This is a vacation in Paradise! Visited: April 2008 |

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending our recent honeymoon at Sunset Valley Estate on Tobago. It was fantastic. I have traveled the world, and I can honestly say that I have never stayed at a cleaner and better-maintained house than Sunset Valley. It was immaculately kept. Our laundry was done daily, beds were made daily, bathrooms cleaned daily and fresh linen on the fourth day. Wow. The views were breath taking, as well.
However, the best part of the trip wasn’t the wonderful villa or the fantastic views and gardens, but the warm hospitality of our hosts, Mom and Pop. Mom made sure everything was perfect and Pop acted as our local guide. It was so comforting to have them there. It was really like being home, but in paradise.
We can absolutely and without reservation highly recommend Sunset Valley to anyone looking for a rental villa in Tobago. It was much better than advertised and probably more than we hoped for. We will be back next year, too! |

This is the best place to stay ever! Visited: March 2008 |

We had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Sunset Valley Estate this past March. It was wonderful in every sense of the word.
The villa and grounds were extremely well maintained. The views were spectacular, and the hospitality was the best feature of all. It’s the best vacation we have ever had, and the best place we've visited.
You find very few things in life that are better than advertised, but Sunset Valley was more than we expected or even hoped for. We have read other reviews which stated this same feeling, and this was one of the deciding factors as to why we chose this particular villa. We now echo those exact sentiments. Sunset Valley is better than advertised.
We can heartily recommend this to any future visitor to Tobago. We know we will be back. |

We had a happy 25th anniversary here. Visited: January 2008 |

It’s been two years since we last visited Sunset Valley Estate. And with our 25th wedding anniversary on 1-21-08, we decided to take another trip here to celebrate our special time.
Again, we were not disappointed. It was like seeing old friends again. Mom and Pops welcomed us like family they hadn’t seen in a while.
The facilities were still as impeccable as before. I can’t say enough about the estate and the quality people here. This is a must stay if you’re planning a trip to Tobago!
This is now an annual trip for us - it’s that special. |

Sunset Valley is my perfect sunset! Visited: November 2007 |

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Sunset Valley. The home, the view, and the surroundings were everything one would imagine their Caribbean vacation to be.
One can appreciate the serene view, the feeling of being in the middle of the rain forest, and the simplicity that the home near Englishman’s Bay has to offer.
I will be going back. |

We enjoyed a great holiday break at Sunset Valley Estate Visited: October 2007 |

To save you trawling all through this review - I would whole heartedly recommend this place for a wonderfully relaxing holiday.
We booked this house for the first week of our two-week stay, and we booked a house in Bon Accord for the second week.
It was about an hour's drive (about 15 mile only, though) from the airport. Definitely take up the offer of being met at the airport, and guided home.
Our first thoughts were that the place was really good, but you must read the rest now.
This house sat atop a hill, and had stunning views for virtually 360 degrees. Just down the hill was Englishman's Bay - that was beautiful and deserted. Mom and Pop, who looked after the house, were truly lovely people and helped make our holiday a relaxing one.
I would suggest you accept their wonderful hospitality, otherwise you could waste a lot of the holiday looking for essentials to eat and drink - it really was an unspoiled part of the world.
The house had a veranda nearly all the way around the house, and we could choose to sit in the sun or in the shade. There was plenty of room. Of course, there was the pool (with outside toilet and separate shower room with plenty of fresh towels - always).
There was also a welcome breeze to keep you cool and keep mosquitoes at bay (we never saw one and we were here in the rainy season).
The rooms all had double doors on each side of the house that opened fully so every room became part of the great outside.
If you love city life, you will not like this place - or even Tobago to be honest. As you would imagine, three acres of grounds gives plenty of space -but be warned it is a little hilly.
Also, this is not a place for small children, but I believe that people are made fully aware of this before staying.
This brings me to our second week in Bon Accord and how it made me realize how good the Sunset Valley Estate was. When I came home, people asked if I would go back to Tobago, and I said "no". However, when I started to think back to this place, I changed my mind big time.
I have stayed in dozens of villas around the world, and I can honestly say that this is the only one I would return to. We have even thought how wonderful it would be to retire here. It is just so peaceful - and what a way to start and end the day with these views!
So, when I said at the beginning we thought it was really good - we have changed our view to say it was great!
The pictures really cannot do justice to the place. Mom, Pop, Stephanie and Rande (the owner) are all genuinely friendly, honest and reliable people.
The five stars are for the whole package of the house and surroundings. It is definitely recommended. |

