The Trinidad Hilton is run down! Visited: June 2008
Posted by aac_28
I stayed at the Hilton for romantic weekend getaway. What I expected of the big name "Hilton" ended up being a huge disappointment!

There was mildew, broken bar doors, and the hotel needs a paint job badly, as the exterior was full of mildew! It was an embrassing memory.

For how many decades has the Hilton been in Trinidad? Don't they even care to re-model it? They should re-check the five-star rating that was given to this hotel!

Don't waste your money here. Visited: October 2006

This is the worst Hilton in the world. I wrote to the Hilton Corporation three times about this hotel, but they did nothing.

I had to wake up the GM at 2:30 in the morning to get a bottle opener. I think I was expecting too much when I expected a note from the GM apologizing for the inconvenience. They were such rude people!

Lowsy hotel, terrible value Visited: November 2004

The hotel charges expensive rates for rooms that have not been renovated for 30-40 years. The bed was too soft, the furniture dirty and cheap, the bathrooms below average.

When I stayed at the Trinidad Hilton and Conference Centre, I received amazing service.

I stayed here for about two weeks and I loved it. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We were treated very well. Visited: March 2003

A friend of mine, my son and I stayed at the Hilton for three days and two nights, and we were treated very well. Room service always came to our room quickly and we were always greeted at the door when we entered. It was a very pleasant experience. We will be staying here again in the near future!

Trinidad Hilton deserves a five-star rating for an excellent staff! Visited: February 2003

I really did not have any expectations of this hotel. I was only going to be here for a few days for Carnival and out of my room most of the time.

I was extremely pleased with service, the cleanliness of my room and the entire hotel...wake up calls, room service, doormen, and all the staff.

I would recommend this hotel to the most fussy of us all. Thank you, for making Carnival 2003 in Trinidad so unforgettable.

Polite, friendly service and great views. Visited: April 2001

I always wanted to stay in the Hilton, since I was a child living in Trinidad. Upon my arrival, I was greeted with a friendly smile and welcoming staff. The décor, along with the views from my room, were spectacular. Every moment at the Hilton made me feel like a million dollars. I highly recommend the Hilton to anyone visiting Trinidad—both tourists and locals alike.

Wonderful! Visited: February 2001

I had the luxury of staying here one more time again for the Carnival, and I was so happy with the quality of service.

The staff was wonderful as always and the parties were so much fun. My husband enjoyed every moment of his stay as well, and refuses to stay anywhere else.

The elegance of being here really makes you feel like a movie star. The Hilton is definitely “it.”

Wonderful! Visited: April 2000

I was here in April 2000, and was quite happy with my stay. It was beautiful, the staff were friendly, and I loved the pool and the entertainment at night. Having a drink at the Calypso bar in the evening, and watching the sunset was so beautiful.

It was expensive, but what the heck it was worth it. I want to go back.

It was a lovely location, but a shame about the rooms. Visited: November 1999

What a shame that such a lovely hotel had so many flaws.

The hotel is in a great setting with lovely views. The pool, the bars, the food were all excellent.

However, do not put anything in the safes in your room as these are not safe. I had money stolen from mine when I went for a swim, so I didn't use it after this.

I stayed in a twin room with my son. The room was fine, but my two daughters who shared twin rooms with a friend and a cousin had awful rooms. They were moved umpteen times after we complained. Their rooms were full of mildew, and one was actually flooded when they returned to it after a day out. The roof leaked, and the door fell off the mini bar!

The staff was always polite, but were very slow to deal with problems.
