The people and the property were great! Visited: December 2005 Posted by raymond The staff can make a good place great, or make a great place loathsome. The staff of the Grand View Hotel was a shining example of service and caring. The food at the hotel itself was just fair. (One of the two restaurants at the hotel was under renovation). There were plenty of good places to eat on the island, and some really wonderful places, if you don't mind a short boat trip. I loved having the hotel just above the beach. And having a restaurant just 25 yards or so from the beach was a plus. They had very clean and Caribbean-feeling rooms, so we didn't feel like we were in one of any number of hotels. Visited: December 2005 Posted by karen2 We were a little unsure of the rooms based on the pictures here, but we found them (and the property) to be even more beautiful than expected. The lovely rooms we stayed in were at the south end of the hotel, and had stunning views. The staff was charming, and the rate was excellent. The only minor disappointment was the food, which ranged from fair to good, but there was other good dining nearby.
