We enjoyed our honeymoon here.Visited: September 2008

I was trying to decide on somewhere in the Caribbean that was strategic for a honeymoon. I decided to give St. Vincent a try and, naturally, I had to find a place that was ideal.
I needed somewhere that was not too expensive, had a great ocean view, was quiet, employed friendly staff, and was in close proximity to the airport. I was also looking for a clean facility, with Internet access, A/C, good food, and other creature comforts.
After doing a thorough search and weighing my options, I realized that Richview Guesthouse met all the criteria. After visiting here, I was not disappointed at all. Hats off to Michael and Laverne, the managers.

We stayed here in November 2007 for three nights, and what a delight.
The food was exceptional, and the staff was very attentive and so friendly.
We had a sea view room with spectacular views over Young Island and the sea. However, the rooms were in need of updating. They were clean, comfortable and had everything we needed, though.
It was a great base to explore from and we are looking forward to coming back again.

At all times during our stay at this hotel, we felt loved. The front office people were very friendly, and helped us out with many things - such as taxi arrangements, excursions and flight confirmation.
The food in the restaurant was excellent, and the waitresses were always interested in our possible needs.
We really felt loved by everyone: the staff, and the manager, who made us feel very welcome.
We love you too, guys! We can't wait to come back.

We loved the hotel; the food was excellent; the service was fantastic; and the view was amazing. We loved the walk to and from the city hub - just ten minutes.
We also liked the old Colonial charm, yet with all the amentities and service was 21st century. It was lovely to have coffee on the patio overlooking the harbour.
If we could give more then five stars - we would.

We have been to Rosewood many times over the last five years. The rooms are spacious with very well equipped kitchenettes.
Service is first class. Eeverybody at Rosewood makes you feel welcome. There is plenty of information about St. Vincent and the Grenadine Islands in the reception area to make you holiday one to remember.

I stayed here with the intention of staying for two or three nights. When I arrived, I was offered a room, but was told it did not have a balcony (of which I accepted). The rate was $135 per night - plus 17% tax.
The next morning I asked for a change of room or a reduction in the rate. I was told that the price was the same, and that it was the only room available, as this was kept and only used as an overspill room.
The room was very noisy from traffic and from the air conditioner. I thought this room was just one of the "hole in the wall" types. The room also had a very strong musty smell.
The location was far from ideal as it involved a long walk to the beach and was far from any attractions or other activities.
After consideration, I decided to phone around to find another hotel....at 10.30am I went to checkout, and guess what! They offered to only charge me $88 for the next night, but offered no reduction for the first night. I refused the offer.
I left and checked into 'The Cobblestones Inn' at just $75 (inclusive). It was a little paradise.
Believe me, the Villa Lodge is very overrated and overpriced. I would certainly not recommend Villa Lodge to anyone, or visit the place again.

Roys Inn boasts excellent staff, food and amenities!Visited: January 2006

The hotel was very clean and comfortable, with wonderful, friendly staff. It was located a short walk from town, so there was no need to taxi in.
The food was excellent, and we found no reason to dine elsewhere. It was definitely worth a return trip. This hotel and island was well worth the transfer through Barbados, which was without a single glitch.
I feel the time is coming where more and more people will know of and travel to St. Vincent. And when they do, it will definitely put Roy's Inn on the top of your short list of places to check out to stay.

The Cobblestone Inn is a comfortable, well-run establishment; ideal for businessVisited: September 2005

I spent four nights at the Cobblestone Inn in September, 2005. My business took me to Kingstown, and I could not have asked for a more central location.
The hotel was located about ten minutes by cab from the airport. The rooms ranged (at time of writing) from $70 - $90 per night.
The hotel had hardwired high speed internet service available in the two rooms on the first floor.
Room 28 was an old converted jewelry store with beautiful wrought iron doors. It had two queen-sized beds, a refrigerator, iron, many electrical (220h) outlets and satellite television.
My only minor complaint was that there could be a phone on the work desk. As it was, it was not possible to work on the computer at the desk and talk on the phone at the same time. It was a minor inconvenience.
Sandra, whom it seemed works all day, every day at reception, was wonderful and took care of my every need.
I did not try the hotel restaurant, so I cannot comment on its quality.
If you are in downtown St. Vincent on business, I highly recommend this hotel. After all, I have reserved six rooms for a week for an upcoming meeting on the island.

