It was superb! Visited: March 2008
Posted by triniprince
A co-worker of mine and I stayed here during the weekend of March 28, 2008. Coming as employees of the five-star Hyatt Regency, we have been trained in the highest standards and how to provide the highest quaility serivce.

The front desk staff at the hotel was very friendly, warm, and interactive. They were always providing an option "B" if "A" wasn't availible. They addressed guests by name all the time, and we were given the feeling that we were at a relative's house.

The hot tubs were sweet, as was the pool. Also, the amenities that came with the apartments were mind blowing.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Natasha at the front desk would see to it that you had a great stay.

It was just perfect heaven. Visited: February 2008

We have just come back from two heavenly weeks staying at Sandy Point Beach Club and I simply can not say enough nice things about it. All the staff were utter blissikins - super helpful, obliging and could not do to ensure our holiday was perfect.

Our room was 201, and simply lovely. It was huge with a fully equipped kitchen etc - there is everything you would ever need and more!

When you are at Sandy Point be sure to spend some time in the club house as the staff there are just hilarious. Elvira, Quentin et al are so fun - and the happy hour rum punch is prepared for guests as a welcome treat!

Use the shuttle service to get to the beach, but it is an easy walk to Pigeon Point and Store Bay which also have great food and a bar. Pigeon Point is a beautiful beach, but there is a a certain touristy feel to it. Go to Store Bay or PP corner - Quentin will drop you off if you ask him nicely.

The restaurants must be booked! This is a really important point as you will be disppointed - Dillons, Bonkers and Coco Cafe are all must visits. I am so jealous if you are about to book your holiday to SPBC - you will be lucky to spend time here.

I wish I was going back tomorrow!

Sandy Point Beach Club is the place to be. Visited: October 2007
Posted by annette17
October of this year 2007 was my first visit to Tobago. Although I was born in Trinidad, I live in Canada.

This beach club stood out to be one of the best in the Caribbean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. All conveniences were at the unit, with very clean surroundings. My overall view of The Sandy Point Beach Club was that it was a world class accommodation.

I will recommend this place to all of my family and friends, and I will be going back in the near future. It is my wish to purchase a time share very soon.

I would like to see more local foods available for sale on the premises, which I think would be a plus to all.

A job well done by the staff of Sandy Point Beach Club and its management. One special thanks to the security guard at the front (whose name I cannot remember) for transportation to and from the airport.

Thank you all!

Sandy Point Beach Club is wonderful. Visited: April 2006

We finally made it back to Sandy Point Beach Club. This place is still as great as it was during our last visit a few years ago. We enjoy the casual atmosphere. The staff make us feel like we were part of their family. They are all so helpful and kind.

Our room looked out onto the ocean. We had a large, oceanfront patio outside our room. The sunsets out onto the ocean, with palms, and a palapa at the end of a pier, are beautiful and serene.

Our room was very comfortable and clean, with a fully stocked kitchen, sitting area and bedroom with a queen bed. Also, the air conditioning worked very well.

If there is anything you need, the staff is happy to bring it to you, or steer you in the right direction. The convenient mini-store is a treat. The prices were comparable to the larger markets.

I love Tobago. The people are wonderful, and the island is the most beautiful I've seen to date. I want it to stay timeless. We noticed that cell phones and a few wave-runners have found thier way to the island, but that's life.

Yes, We still plan on returning to Sandy Point Beach Club in the future. It is a long way from our home in San Diego, but the ride is well worth it!

Sandy Point was heavenly. Visited: July 2004

After a wonderful one-week stay, we are already trying to get back to Sandy Point Beach Club in Tobago.

The beachfront was beautiful and included the Palapa, who's photo on the web, attracted us to this destination. Every day someone caught fish off the end of this point.

We traveled the island, and found beach after beach to be clear and divable. Tropical fish and beautiful coral were everywhere. The jellyfish didn't even bite!

The people of Tobago were the nicest people I have ever met in my life. We made many friends, beginning with the hotel staff and continuing throughout the island.

The hotel was fresh and clean, modern and comfortable. We didn't need to leave for anything if we didn't want to, since the staff and grocery store could meet all of our needs. They provided tours, dive lessons, driving and dining suggestions. All of this without that odd feeling of being in a huge Hilton style hotel. This had a family feeling to it.

Activities were planned by the staff on a daily basis. There was no chance for boredom, but if you preferred to just relax, that was always possible.

Sandy Point at Tobago is the place I've been trying to get to all my life!

