Really nice villa! Visited: June 2009 |
|

| My friends and I truly enjoyed the villa, the view and the service especially the housekeeper who was quite nice and helpful. The location is great for peace and quiet yet close to dining via 10 minute car ride to Grand Case. To party and for most shopping, we went to the Dutch side. No problem. I have been to St. Martin 5 times and stayed at both sides. THIS WAS THE BEST! | |

This undiscovered hotel offers so much. Visited: January 2008 |

| If you want cheap, stick to the three-star hotels. However, for $100 more per day, you can get the luxury of Le Domaine. It offers a beautiful and secluded beach, expansive manicured grounds, amazing dining, first-class service, large rooms and pool. It is a French hotel that is new on the island. We highly recommend it. |

| I suggest you stay away from this place. Forget about all the services - you pay a fortune. You have to be careful with water and electricity, too. It's a shame such a place seems to be run by incompetent people. They don't seem to know anything about luxury! |

This is a great hotel and grounds. Visited: January 2006 |

| This was a wonderful hotel. It was my first all-inclusive vacation, though. I would never do it again. The first night, I waited at least 1 to 1 1/2 hours for dinner, and it did not improve much as the week progressed. The food was excellent, but the service was beyond poor. |

| I had a really good rest. The tropical garden was a real haven of peace. I thoroughly recommend Le Domaine to those who want to get away from it all! | |

| Just to say that le Meridien is no longer running these properties, Le Domaine and l'Habitation are now two separate entities. Le Domaine has just reopened after 18 months of renovation works and will be happy to welcome you all with its new international team. It was a very nice villa, but not for little children. Visited: July 2005 |
|
| Posted by finlady66 | |
| Villa Joelle was very nice, but not safe for children. There was not enough room around the pool to walk, and the ground was tiled which made it very slippery. The bedrooms were all very nice, but separated by the outdoors. I did not like that I could not get to my children without going outside. The house was completely open to any one who wanted to come in. We felt that at any time, someone could walk right in to the villa. I would of prefered the living area and bedrooms to be together (connecting) because we had little children with us (ages 2-13). If it was all adults I would have been fine with the set up. The view from the house was very nice, and the location was great. I would suggest this villa to adults. One last thing is - if you're going to go in the summer, be ready for the heat and the bugs! |

Overall, this was a relaxing andsecluded island. Visited: November 2004 |

| As a couple in our twenties, we really enjoyed the resort because it was secluded and relaxing. We would not recommend this resort for people going to party. The food was good, although there was not a lot of variety. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. And the entertainment in the evening was great. There was something different to enjoy every night. We would recommend this resort to couples of any age who want a relaxing vacation. |

Do not stay at Le Meridien! Visited: January 2005 |
|
| Posted by mikejoseph | |
| What happened to the luxury hotel chain called Le Meridien? It no longer exists. What you end up with is The Holiday Inn with no service. Everything is overpriced and underserviced. They do not deserve to take my money. The hotel is falling apart.Sell it to someone who wants to be in the hotel business so they can return it to its former glory. The irony is that Le Meridien has so much potential.Under current management/ownership it will never reach it. Do not even think about staying here. |

BEWARE!!!! Visited: April 2004 |

| I have been fighting with my credit card companies since my stay at this dump!Somebody at the hotel got ahold of my credit card number while I was there in April and keeps charging charges that come up on my credit card as Le Merdian. The place was a night mere that keeps coming back to haunt me!It is not like my trip to this dump was bad enough..it won't go away!If you have to go to St.Martin.Don't stay here there are too many other better places to stay.Try La Sammana or anything on the dutch side.( The Dutch were much more friendly than the mean ole french)However, meals were great on the french side in Grand Case.Forget eatting at Le Merdian. The Buffet in the steaming sun was rude! And, unless you want to watch your hair turn grey as you wait for dinner at any of the resturants at L Merdian for that matter! One good thing...Champagne was cheap and quite good which helps since you are treated like a dog!I have nothing nice to say so I better stop.I am trying a British Island next.No more naked french that shouldn't be "nakey"! | |

Le Meridien has a beautiful beach, but is a rundown hotel. Visited: December 2004 |
|
| Posted by expertidea | |
| Service really didn't seem to exist here. Decor was 1960s, garish (not at all tropical) and spartan. Meals were better in Grand Case. Their funds must have been spent on external impression. I think they'd be better spent on training the staff. My lasting impression was of a "has been" hotel - once a fine place (location, beach and grounds), that has been allowed to age ungracefully. I found that meals, amenities, entertainment, phone, TV, etc. were all severely lacking here. |

Our stay was very enjoyable. Visited: November 2004 |

| We visited this resort in the middle of November. It was just right for us. We are in our early sixties, and we are not the late night party types. You would definitely need a car here, and can rent one at the hotel, at a very reasonable price. The food was very good, we were on all-inclusive. We had no complaints about food, drinks, etc. The staff in the restaurants were a bit slow, but hey, we were on vacation, so what was an extra few minutes. If you speak to the in the right manner, they will look after you. The resort itself could be modernized with some fresh paint. The rooms were clean, but kind of bare. The beach was nice and secluded, and no one bothered us. The people in the reception area were very obliging, we had no complaints at all. We had a very nice time here, and would certainly visit again. |