I first stayed in this hotel in the summer of 1998, and was absolutely bowled over by its comfort and beauty.
We returned to St. Vincent in the summer of 2003 to visit my husband's family. And, as a special treat for my birthday(which I celebrated while there), he booked one night in the Mariners Hotel, in their best room with an excellent sea view.
We dined by candlelight in their beautiful restaurant. We enjoyed the most delightful food and listened to the sounds of the waves gently lapping. The staff was great, and even brought out a special birthday dessert with a candle and sang happy birthday to me.
This place really felt like I was in paradise. I would certainly recommend it to anyone - it really was magical.

We stayed a month at Rosewood.
Our apartment was excellent. It was very spacious with cable tv, air conditioning, fitted kitchen, all the comforts we could need. The view from the balcony was superb, and we could see many of the Grenadines in the distance and Young Island very clearly just below.
Janet, the owner, and her staff were all very friendly and could not do enough to make our stay a very happy one. I would recommend this apartment/hotel to anybody as a superb place to stay and get to know the Grenadine Islands.

We stayed at the Villa Lodge Hotel after a sailing trip around the Grenadines.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful with reservations for a sightseeing trip and our somewhat complicated flight confirmations.
The rooms were large and comfortably furnished. We appreciated the choice of air conditioning or a fan. The food in the hotel's restaurant was some of the best we had on the island.

It is a beautiful property- but the staff is lacking.Visited: October 2004

My husband and I just returned from an eight-night stay on Young Island. While I agree with the other posters that the property was beautiful, the cold, unhelpful staff put a damper on an otherwise five-star property.
I appear to be in the minority, as others have raved about the service. For example- we were never greeted with so much as a “Hello” or smile whenever we entered the office. After initiating a greeting and making a request/asking a question, the front desk staff’s response was often a blank stare or an “I don’t know”.
Simple things like making SCUBA reservations, fixing a clogged toilet, finding out what time the ferries ran (conflicting schedules were posted) and purchasing stamps were a huge hassle.
While the restaurant/bar staff was a little better, no one seemed happy to be there, and smiles were few and far between. And don’t even think about taking out a complimentary sunfish for a sail unless you want to have the beach attendant standing with his arms crossed staring at you the entire time and glaring at you if you came anywhere near the border of the “safe” sailing zone.
Bottom line: great property, but short on service.

New Montrose is a good quality, friendly and proficient accommodation.Visited: August 2004

The New Montrose had very spacious bedrooms, with a variety of different amenities. The decor was very tastefully done. I had a kitchenette, and air conditioning. I also had two double beds in my room- both were very handy with a child. I did not request this room option, and can only assume that the staff interpreted what my needs would be.
The staff was very welcoming and tremendous, nothing was too much trouble. They also had a great sense of fun.
The chambermaids did a great job, while working well within ecological parameters.
The hotel resturant was stunning, with a slight colonial feel to it, and a great view of Kingstown and Bequia in the distance. The quality and presentation of food was second to none, as was the service.
If you want relaxation, New Montrose goes a long way to helping you achieve this and was a good value for the money. It was also near the lovely botanical gardens, and had lovely landscaped areas itself.

Young Island is the perfect place to forget what time it is, what day it is and even forget who you are. Rest and relaxation is the order of the day on this secluded resort.
My wife and I honeymooned here for a week and it was wonderful, from our welcome down to the glass of wine we had the night before we left.

I have stayed at the hotel (ten weeks in all) for each of my four business trips to beautiful St. Vincent.
My second trip this year in late February had a memorable moment as I was greeted upon my arrival at the front desk with a simple "Welcome Home" and a big smile from the pretty office manager. No two words could have ever had more of an impact in summarizing my experiences and expectations at this hotel.
The meals, special requests, and services were all top notch complete with some "extra special" treatment. In fact, I must return and will do so this time with my wife and daughter for a two-week vacation during the 2004 Carnival celebration this summer. I can't wait to get back "home".