Horrible Service Visited: July 2004
Posted by rrdeen
My friend I and went to visit Tobago this summer and chose to stay at Sandy Point Resort because of the value.

We were greeted with the poorest service I have ever received! The air conditioning in the room did not work and when asked if this could be fixed, the receptionist suggested that we fix it ourselves.

The bathroom was in poor condition and the hot water did not work.

In addition, there was no remote control for the tv and dinner at the resort's restaurant was way overpriced.

I will NEVER go back to Sandy Point and will have to ask around next time. I will be willing to pay a bit more for better service than this!

This was the most excellent, almost heavenly beach resort in Tobago. Visited: May 2004

I thought this resort was quite heavenly.

It was perfect for a peaceful vacation, with its beach front location. The Karaoke night was great, and they had a lovely pool and wonderful hot tubs. It would be perfect for groups, and there was easy access to facilities.

Excellent, despite the service Visited: October 2003
Posted by wild14me
Excellent location, beautiful surroundings however the staff seemed more friendly to the foreign tourists as opposed to the local visiting Trinidadians.
The hot water was non existent most days; the water wouldn't come out of the shower only the foot pipe, so we had to bathe in a bucket. The security guard banged on our gallery glass to tell us to move the childrens armbands off the seat in the gallery, which I thought was absolutely pointless. However the beautiful surroundings more than made up for the service.

This is a lovely place. Visited: September 2003

The place was lovely, peaceful, quiet and relaxing. It had all the amenites for a great vacation.

While I strongly recommend this resort to anyone, there was little to be said about the staff, as upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted with poor reception. As the first form of contact with the resort, this was not very good, as it reflected on the professionalism of the staff.

Also, after a night out, we were awakened the following morning by someone trying to enter the room. It was the cleaner who came to change the towels. She did not say 'good morning' or anything and was proceeding to take the only towels from the room without a replacement.

When we told here we had not showered, her reply was "I thought you all bathed already", and left saying she will be back in an hour. From that I assumed my friend and I had no choice but to get up.

The hot water did not work throughout the length of time we were here, despite having requested someone to look at it from the very first night we were here. Again, there was no communication from staff regarding the status of our complaint.

Despite these observations, again I must say it was a lovely place and I look forward to visiting again.

It was fairly good. Visited: May 2003

Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted with poor reception, the keys for the room were given to us by the receptionist and told,
"the room was somewhere on that side," while pointing in somewhat of a direction. Being puzzled, we asked for a proper location of this room.

The place was extremely beautiful and the different locations of the pools were nice. The room was comfortable, but the toilet had a "fishy" smell. We had to ask for towels, and the water in the hot water tap felt almost like cold water.

The service was okay but needed some improvement. We did enjoy our stay despite the few problems we had and would return if going to Tobago again.

Checking out of the hotel on our last day, the receptionist never rose head from whatever she was reading behind the desk and said, "I hope you have enjoyed your stay here, please do come again." This shows her communication skills are very poor.

I would recommend for people to go Sandy Point Beach Club. It is a great place to stay despite the few problems we had here.

I want to go back! Visited: March 2003

We just returned from our second visit to Tobago and the Sandy Point Beach Club. It was marvelous! We had a lovely efficiency apartment with a patio and a great view of the ocean.

Along with wonderful accommodations, the staff was what really made this place exceptional. Elvira was a goddess. Leroy took us on the best tour ever. Pauline and Ann cooked us great food, even going out of their way to feed us one night when the island lost electricity. Everyone at this place was friendly and we felt like we were guests, not visitors.

The grounds were beautiful, the hot tubs were relaxing, and the sunsets were beyond compare. We loved it so much we bought a timeshare unit to make sure we can visit year after year. Keep up the great work!

A piece of heaven. Visited: September 2002
Posted by LENorberg
My husband, two young children and I just returned from Sandy Point Beach Club in Tobago. We were so excited about this resort and encountered the nicest people we have ever met (especially Elvira), that we decided to purchase a timeshare with them. We didn't want to take a chance of not being able to go back to our piece of heaven, Sandy Point.

The room we stayed in had everything you could possibly want or need. The people were helpful, friendly, and they were truly the greatest people we have ever met. Our children (3 years and 14 months) were known by name by almost every employee at Sandy Point. The loving attention and help they provided us with the children was remarkable. Our 3 year old talks about his "Tobago friends" every day and asks when we will go see them again.

