Paradise was found at Castara Retreats. Visited: July 2005 Posted by rosevere In Castara, paradise awaits anyone who is looking to escape the usual tourist traps. This small fishing village has the perfect mix of fabulous golden beach, fresh seafood, a handful of places to eat out, and warm and welcoming locals. However, the real gem is Castara Retreats. Set on the hillside, these wooden lodges are clean, comfortable and understated with everthing you need for a relaxing holiday. And what a view! The whole bay can be seen from any of the six accommodations, and you will never tire of it! The other bonus of staying at Castara Retreats is the personal and friendly service provided by the local team, for whom nothing is too much trouble. They will deliver fresh bread, handle a car hire, provide guided tours of the island, or cater a barbecue for you and the rest of the guests. Our explorations of the island left us in no doubt that Castara is simply the best spot, and one of the Castara Retreats is the only place to be.
