This was a perfect vacation. Visited: September 2009 Posted by marcela_54 Our experience with staying at La Casablanca was beyond our expectations. The owners were extremely nice and helpful, and their house was warm and welcoming. Breakfasts were fantastic, big and filling. In the morning we woke up to the smell of pancakes or omelets, with a beautiful view from our window. In the evenings we came back to a perfectly clean room, fresh towels and washed laundry. The hospitality of La Casablanca was much more than what we would have expected from a hotel. They had a very personal approach. The owners were always happy to give advice or information, picked us up from the airport, and invited us to try some traditional food every now and then. This was paradise found. Visited: March 2009 Posted by pam781 I recently spent seven days with Pat and Ray. Having never been to Tobago before, I was immediately made to feel at home. The service was A plus. Pat actually had my washing in the machine while I ate breakfast - which also meant that when I got home I had nothing to do. Fabulous!. The rooms, the pool, the massive breakfasts, were all great. Also, the views were breathtaking. Ray took us round the island and showed us all the interesting places. I know we would never have seen or known about these places without his vast knowledge. You couldn't wish to meet two nicer, caring, considerate people. I am recommending that all my friends go to La Casablanca. It is well worth more than one visit. Visited: March 2009 Posted by richardnichols We had the most perfect relaxing holiday in the seven days we spent at La Casa Blanca. Pat and Ray's hospitality was first class. They could not have done more for us. It was five-star service at three-star prices. As for the location, the description and pictures on the net do not over-exaggerate things as you can hear the sea from the rooms, and it literally is a two-minute walk to Minster Bay. Added to this, Tobago is a beautiful and unspoiled island all of which means that the island and, in particular, la Casa Blanca are the perfect destinations for a holiday. 4 users found this review helpful. 0 found this review unhelpful. Visited: February 2009 Posted by griffinking I recently spent seven days and nights at La Casablanca Guest House run by Pat and Ray Smith. My stay exceeded expectations. The house was immaculate, and the owners were tremendously generous, yet never overbearing. We were given amazing meals each morning. They were custom made to our liking, keeping any dietary considerations in mind. We received airport transport each way by Ray. He also provided lots of local advice, stories, laughs and Internet help. We read the reviews before we arrived, but the place was far above what we expected. We could not believe this was a bed and breakfast. Pat and Ray have really thought out the needs of their guests. We were pampered from arrival to departure. They could not do enough for us. The house was beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. The garden and pool area was absolutely beautiful and well maintained, too. The breakfast was really huge and varied. It was also great to return home with little or no washing. The best part was we did not have to vacate until we booked in for our flight. Well done Pat and Ray, and thank you both so much for making our holiday perfect! Visited: July 2008 Posted by surreyfolks I took my three kids - ages nine, three and two - for the summer vacation, and it was like being at home. The kids spent so much time in the pool, they all learned to swim. Pat also helped with the kids in and out of the pool. As I was on my own, it was good to have the help. There was lots for them to play with - even in the large garden. There was so much room for them to play or watch TV. Also, I did not have to pack too much clothing, as washing was done daily. I had the use of the fully equipped kitchen to prepare my meals, too. I even had a built in babysitter. And if the kids came down with anything, I got advice from a retired nurse (Pat). Visited: July 2008 Posted by ritasing We spent a very pleasurable week with Pat and Ray in July. They were both incredibly helpful and informative. It was a real pleasure to have such a wonderful breakfast served up to us each morning. It amazed me that Pat and Ray could cook a different breakfast each day, and I often lingered over a second or third cup of tea. It was wonderful to have any laundry done each day, too, and it was also often washed and ready on our beds the same morning. Beach towels were available for us each day. Ray very kindly helped our two children with any beach toys they wanted. Our children loved staying at Pat and Ray's. Since our return home, they have often mentioned them both as if they were family friends. Thanks, again, for a wonderful holiday in Tobago. Visited: April 2008 Posted by dd_turlock We cannot say enough great things about Ray and Pat. From the time we arrived at the airport until we left three days later, it was nothing but an exceptional experience. We were guests who were kind of a pain. We came at a strange time (during the Plymouth jazz festival), but they both were extremely accommodating, and made us felt like family. The rooms were great, the food was the best we had experienced at any bed and breakfast, and the environment was relaxing. Also, Ray went out of his way to help us in many ways, and we really appreciated it. The beaches were