New Montrose is a good quality, friendly and proficient accommodation. Visited: August 2004 Posted by caromar The New Montrose had very spacious bedrooms, with a variety of different amenities.The decor was very tastefully done. I had a kitchenette, and air conditioning. I also had two double beds in my room- both were very handy with a child. I did not request this room option, and can only assume that the staff interpreted what my needs would be. The staff was very welcoming and tremendous, nothing was too much trouble. They also had a great sense of fun. The chambermaids did a great job, while working well within ecological parameters. The hotel resturant was stunning, with a slight colonial feel to it, and a great view of Kingstown and Bequia in the distance. The quality and presentation of food was second to none, as was the service. If you want relaxation, New Montrose goes a long way to helping you achieve this and was a good value for the money. Location, location, location! Visited: August 2002 Posted by teddyja We were within walking distance to everywhere. They also had friendly and helpful staff. We suggest you eat off-site, as prices in the restaurant were high and quality was not. The hotel offered two basis room rates while we were there: $80 suites and $60 rooms, but I had gotten a cheaper rate on a suite (#5) through an Internet site. The receptionist had never seen a prepaid voucher before and asked for a credit card imprint and at checkout was preparing to charge me for the prepaid rooms. I added an extra day and actually paid $60 rate plus 17% tax and service charge (Room #14). For just 1 night room #14 was acceptable, but I am sure that management knows that the old rooms need major improvement. I could not have imagined spending the whole time in room #14 as everything was rusting. So close to Gardens, buses and town. Visited: December 2001 Posted by eulie51 Our family of four spent Christmas at New Montrose. It was a pleasure for us all. The view of Kingstown Harbour and the entire neighbourhood was a treat. Our teens especially liked the TV reception. Also, the staff was very pleasant and helpful.
