A rave review for the GCBC! Visited: June 2000 |

My wife and I visited GCBC for the seventh time and we plan to return for our eighth. It was perfect for us. It’s quiet and set on lovely water, with plenty of shade from the sun when required. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly.
We love the breakfasts and ate at the hotel restaurant every night because the manager is a good friend, but the restaurants in the village are the best in the Caribbean. The French side is vastly superior to the Dutch side, which is "honky tonk" and has some of the worst roads anywhere.
This hotel runs an excellent vacation getaway that is delightfully unpretentious. We love it there, but don't tell too many people or it will get too crowded. Then people will say, like Yogi Berra, "Nobody goes there any more, it's too crowded." Our only complaint: the awful road to the hotel, but we now heard that it has been paved. Hurray!

Wonderful week at Grand Case! Visited: June 2000 |

Just returned from a week at the Grand Case Beach Club. This was our first trip to St. Martin and we would definitely return to this property. Nice, clean accommodations (they updgraded us to a 2-bedroom!), manicured property with 2 beautiful calm beaches, free continental breakfast, watersports (try the paddleboat out to Creole Rock) and car rental at the hotel. We loved the hammocks under the sea grape trees at Petit Plage Beach, next to the Sunset Cafe. We ate at the cafe for breakfast and lunch, but opted for the wonderful restaurants in Grand Case for dinner, as they were all within walking distance to the hotel. Our only wish was that they would pave the road to the hotel...if you could call it a road. Stay at this hotel...you will not be disappointed! |

Friendly, quiet, clean Visited: April 2000 |

Just returned from our 5th visit to Grand Case - cannot say enough about our stay. It was just perfect. We feel the only thing it was lacking was a memorable sunset which we have experienced only once in our travels.
The sunset cafe was as good as some of the high priced French restaurants in town. The staff were very accommodating, the beach was constantly being raked. The rooms were well kept and clean, the towels were big and fluffy.
The property was well cared for at all times. There was nothing that looked like it needed to be repaired or repainted. The gardens were constanty being tended to. We highly recommend this place to all. |

Awesome view, friendly employees, great food! Visited: January 2000 |

We stayed at Grand Case Beach Club in January of '00 and found the view incredible! Sunset Cafe was great! It was a little off the beaten path, but if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, private place not far from fantastic eateries, this is the place! The beaches were calmer compared to the Maho Beach, where we have stayed previously. We attended the manager's cocktail party and found it to be very pleasant and so were the people we met. We would highly recommend it! |

GREAT PLACE TO RELAX, GREAT ISLAND Visited: April 1999 |

We stayed in a two-room duplex Easter of '99! It was friendly and clean and the beach was great. Wow, what a view! The kids didn't even complain about not enough to do. Everything on the island is close by! The food in grand case is amazing!! Truly, you can make the vacation you want! We're going back again this year. |

We enjoyed our first night at the hotel before hurricane Jose came. During the hurricane the manager was very friendly and kept hotel guests informed on weather and safety info. All staff were very friendly. View was nice from our room. |

My wife and I stayed here last year - going back for another stay this coming May. There is nothing to see in the water, more for just relaxing. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is very nice. |

The best place in the Caribbean to stay!! Visited: December 1969 |

We spent our honeymoon in the best room of the complex and loved every second. The waiter/waitresses at the Sunset Cafe were excellent, friendly and inviting. The view of the ocean was amazing, as well as the mountain view. We had a lot of fun watching a goat herder walk up the mountain every afternoon, from our pool side porch. We also recommend spending an evening or two drinking at the bar with the manager, bartender and crew. Everyone is so nice! We also recommend skipping the manager's party, which is for the guests, but we only saw the snobby American people there comparing yacht sizes. The French people had the right idea...have a glass of wine and hit the beach!!! |

Relaxing resort Visited: December 1969 |

Just returned from a somewhat relaxed week at GCBC. We stayed in a 2 bedroom ocean front room. It was basic, adequate and clean. It seemed to have been recently redecorated. The view was outstanding. Pretty sunsets every day. The housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful. But, the downstairs toilet and cold water to the kitchen sink was turned off and we were not told about it. It was not fixed for 2 days. When it was fixed, it was turned off again!! Then we had no cold water, then we had no hot water. The response from the front desk was not helpful. All of this might have been a minor inconvenience, but we were travelling with my mom. She is handicapped and cannot climb the stairs. Then when they decided to really fix the problem it took another two days of hammering and noise to get the job done. All very nerve racking and not at all peaceful in the room during the day. But, at night it was lovely and quiet. The cafe was harried at breakfast, but good for lunch and dinner. The beach and the guys at the watersports desk were great. |