Sunset Valley is our own slice of heaven! Visited: April 2007 |

Our stay at Sunset Valley Estate was pure paradise! We visited every corner of the island, and can vouch that there is no better place to stay on Tobago.
The villa was perched on a hilltop overlooking the ocean and on the edge of the rainforest. It was lush, secluded, and peaceful, and we could hear myriad birds singing throughout the day.
Moms and Pops, the proprieters, took excellent care of us - cleaning the kitchen; picking fresh fruit from the estate's trees; and even doing our laundry!
Traveling with a child made staying at the villa the perfect choice for us. We could make our own meals, enjoy our own private pool, and enjoy DVD movies from Moms and Pops' huge DVD collection. Pops taught us all about the local birds, and brought us to a secluded, "secret" beach where we enjoyed the sea all to ourselves!
It was easy for us to get out on day trips and enjoy the island. Also, many other tourists we ran into who stayed in Scarborough or Crown Point and were envious of our location and the privacy of the estate.
We couldn't have made a better choice in accommodation on this island. Don't miss the opportunity to stay here! |

It was Heaven on earth. Visited: August 2006 |

I'd never been anywhere near Tobago before, so I went in knowing that I knew nothing. I'm only 26 years old, but I try to travel as often as possible. Because of this, I've been quite a few places, including Hawaii, many parts of Mexico, and yes, even to the luxurious slice of paradise known as Arkansas.
All joking aside, Tobago -- specifically where I stayed with Mom and Pop -- was by far the best place I've ever been. I struggle to see how it could possibly be surpassed.
It was Heaven on earth. I couldn't imagine a more gorgeous place to stay. It was so peaceful, so beautiful, and such nice people to be amongst. I honestly never wanted to leave. I'm just trying to figure out how I can make enough money to retire there in the next year or so.
The food prepared by Mom was absolutely delectable. The weather was perfect, and if ever it felt too hot, there was always their convenient pool to dive into.
The view had to be the best part, though it's hard to choose a best part when everything feels like a dream that you never want to wake from. The view was 360 degrees, green everywhere: plants, trees, we even saw a green frog. The view of the water was calming, we could see fishing boats go by every now and then.
Everywhere we looked, we could get lost in and stare for literally hours. There were hammocks around the deck if we felt like relaxing to a good book or taking a nap.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you're thinking about going, don't think any longer. It's something you'll never forget as long as you shall live. It's beauty that you've never laid eyes upon. It's serenity that you've never experienced. Bottom line: it's the best.
Thanks to Mom and Pop, two of the kindest, most genuine people I've ever had the privilege to meet. I hope to see the both of you again sometime in the not so distant future. If I can only be so lucky. |

This was one of the best holidays I have ever taken. I felt at home.
The house was very comfortable and accommodating. It was also very clean. Mom's cooking was delicious. The locals were very friendly.
We enjoyed fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, eating the local food, visiting nearby towns, and of course, laying on the beach. We had a great time at Englishman's Bay. It was very close to the house.
I would highly recommend the holiday. I will be returning. |

If you're looking for a romantic get-away or discriminating solitude, stay here. Rainforests, beaches, and unspoiled views are at your disposal.
Eternal youth is less than an hour away! The view is one of the most spectacular that I've seen -- the Rainforest in one direction and Englishman's Bay in the other. Midnight dips in the pool, a fully equipped kitchen, sunsets and birdwatching on the porch - you'll swear you're in paradise!
If all this sounds good to you, this is the place for you. Mom is the best hostess around - offering travel tips, doing laundry and sharing the best stories with her guests! Pops is wonderful, too, and if you're lucky, he may even take you on a hike to a waterfall! |

