Everything was wonderful! Visited: July 2003 |

I just came back from and Club Med and I am missing it already. I went with my boyfriend and we had a exceptional time. Everything and everyone was wonderful. Paul, keep up the good work!
We loved all the GOs and wished to have half the energy they had. They did a wonderful job - they were exuberant, talented and fun to be around! We hope to see them again in the near future.
If you are looking for a vacation filled with laughter, excitement and action, consider Club Med Turkoise as your paradise island. And if you are single, easy going and want to meet people and have a great time, do not think twice.
If you like to snorkle, scuba, sail, party, play tennis and remain active, there isn't a better place.
The only thing I wasn't really happy with was the room. But then again, we were never in our room, so it was nothing to consider or even worry about. As long as you are in a room with AC, a shower and a bed, everything else is useless.
I almost forgot - be prepared to gain a couple of pounds because Eric and his crew were the most outstanding chefs.
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time and we want to thank everyone in Club Med for making it happen.

I can't wait to go back. I went during singles week, and it was the time of my life. Forget about room comforts, because the true experiences took place outside of the room.
The meals were fantastic - fresh seafood, pasta al dente, desserts (enough said). Activities were endless - excursions, snorkeling, sailing, wind surfing, dance lessons, contests. The sports opportunities were abundant with body sculpting, strip- aerobics, basketball, water volleyball, tennis, golf, etc. Also, the beach and water were paradise.
There were also fun themes every night and fantastic music in the disco and at Sharkie's. The crazy signs were invigorating. The local animals were too cute. Jo Jo the dolphin (big show off), and the staff in reception, the bar and other areas made this stay worthwhile. I cried when I had to go. I'll be back! |

The rooms were set up like dormitories in college. The food was served buffet style and there was no wairess service. You would think that all that money you could at least get that. The slot machines were broken and i never had so many mosquitoes bite me.The best advise I could give you is if your looking for a unforgettable vacation for you and your husband don't go there. |

Major Disappoinment Visited: April 2003 |
| Posted by qias2003 |
 |
My third visit to this Club Med resort (March 31- April 7) was a major disappointment. Club Med had no control over some of the factors that
caused this; they did over others.
The trip was defined by weather and war. The weather was lousy.
Cool and very windy early in the trip, although it did warm up. The war
was a factor because many Americans weren't traveling. A long-time staff
member said she had never seen the resort so empty, with so little
energy.
As legendary Chef de Village "Hammer" has noted, when conditions are bad, that's when GO's really have to work hard to make their guests feel
welcome. The current Chef de Village of Turkoise, Paul Langas, must have been sleeping during that portion of the Club Med training program. His GO's were the laziest, rudest bunch I've ever encountered in my dozen trips to various Club Meds. One GO made no excuses. She noted that she was "just marking time" until she was being rotated to her next Club.
Then there was the matter of the air conditioning. It failed in the
D, E buildings. We went to the front desk, and they said it was repaired. But for the next three nights, the temperature in the room was suffocating and we couldn't open our windows because of the mosquitoes. I don't blame Club Med if the repair people couldn't do the job quickly. But I am angry at Paul Langas for taking the
"if-we-don't-tell-them-perhaps-they-won't-notice" approach. He could
have at least explained the problem during the evening shows.
On a larger scale, this village is in need of a major facelift. While they have done work here-and-there over the past few years, the buildings seem worn and run down. There are holes in the floor of the aerobics room. And the dance floor by the bar has the atmosphere of a high school gym (what happened to the computerized lighting that was there a year earlier?).
Perhaps all GO's, and Paul Langas in particular, could take a lesson from Marcel, the long-time Club Med staffer who runs the small restaurant on the property. He realizes that people look forward to something special when they eat at his place, away from the large dining rooms. He's courteous, greets people with a big smile and even laughs at his guest's not-so-funny jokes. He treats people with respect.
Perhaps it was just a bad week. Perhaps Club Med's managerial ineptness and fiscal woes are affecting the morale at the Village level. Whatever the case, I would not recommend Club Med Turkoise until there are changes.

A Let Down Visited: March 2003 |

Club Med Turkoise is a sub-par resort. While the beach is absolutely beautiful, probably one of the nicest I have ever visited, due to the terrible food, poor service and accommodations I will never stay at a Club Med Resort again nor would I recommend it to any of my friends.
Positives - There are great beaches, great sailing instructors and it is not too crowded. We never had to wait inline for any of the activities. The shows that were interactive with the audience were quite funny. The Circus/Trapeze show was also quite entertaining. The BBQ beach excursion is amazing, though an outside company runs it. We spent the day out on a boat, snorkeled in several areas around the islands, dove for lobsters and then grilled the fresh lobsters on the beach.
Negatives - The rooms are sparse, outdated and the beds are uncomfortable. The bathrooms have no ventilation. The food is cafeteria style and borderline inedible. There are constant flies in the cafeteria and all over the food. The Grill, an optional restaurant, is a better alternative for dinner. The shows that were not interactive with the audience were terrible. The plays were both uninteresting and poorly executed. The staff is only slightly helpful at most. Simple questions or requests were met with attitude. We were asked to lie on our scuba release forms in order to avoid seeing the scuba doctor. This seemed odd for a dive center that prides itself on safety. When one of the group actually needed to see a doctor in the infirmary, the doctor/nurse was nowhere to be found, though the infirmary was scheduled to open 20 minutes before we arrived. We had to ask the reception desk to call the doctor three times. She was diagnosed with extreme sun poisoning and told to drink plenty of water. We then went to the bar to get water – at which point the bartender refused to give us more that one bottle at a time despite having sun poisoning. I should mention that we also purchased the open bar band, which should have given us unlimited drinks.
Despite some of the shows, the nightlife is ok. The music at the disco (which is really just the bar by the pool augmented by some music) is mainly techno. The foam party was a blast.
If you would like a great meal I suggest walking down the beach to Anacaona. The food there is absolutely amazing. Be sure to make a reservation before you go.
In general, I didn't think that the resort was worth the money we paid to go. I have stayed at much nicer (in terms of accommodations, service and food) all-inclusive resorts for competitive prices. I would definitely return to Turks and Caicos, I will however stay somewhere else.

