What a great place! Visited: May 2007 Posted by lbijc2000 My husband and I got married on St. Maarten in May '07. We had our honeymoon here as well. We stayed at Sol e Luna. This place was beautiful. Every room had a different vibrant color, and was very clean. We were very happy with our decision to stay here. This was my fourth visit to the island, but my first in a Villa in Terres Basses. It's a secluded part with pretty views. I recommend Sol e Luna for everyone; honeymooners, groups or families. There was plenty of room, and lots of great amenities. The only thing I was a little thrown by was that the maid came every day to clean up - and also to feed the dog on the premises. We were on our honeymooon, and we wanted full privacy, so I told her we didn't want her to come until we left. She spoke very little English, so it was hard to communicate -- but we figured it out. She asked me who would feed the dog -- and I said -- "Dog? There's a dog here?". I told her I could feed the dog - which to me was no problem, I love animals. However, my husband is not much of a dog person. I would've let the dog out of the cage so he could run in the fenced in backyard, but my husband didn't want to. The dog was very friendly and didn't bother me. That was really the only thing that threw me off. It was never mentioned there was a dog. What would I have done if I was afraid or allergic to dogs?