good, and it was a memorable trip that we can highly recommend to others. There were beautiful views from every room, and we enjoyed all the outdoor areas in which to relax in the sun and breeze. Everything was provided to make our holiday as enjoyable as possible. Collection and drop off to the airport was included as part of the stay, as was a daily laundry service. The house was beautiful and immaculately kept. The gardens and pool were gorgeous, and the whole place was surrounded by fantastic scenery. We loved sitting on the balcony watching and listening to the ocean. As you can see from the other reviews, the breakfasts are legendary, keeping us going until the evening with no urge for lunch. Visited: April 2008 Posted by alleyne08 We stayed at La Casablanca Guest House from April 11 - 18th, 2008. From the moment they picked us up at the airport, we felt at home. The guest house was beautiful, very well kept, and clean. We received a variety of breakfasts over our week-long stay, and they were all delicious. In addition, the pool and gardens in the back were nice to see and enjoy. We cannot recommend it enough! We stayed for five nights, but really wished we had stayed longer. Pat, Ray and Dulcie (Pat's sister) were extremely kind and made us feel so welcome. The service at La Casa Blanca was second to none. Everything - being picked up at the airport, the wonderful breakfasts, and having all our washing done was top notch. Nothing is too much trouble here! The pool and garden were great for taking it easy and enjoying a beer or two. The rooms and guest area had everything we would require from a guest house. Thank you very much Pat, Ray and Dulcie for a fab few days. Visited: March 2008 Posted by valchris We planned to stay for two nights, but ended up staying until we had to leave for the UK. What a relaxing end to our holiday. The peaceful garden, the beautiful pool and the terrace with a view of the sea all contributed to the overall feeling of well being. Pat and Ray spoiled us with fabulous breakfasts (flying fish were especially good); lifts to town for the bank (and to stock up on beer); beach towels; daily clothes wash; and airport transfer - and all part of the package. They couldn't have been more kind or helpful. We didn't have a car, but were able to walk to Minster Beach, which looked pretty much as Robinson Crusoe must have found his beach. We also went to Bacolet Bay, which had great swimming and a bar. La Casablanca is beauty, comfort and relaxation! Visited: December 2007 Posted by alda We spent three days in La Casablanca during Christmas holiday. We regret we couldn't stay any longer. Here we (three Europeans from Belgium) learned what the word limin' really means! Pat and Ray made our stay extremely nice, comfortable and relaxing. They took care of everything; the gorgeous breakfast, the pretty rooms that were cleaned daily, doing the laundry for us, and supplying us with beachtowels. They also arranged our transport if we needed it, the car rental and the drinks at the poolside at sunset. The only thing we had to do was...limin'. Visited: October 2007 Posted by andersandmalin Pat and Ray were the perfect hosts! We stayed at La Casablanca for nine days, and got married on day two of our stay. Pat and Ray helped us out with everything, from booking the Reverend to all the legal arrangements. They were the perfect wedding planners! La Casablanca was the perfect place to relax, and the service was superb. Pat and Ray really exceeded all expectations! And, not to forget, the breakfasts were absolutely fantastic. It was more than we expected -what a bed and breakfast place! Visited: October 2007 Posted by thankfullimers We stayed at La Casa Blanca Guest House for a week, and it surpassed our expectations. We have traveled a lot. Most bed and breakfasts we've seen provide the basics. However, this place provided everything we needed and more. We were spoiled, and were made to feel part of the family. Ray and Pat's knowledge of the island helped us a lot to get around and learn about this beautiful peaceful island. The breakfast was so huge it kept us going until evening. Pat asked for our comments on how to improve the service, but we could not think of anything not being provided! Keep up the excellent work, Pat and Ray. Visited: July 2007 Posted by surreyfolks We stayed at La Casa Blanca for two weeks. It surpassed our expectations of what a bed and breakfast is. We have traveled quite a lot, and this place was value for our money. No where else offers so much included in the price. Pat and Ray were great with their knomledge of the island(although Ray is from Yorkshire).The rooms were large, comfortable, and so clean. We had everything we needed, and they could not do enough to make us happy and comfortable. The local beach was unspoiled and so natural. Sometimes we had it all to ourselves. The pool and garden were well kept, and the pool had swimways floats that kept you in the water while floating and cool. It was far more than we expected. The room was very spacious with a balcony and a sea view. We also had a nice view of the pool and garden. We had everything we needed, and were pampered by Pat and Ray. The garden was spectacular, and the aroma of the shrubs and flowers was unbelievable. It was a short walk to the local unspoiled beach, which we enjoyed so much as sometimes we were the only ones on it! We had use of the kitchen and the barbecue when required.
