we lived on the long great porch. The master bedroom was excellent, though.
We enjoyed ourselves overall. The pool was great, and Dragon kept it spotless. The house was comfortable. It was not a five-star, experience, but it was a very nice week. |

It's awesome, but only has two master suites. Visited: December 2007 |

It is an awesome house.
My only complaint is that it is represented as having multiple suites so to speak. We went with three couples, and there were two huge beautiful master suites with huge bathrooms and balconies. Then, there were two tiny little, dark rooms downstairs. We were very disappointed in that. We had issues over who got the two master suites.
Other than that, the view was absolutely mesmerizing morning and night. I would go back again. |

Halcyon is an excellent Sandals resort. Visited: March 2008 |
| Posted by windsortraveler |
 |
We stayed at Sandals Halcyon from March 10 to 17th, and found the resort to be an excellent choice.
The resort is small and intimate, with only around 170 rooms. Our room was close to the main pool and the main building, and was fully adequate. Most of the rooms, and in fact, the entire resort were right on the beach and the ocean. We did not have an ocean view room, but were only steps away from an ocean view.
There were two swimming pools. We spent most of our time around the main pool, but they are both very good. We had no trouble finding loungers at any time of the day at the main pool.
The second pool had a quieter image. They served tea and sandwiches in the afternoon, and had a popcorn machine!
The restaurants were all first class. There was the Bayshore buffet, Mario's, The Pier, and the Beach Bistro. Mario's and The Pier were only open for dinner. You can also arrange a candlelit dinner for two (extra charge) on the beach or in one of the wedding gazebos.
The staff all seemed friendly and ready to be of service. Both pools and the Beach Bistro had a bar, and there was a piano bar which was open at night.
There was no drink service on the beach or around the pools. You had to get up and walk over to the bar to get a drink.
Shuttles were available running between all three Sandals resorts in St. Lucia, and you should take advantage of them to visit the other resorts and restaurants, which are larger and each different in their own way.
We had a great time and will return.

We stayed for two weeks in February, and had a wonderful holiday.
The hotel is ideally situated on a beautiful beach. The rooms are large and bright with up-to-date facilities. Also, the staff is very welcoming, and cannot do enough for you.
We couldn't fault the whole holiday. It is definitely worth a visit, and we will go back. |

It was Paradise! Visited: February 2008 |

What a delight! The villa, the staff, the pool, and the views were wonderful. This truly was the vacation of a lifetime.
We ate every meal on the veranda, and I'm afraid we encouraged the bold little finches who liked to dine with us.
As a devout coward, I couldn't drive a car in St. Lucia, but local taxi services were great.
In addition, the owner, Mr. Chase was extremely solicitous concerning his guests' welfare. I cannot recommend Villa Serendipity too much. |

This was our second time at Crystals, and it was wonderful.
It was a very special property, and the staff was very friendly. Thank you girls for looking after us!
The food was amazing. We had dinner cooked for us twice in our villa. Arlete did a great curry.
The views from Crystals were great. The photos on the ern site in no way showed how nice this property was.
We loved to do all the nature stuff. We climbed th pitons; did the rainforest and waterfalls (lots); and spent quite some time on the beach in the south. I thought the beaches in Vieux Fort were better than Soufriere. It was well worth the drive over - and on the way, stop at Debbies for lunch - it is a must.
We did the fish fry, but didn't think it was so hot. There were lots of tourists. We loved the early morning market, though.
We had a great stay. We will be here again - hopefully next year. |

We stayed just seven days, and were ready to stay even longer.
Layne was a kind person - with some serious island cooking skill. She was attentive, and made our stay super nice.
Also, the house was better than in pictures and descriptions.
I highly recommend the staying here. |

I enjoyed waking up every morning to the sound of the sea lapping at the shore, and seeing the cruise ships sail out of the harbour lit up like a Christmas tree.
It was amazing. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were spacious. It was in a good location, and the service was good.
It was all around a good holiday accommodation choice. I would recommend it. |

We enjoyed the pirate ship excursion. Visited: November 1999 |

This is a great family excursion - 1.5 to 2 hour ride on a pirate ship to Soufriere. There, they drop you off to see volcano remnants and Diamond waterfall.
Afterward, you get back on the boat to have a hearty lunch for adults and hotdogs for kids. Drinks are free, and lunch is great.
You return back to Rodney Bay, and while still on the ship, kids get to participate in a treasure hunt - followed by water gun fight.
The kids absolutely loved it! |
