Visited: July 2003 Posted by j_lisa04 On July 13th 2003, my family was visiting St. Vincent for the first time. On our final morning of July 15th 2003, I was awakened by management at 3:00 am asking me if I was missing anything. I was in shock when I realized my room was robbed. There were two security persons who saw someone jump from the room. They did not pursue this person because they had to check with the manager, Michelle Lowrie. This allowed the thief to go through my bags and remove all valuable contents (cash, travelers checks, and sentimental expensive jewelry were gone). The security returned to look for this person, but by then he ran and threw my bags at them. I couldn’t even identify the hotel security. How did he get into my room? I was on the fourth floor, with no balcony, and the window was found open. This window could only be opened from the inside. I feel one or more employees were involved. The manager did not offer any support. I left for the airport at 6:30 am, returned back to Montreal. Still in shock, I contacted Mrs. Lowrie at the hotel, July 18th. I was told the owner, Mrs. DaSilva, would contact me. It has now been three months and not one word of concern from Michelle Lowrie or Mr. DaSilva. This was the first time I was involved in a crime of this nature and have been left feeling totally violated. Visited: November 2002 Posted by fsparkle9 I recently visited St.Vincent to attend my grandmother's funeral, a very sad occasion indeed. My stay at the New Haddon Hotel was an uplifting experience for me. The management and staff was very hospitable and friendly. Their attitude brightened up my somewhat somber disposition and I am grateful to them for that. The room was very spacious and well furnished, and the staff did an excellent job in maintaining the cleanliness of the rooms on a daily basis. My only complaint was that the restaurant prices were expensive. If the management is able to reduce that somewhat, it would be far more competitive, considering there are a number of nearby restaurants within a five-minute walk which offers good food at very low prices. I am hoping to revisit St.Vincent for Carnival in 2003 and will most definitely stay here again. Visited: June 2002 Posted by dineal The service was prompt and courteous. The staff made every effort to accommodate the requests of the guests in a friendly and efficient manner. Its location just on the outskirts of Kingston was also convenient.
