We had a great time in a perfect accommodation. Visited: February 2008

We second the description of the apartment given by the preceeding review.

We spent a week in a secnd floor, two-room apartment with a kitchen. We had a balcony overlooking the beach next to the bedroom/living room, and a back room with another balcony overlooking a small parking area next to the street.

The apartment was very well furnished, especially the kitchen. We had a hard time leaving that balcony. It was comfortable, and the view was so excellent.

Also, the apartment was very secure, especially with the automated roll down hurricane shutter (which we were asked to close every night and when away. It was to protect the furnishings (from rain).

Beach lounge chairs were available. The beach was miles long, and had a gentle surf.

The hotel was about 1/2 mile from the main pier in a somewhat rougher neighborhood. Walking along the road back to the restaurants could be a bit intimdating, given the volume and speed of traffic. So, we often walked up the beach.

In our opinion, Grand Case is heaven, and Zuzu provides excellent accommodations. This was apartment living, not hotel living.

When Zuzu informed us she had no room at California and proposed an apartment elsewhere we were disappointed, and hesitant. But we took the chance and the result was a perfect time in Grand Case, St. Martin.

We spent three weeks in a wonderful apartment at the Pavillon Beach Hotel, right on Grand Case Bay.

We found this three-room apartment well equipped and nicely decorated, with soft pastel colors and airy wicker furnishings. The rooms were of good size and very comfortable for the two of us. We especially enjoyed the kitchen with its wall to wall view of the bay. Also, we had all the appliances we needed to prepare a good meal or to wash our clothes.

The bedroom had a very comfortable bed and a nice size closet with a safe. The bathroom gave us more than adequate storage and a wall of mirror with good lighting.

The living room was pleasant, and we could enjoy the satellite TV with both English and French broadcasts. The terrace, with its pretty plantings was where we chose to spend much of each day, watching the sky and the sea, or reading and swimming. Also, the beach was great for walking or sunbathing, it was never crowded.

The apartment was well maintained, and the cleaning staff did a super job keeping everything in good order. If we found a problem, it was given such speedy attention, we can't remember what it was. If we needed it, there was air condioning available throughout the apartment.

It was a four-minute walk into the heart of the village, where every restaurant was a dinning delight and where we could buy groceries, if we chose to eat in. Le California was our favorite restaurant. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked. The dinning room, open to the sea, was serenaded by the rippling of the waves, and the lovely decorations created a wonderfully relaxing ambiance.

When Zuzu wrote “don’t worry, it's fabulous”, she was absolutely correct. Each day brought beautiful views of the water while lounging on the terrace, great swimming and, of course, the food.

The Dining Capitol of the Caribbean is what they say, and it is the truth. For me, it was also an opportunity to cook a few meals with French ingredients, Bresse chicken and oysters and foie gras and Normandy butter and wonderful cheeses, perfect baguettes and croissant. And, we also appreciated the availability of good French wines.

It was quite easy to get along without a car, the buses, taxis and vans were always available.

We loved our stay so much we decided to go back again next year, for a month.

We arrived Christmas day with our two teenage sons. The room was delightful with a balcony kitchen overlooking the ocean. Enjoyed exploring Grand Case village with its many restaurants and shops. Recommend the French market up the street (La Bounty). Rent a car so you can explore Marigot and Orient Beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We wished we could have stayed longer.

We really enjoyed Hotel Pavillon. It is super clean. It is so close to everything. There’s a grocery store across the street with a very friendly owner. Any type of restaurant you want is in easy walking distance. You couldn't be any closer to the beach. The beach is clean and very quiet. You can also book many types of tour packages at the front desk. We are going back in 2002.
