Don't go. Visited: December 1969 Posted by ATraveler Nice place, but they don't make firm reservations. I've stayed there 4 times and room accommodations are always a hassle. The last time I stayed there, they changed the rates and insisted that I pay in francs at a rate of conversion which was in their favor. Visited: December 1969 Posted by dhayutin The location of the Esmeralda Resort is as good as it gets on St. Martin. We will be staying at the Esmeralda Resort many more times. We find it helpful to get a fax copy of our reservation. The reservation should show both the villa and room number. Love the beach and its location to the resort. Rooms are spacious and clean. Anything you need they will get if you give the resort enough time. I always call to the hotel just before leaving home to re-confirm our reservation. From the friendly service at the hotel to Joseph helping us at the beach, we are more than pleased with the freedom given to guests. The staff keeps the rooms so clean and perfect(thank you!!!) and the beach bar and the restaurant are perfect!!! The villa was perfect in every way including the private pools which were great for late afternoon or evening "dips". The proximity to Orient Beach was ideal. A truly perfect Caribbean vacation, quiet but an easy drive to Marigot or Phillipsburg. The beach cafe was good...and Joseph was a great help. Perfect honeymoon vacation Visited: December 1969 Posted by brendanb This was a perfect place. The rooms were simple, clean and very nice. The food at both restaurants was excellent. Great location. Very friendly staff. Short drive to Grand Case for dinners if you wanted to go out for a few evenings.