What a secluded treasure! Visited: July 2003 |

| What a treat this resort was! It was so secluded and empty (it was off-season)... a perfect atmosphere to just relax and forget about it all! There was an activities booth that set up several day trips for us to nearby islands... it was easy, efficient, and well-worth it! Also, the people here were nice and always helpful. We would definitely recommend it and return here if ever back on St. Martin. |

This was the perfect getaway. Visited: August 2004 |

| This hotel was just what two tired New Yorkers needed. The service was excellent and there was really nothing to grump about. The islanders do have a slower pace of doing things, so to get around, hire a car. One at the resort costs $28 a day and it's the only way to see everything and get to the beaches. The resort was very secluded which was nice, and very, very quiet. As far as food went, we can recommend "La Vie en Rose", in Marigot and the "Belle France" on site was also good. There was no end of places in Grand Case, too. Also, the " Boo Boo Jam" cafe on the Orient Beach is a must. It was away from all the other touristy places and they served a triple rum and coke for $3, enjoy and relax, this place is paradise! |

They seemed to hate Americans. Visited: April 2004 |
|
| Posted by wtennant | |
| This was the nightmare vacation of our lives. It seemed like once they find out that we were American..forget about it! We were yelled at, ignored, staff seemed to pretend they didn't see us, hear us, and generally ignored us. We own a restaurant, so when we go away, we want to tip and be nice. But if you are thinking of staying here - if anyone is really hell bent on staying here - I suggest you take the money that you would have spent on this trip and set it on fire. It will make you feel better than a trip to Le Merdien! |

perfect location, nice beach, NO 5 stars. Visited: January 2004 |

| Stayed in Le Domaine for a week in Januari 2004. The resort is worn out. Staff at reception & restaurants are defintly NOT friendly, and i must say we are young people who adjust easily, but never a smile, or a friendly attitude, the staff dont cares. La belle France the main restaurant is poor, the service is very bad, staff is aggresive.. (due to all inclusive) Go out and eat outside, just in front of the hotel are 2 good options. In Domaine there is La Verandah, service is good here, Breakfast very poor & simple, but good, Location superb. Diner at La verandah is like it shoot be, good food & Service. Beach is nice, Beachbeds & furniture old, dirty, and 60 % was broken. Dont expect 5 stars, at least 3 stars+ Rooms are clean and spacy. Tippical Le meridien, Good looks, bad maintenance (repairs) |

Privilege Resort offered excellence and style. Visited: January 2003 |

| I stayed two weeks in this absolute luxury place. It was an exquisite accommodation, far from the maddening crowd. They also employed a very dedicated staff. My villa was of outstanding beauty and luxury. They also had one of the most wonderful beaches of the island, a complete gym with coach, and a nice spa -rare on the island. Breakfast was just whatever you wanted -if you asked, it was on the table. I would love to go back any time. |

Could have done without the ants.... Visited: June 2003 |
|
| Posted by candacel | |
| After originally being booked at the Maho Beach Resort, which the web site neglected to mention was right beside the airport, the peace and quiet of Le Meridien was a welcome relief. The hotel is surrounded by mountains. The grounds were extremely well maintained and beautiful. The beach was lovely as well. This was not a service oriented hotel, but if you wanted a drink you could get it yourself from the bar. The on site restaurants were adequate although expensive. My main problem with this hotel were the ants in my room. The manager was kind enough to show me three other rooms, unfortunately they also had ants. They sent someone in to spray but the ants persisted thoughout our stay. The attitude my complaints were met with was, this is the Caribbean, we have ants. Which is fine, except I do not expect to find ants in my bed in a four star hotel. Except for the ants it would have been a lovely place to stay. | |

It exceeded my expectations. Visited: April 2003 |

| After much research, we booked our honeymoon at Le Meridien. The resort exceeded our expectations. We booked a suite on the L'Domaine side of the property. I can only comment on this side, since we really didn't see the L'Habitation side (although it did look somewhat less appealing than Domaine). Our suite was very spacious with a large balcony facing the lagoon, and a small balcony off the side since we had a choice end unit suite. The layout of the suite was nice. There were two separate areas to get ready with sinks and a nice sized hot tub in the bedroom area. Be prepared to walk to the amenities, as the resort was rather spread out. This added to the privacy, though. The included deluxe breakfast each day was outstanding with fresh fruit, croissants, omelets made to order, etc. We also tried the various small restaurants on the property. They were sub-par compared to the wonderful restaurant options in nearby Grand Case. My suggestion would be to skip them and head to Grand Case every night and sample the various places along the beach. Bar service was typically slow - as in most other areas of the Caribbean. It was pretty much self-serve by the pool, the staff didn't seek guests out to see if they wanted anything - which was fine by us. The beach was adequate. I didn't care for the Lagoon Beach as I prefer open ocean style beaches like Orient Beach, which was just ten minutes away. We stayed nine nights. Overall, it was a really nice experience. Tips: Try the Grand Case restaurants such as L'Pressoir or Il Neptune for Italian. For a special meal, try the restaurant at La Sammana. They had an excellent view on the water and good food, but it was very expensive. also, rent a car. You'll need it for trips into Marigot and Phillipsburg - although the hotel offered daily shuttle trips to both towns. Cuban cigar lovers should go to La Casa Del Habanos in Marigot. They had an excellent selection and good service. |
