4.0 stars It was nice, so we extended our stay. Visited: July 2007

At first we were thrilled. However, once we realized the other villa features, we learned a few things.

This villa is not child-friendly. There are lots of stairs - both to the pool and into the bedrooms. Also, the slate on the stairs and hallway is very slippery - and quite scary for wet feet.

The pool is only a "plunge" pool with no shallow end, which also makes it more work to enjoy. The mosquitoes were merciless. I'm not sure if this is year round or in the summer only.

They wanted to charge for a DVD player that gave out while we were here - even though we reported right away that it was making sounds in the motor. This was a tedious argument.

Orient Bay is beautiful. The restaurants are delicious. It was nice enough to extend our stay a week for a three-week stay.

Green Cay Villas was very nice and was exactly what was shown on their site. This was our second visit and we were equally pleased. It was private, nicely appointed (not spectacular) and had a great view. All around, it was very pleasurable.

4.0 stars We were pleasantly surprised. Visited: July 2002

We booked a one-bedroom unit for only two nights over the July 4th holiday, en route to St. Barts. We were pleasantly surprised given the fact we were only spending about $100 a night.

The place was quiet, perfectly clean, and nicely decorated. It had a lovely semi-enclosed kitchen, nice bathroom with amenities, and a pretty deck with hot tub and chaises.

The staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke English. The walk to Orient Beach was downhill and only took a few minutes.

One caveat: July was an off-time to visit, and because of this, there was not a lot to do at night. The staff at an Orient Beach bar warned us not to walk on the beach at night towards other area attractions-- they said it wasn't safe, which was a bummer. (Could that explain the security systems we kept noticing everywhere?)

Also, taxis would be hard to come by, so consider this if you're traveling in July. I would stay here again with a group and make my own fun next time. Overall, it was a great value in a great part of the island.
