I wasn't impressed with Hoste Hotel. Visited: October 2005 Posted by sawmeinhalf My room was ransacked, and the management couldn't seem to care less. Visited: May 2004 Posted by ericcjackson This was our first time in St. Martin, and we had a ten-day stay at L'Hoste. We will be going back again next year! You can't beat the location - right on Orient Bay! There was a small village of shops within walking distance, and there were plenty of good restaurants within walking distance or a short drive. The rooms were modern, clean, and spacious and there were plenty of beach activities, restaurants, and fun beach bars nearby. Our hostess, Agnes was fantastic! We saw her almost every day, and she was always looking for ways to make our stay better. Thank you! The restaurant/bar, La Playa, was one of the best on the beach. Look for Frankie and Stephen, who taught me how to play different dart games and introduced us to a number of local people. The Oasis was a good beach bar for meeting people at happy hour - and say "bon jour" to Patrick and Stephen. Hoste Hotel was a beautiful hotel. Visited: April 2004 Posted by confente This was a beautiful hotel very close to the beach. It was also close to a naturalist hotel, so there were naked people on the beach. People here were friendly, and there were some restaurants in the surrounding area. Visited: May 2002 Posted by bschifrin My husband and I enjoyed our stay at L'Hoste tremendously! We found the staff, service and cleanliness of the premises wonderful. Although neither of us speak French, we were completely comfortable and had no difficulty communicating. We found L'Hoste to be in an ideal location and the proximity to Orient Beach was perfect. Excellent Property Visited: May 2001 Posted by tfc_schematic We stayed here for a week and found it to be an excellent place to stay. I could go on and on and on, but I'll stick to the high points. 1) Location- On Orient Beach, which is one of the most famous beaches in the Caribbean. L'Hoste is separated nicely from the beach by a garden path, which adds to the privacy. Some are concerned about naturalists on the grounds, but we didn't see any (not that it would have mattered) on the grounds. 2) Staff - Francoise, the hostess, is excellent, and does all the things she can to make visitors comfortable. 3) Property - L'Hoste is very contemporary and the rooms were incredibly new and well-outfitted. 4) Restaurants - the on-site restaurant (Madras) serves excellent pizzas until 11 pm and is a great place to meet others during happy hour.