Sunset Valley Estate is your home in Tobago that makes you very comfortable. Mom’s bed and breakfast offered an opportunity to relax and enjoy Tobago from a perspective many never encounter.
Perched on the mountain above the Caribbean with a spectacular view of Englishman’s Bay, Sunset Valley Estate offered a quiet, welcome change to the hustle and bustle of the busy and growing Bend area we came from. Viewing the sunsets from the deck was secondary to enjoying the company of our fine hosts, Mom and Pops.
We found Sunset Valley Estate very clean and spacious, the hosts extremely accommodating, and the food (breakfasts) better than any we have experienced.
In addition, the location was excellent. The views were without equal. The host and hostess were uncompromising in their efforts to afford their guests a most relaxing visit to not only their home but also the Tobago area.

I have beautiful memories from my stay at Sunset Valley Estate. Visited: December 2005 |

My family and I have been back for a little over two weeks, but I still have a little buzz about our wonderful vacation in Tobago staying at Sunset Valley Estates.
From the moment we arrived, our hosts were just incredible to us. The only thing that could possibly beat their hospitality would be the beauty of their home and the view from the veranda.
We overlooked the tops of the rainforest onto the view of the Caribbean. We enjoyed beautiful breezes from the veranda, and there was plenty of seating and tables on the veranda for everyone to spread out and the birds flying back and forth.
On top of all that, we saw incredible rainbows. The rain would come and leave just as quickly! The pictures on the web site did not do the spot justice - neither did any of my pictures.
"Mom" made some meals for us, did our laundry each day (for five people) and worked the phones for us since our luggage was delayed. Our advice is to just take carry on luggage - you don't need much.
On Christmas Day, "Mom" and "Pops", Rande and Shauna invited us all for Christmas dinner - soup to nuts. That was not an easy thing in these parts. Pops took us on a rainforest hike - and he had more energy than any of us.
I cannot possibly say enough about how warmly we were treated, how peaceful the villa was, and how every single thing we could have wanted was taken care of. It was by far our best family vacation ever. I want to spend every Christmas the same way. This vacation was what memories are made of. We have asked ourselves more than once, "How did we get so lucky to find Sunset Valley Estates". You won't be disappointed. |

I just returned from a week at Sunset Valley Estate and all I can think about is when I can go back. It was the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday I have ever had. I have never been somewhere so peaceful and tranquil. The views were absolutely breathtaking. The people of Tobago were so kind and know how to have a good time. I highly recommend a stay at Sunset Valley. |

The house was gorgeous. I couldn't have imagined anything better. The views were breathtaking as well, with a 180 degree view of the Caribbean Sea.
Because of the plethora of friut trees, there was plenty of bird life as well. Besides that, this wonderful home was close by to one of the best rated beaches in the Caribbean. The people were friendly and the island was easy to get around. What more could you want in a destination? |

Having visited this property on two earlier occaisions, we knew what to expect. The anticipation began building while we were still on the plane and increased during the ride from the airport to the house.
The location was absolutely perfect with its views of the sea on one side and the rainforest on the other.
The design of the house was very well thought and it suited all our needs. Details like the wide, covered walkway around the house, the breezeway and hammocks provided options for escape from the sun and activity around the pool and were perfect places to be alone, to read or nap.
The grounds were beautiful and carefully maintained. The "great room" was perfect for after-dinner movies and games. Also, the bedrooms' ventilation allowed for comfortable sleep most nights without using the air conditioning.
The memory of sitting around the pool listening to Jimmy Buffet while soaking up the warm sun has kept me going through many cold and wet Washington winters. Each time we leave Sunset Valley to return to the states, we begin counting the days until next time. |
