4.0 stars Summit Resort is highly recommended. Visited: March 2007

I have stayed in St. Maarten for approximately 17 years. I usually visit two to three times a year and have stayed at almost every resort here at one time or another.

The Summit is very quiet and close to activities. The people here are great, and they have an excellent "Kissing Fish" bar and restaurant. It's a reasonable cost for breakfast, coctails and the occasional pizza.

Regularly, friends will join me here even if they are staying in other resorts.

The staff does a great job maintaining the rooms, property and the pool.

5.0 stars This property is awesome! Visited: April 2004

This property is secluded and private, but not far from all the hot spots. It is authentically Caribbean in its charm and the staff is excellent.

The rooms are very big, immaculately clean and our room even had a kitchen in it. They have a lovely little cafe/bar with great breakfast and an entertaining happy hour.

I will definitely be going back "asap"!

3.0 stars It was basic, but friendly. Visited: December 2003

The standard rooms were a bit tatty and stale smelling (carpet was not a great idea in a tropical climate). The air conditioning was also very noisy in some rooms.

On the plus side, the staff at the resort was friendly and helpful (especially with late checkouts).

Mullet Bay (great beach) was about a 10- to 15-minute walk and there were some nice restaurants on the way (Italian at Atlantis Casino was very good).

5.0 stars It was a surprising oasis... quiet, garden setting with a view! Visited: July 2002

The Summit is clean, well-kept, private and feels like home. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful. We have been staying here for about seven years.

The deluxe units are studios, but are well appointed (fullsize 'fridge, microwave, blenders and cable TV). And they feel spacious. All have front decks with chairs and a table.

The 'standard' units are set back from the view in a small garden setting and are basic but clean. There is a bar and restaurant- now The Kissing Fish- run by friendly people with the best view on the island and reasonably priced food.

The pool is large and well kept. The resort cats are definitely a plus. We spend two weeks per year here. It is near the new Medical School in a nice residential area with many med students and is within walking distance to small stores and restaurants. Cupecoy is the nearest beach, but you do need a car to get there.

5.0 stars Great simple hotel inland, water views, near beach. Visited: July 2001

This a great hotel for singles, couples and families. My wife and I have been here 3 times as a couple. Also, we have both been here alone and once with our daughter.

The pool is large enough to swim laps or frolic and is clean. The various rooms we have stayed in have been comfortable with the standard rooms being somewhat Spartan. A car or motorcycle/scooter is a must to see the island and get to the many great restaurants.

The only negative I can think of is that the paths leading to the rooms could do with being made more smooth or otherwise refurbished. This place has great views and is worth coming back to time after time for a relaxing holiday.

5.0 stars Quiet and fun Visited: April 2001

My wife and I have owned at Summit for three years. We also own a week at another poular resort on the Dutch side of the island. We find the Summit to be THE place to go to for quiet, relaxing fun.

Overlooking Simpson Bay, the views are breathtaking and there is always a tropical breeze. In our other resort, the air conditioner runs 24 hours a day. At Summit, it is very infrequent that we have to use it at all.

There are no high-pressure sales people and no waits for any maintenance that might be required and the room is cleaned each day.

The Summit is a wonderful, relaxing, place to stay.

The view is beautiful, overlooking Simpson Bay. The staff is friendly and helpful. The pool bar is great fun, and also serves fantastic food.

I would highly recommend!