Being a diver, I dove with Frontier Divers located at the resort. I had one of the best dives I have ever had. Sharks, turtles, rays, eels, lobster, beautiful corals, fans etc. The divemasters were fun, and made the dive memorable. They took care of my personal gear with great care and I didn't have to do a thing - they did it for me.

The food and service were wonderful at the resort, as well as at other locations they recommended. The grocery store on site had everything we needed which was a life saver when we ran out of diapers, juice etc. The pool was also great. Our children could play in the children's pool without us having to hold them, and we all had a great time in the bigger pool.

Pidgeon Point beach was beautiful. The security staff was always walking around making us feel secure. The van drivers were pointing out points of interest anytime we went somewhere and were so helpful with our children and our double stroller.

Our idea for OUR perfect vacation was peace and quiet with nothing to do except relax and enjoy our children. We got all that plus picture perfect sunsets, beautiful landscaping and room decor, a playground for the children, and the opportunity to meet the sweetest people, who we now consider our friends!

Our thanks to everyone at Sandy Point Beach Club for giving us our perfect vacation. We are counting the days until next year when we will return.

Wow! Visited: April 2002

My fiance and I were at The Sandy Point Beach Club for three wonderful weeks, and the resort catered for all of our needs.

The place was clean and safe, and the room we had was not only big, but it was full of everything we needed. Also, the sunsets from our patio were breathtaking.

The staff was very nice and we found it very hard to leave them. Leroy, the resorts tour guide, was a great guy. He taught us a lot about the island. Also, Tessa, on reception, helped us find some wonderful places to eat out, she answered all of the questions we had about the island, and made our stay worry-free. She was fabulous!

The ladies at the cafe were great fun and provided us with some lovely Creole cooking.

The resort was near everything, including the airport, but we couldn't hear the few planes that did arrive because they were very quiet.

We have some wonderful memories of this place, the amazing island with its beautiful postcard views and of the friendly people. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking fora holiday to remember.

What a special and unique place! It was memorable. Visited: April 2002

We just got back from a wonderful week at Sandy Point Beach Club, and we are making plans to return.

The room was large, clean and very comfortable. The staff at the resort was outstanding and made us feel special. Since I am a diver, and heard Tobago had pristine diving, we decided it was our next vacation adventure.

The decision turned out to be more than we anticipated. The dive shop on-site was Frontier Divers - with Big Doug (I renamed him Big Daddy), Little Doug, and KerryAnn. I have been a diver for the past 20 years and have experienced dives all over the world. Going on several dives with these guys made my vacation. They were one of the best teams that I have gone diving with.

Big Daddy and Little Doug gave personal service, were concerned about safety, were friendly, and had a sense of humor. On my dives, I encountered sharks, rays, turtles, a lot of fish, fans and sponges. I also did a 90-foot wreck dive. I recommend Frontier Dive Shop to anyone who loves to dive. They were good!

We rented a car for the week and toured the island. The people were friendly and very helpful when we needed directions. The island was beautiful with its rain forests, waterfalls and beaches.

The food was delicous and relatively inexpensive. There were several very good restaurants within walking distance from the resort. We never had a bad meal! The weather was warm and sunny. We would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing, comfortable vacation, with good diving and snorkeling, in a friendly atmosphere with good local food. Go Tobago!

This place is amazing! Visited: October 2001

I can't say enough about this wonderful place.

First of all, Tobago itself was amazing- it truly was paradise. The Sandy Point Beach Club was the most wonderful part of it all. My husband and I stayed here for seven days and nights during our honeymoon in October of 2001, and it was perfect.

The staff was so friendly and extremely helpful, the grounds were clean and the rooms were very comfortable. It wasn't the Four Seasons, but Tobago was a very laid-back place and there were few places with Four Season-type luxury.

It was a great location for walking to Store Bay and to lots of great restaurants in Crown Point. The beach on the property was a bit lacking, but Sandy Point's pool and three great hot tubs made up for it. And, if you walked about 100 feet, you could find your own private beaches.

They also offered a shuttle service to Pigeon Point (the best beach in Tobago, which was about a five-minute ride) every day.

I highly, highly recommend staying here! When we go back, we certainly will.

We just came back from Sandy Point Beach Club and would highly recommend both the accommodation and the island. The staff were wonderful, the units spotless, and the island truly beautiful. People were very helpful, even when we didn't ask. All we had to do was look lost, and a voice would come out of nowhere asking where we wanted to go. Would definitely go back.