I have never had so much fun on a vacation. My best friend and I went not really knowing what to expect - and I can truly say it was the most fun I've ever had in under a week.
The G.O.s were so much fun and it was equally as fun to watch them run around and actually participate. They were as nice as they were good looking and we had so much fun with them. The bar staff was also great - Gabriel did a nice job keeping us in line.
We met great people and we had a blast. We cried when we left and we already have plans to go back next year. |

I have never had so much fun in my life! The weather was absolutely gorgeous and so were the GOs! I met some amazing people and shared so many wonderful experiences.
From my failed attempts at water sports to my success at the flying trapeze (I still can't believe that I climbed that ladder nine times), every moment was one that I will treasure.
The GOs were not only tanned and beautiful, they were extremely friendly, helpful and hard-working. They were (by far) the best part of the trip. The worst part was having to leave!

The ocean, palm trees, sunset...it was all breathtaking. The GOs were chocolate for weary eyes. I met wonderful people from whom I started getting telephone calls the day I arrived back in Atlanta.
Crazy signs was a blast (even if a little cheesy) and while the accommodations were camp-like, it was all my friend Susan and I needed, and we would absolutely come back.

This was my first Club Med experience. I went with my husband, and when we first arrived and went to our room, we were a little upset about the rooms.
They were very basic and seemed to be outdated. We were suppose to have a king sized bed which ended up being two twins pushed together. Although the rooms were very clean, they were really basic. I was expecting something more "upscale". The showers had literally no water pressure at all, and the water kind of smelled strange.
The beach and the G.Os were definitely are the best part of this trip. The G.Os were very friendly and were anxious to help guests have a good time. I liked the fact that they didn't push guests too hard to participate. You can go there and be busy with sports and activities all day long, or lie on a beach and relax.
The food was okay, and again, with it being a Club Med I thought the food would have been a lot better.
The Circus team was amazing - Josh, Randy, and Dani were so talented. We only wish that we had tried the trampoline on our first day so that we could have been there more.
The night shows were really enjoyable and "crazy signs" was a lot of fun.
I know someone earlier had commented about mosquitos, but they were fumigating the resort twice daily and this seemed to help since we really didn't notice any problems with them.
Remember to bring sunscreen! Shaded areas were difficult to find (on the beach) and you can still get a tan in the shade!
Overall, it was a great vacation. If the rooms were a bit nicer, I would have given it a higher rating. But aside from the rooms, we had a fantastic time! I would recommend this club, but would tell people about the rooms. |

If you want a luxury vacation with a very plush room, this isn't the place to go to. But if you want non-stop fun, great diving and a beautiful beach - this is the place to go. Jessica, from the diving team, was great - as well as the rest of the dive team. Everyone is friendly and go out of their way to say "hi" and make sure guests are having a great time. |

I have never in my life enjoyed something as much as I enjoyed Club Med Turkoise. The staff was beyond excellent - from the maintanence staff to the front of the house. I've never been treated so nicely in my life. Don't change a thing, the concept works and I look forward to when I can come back again. |

WIth the snorkeling, sailing and the foam party, this was way more than a vacation! I enjoyed the "Mel's Special", not to mention Sara, who worked at the snorkel shop.
From the time I woke up, until we closed down Sharkies, the fun never ended. By the bar bracelet, it was a great investment!
The only negative thing about the resort was the mosquito problem. Stock up on OFF!
I highly recommend Club Med Turkoise to everyone. |

This was the first time I went on vacation alone. I met wonderful people and had a blast. You really can party all night long if you like.
I have been back one day and already miss my " Mel Special " from the bar. French Frye was hysterical and kept me laughing all day long. The only activity I did was snorkeling, and it was amazing. I just relaxed on the beach all day long. The ocean was this truly unbelievable color.
The rooms were basic . But I never spent any time in them. They had a TV and phone. Also, the food was pretty good. You must try
the white chocolate bread! I will definitely go back! |

Club Med Turkoise is definitely the place to go if you are traveling alone and want to get away.
I was so nervous about going away by myself, but I had nothing to worry about. Three wonderful girls literally adopted me when we got off the plane. They were so wonderful to me. I had a roommate, and she was fabulous...we then met other girls who were alone and met many other great people.
The rooms were immaculately clean every day. All the guests were so friendly. The GOs were fun - most of them. The circus staff was incredible (Josh, Brian, Aaron and Dani). The tennis instructors - Beau and Steve - rocked! Also, the activities available to guests were designed to give you the option to do them or not.
The food was awesome (and I'm a picky eater). There was so much to choose from. The beach was the highlight, though. I spent hours just sitting in the ocean, we would stay on the beach until the sun set every day.
If I don't return to Turks and Caicos, I will definitely go to another Club Med. |

I just returned from Club Med Turkoise, and I had the most relaxing and fun time.
The beach was powder white and cool to your feet, even in the heat of the day. The water was the most amazing color - and clear. I snorkeled every day and saw nurse sharks every day but one. I actually saw JoJo the dolphin off the snorkel dock!
The only thing I would change would be to make the rooms a little nicer, although they were clean and comfortable. The food was good (especially the chocolate bread), and there was a nice variety.
I would come back to this Club Med in a heartbeat! |

This was my first visit to a Club Med. I went with my daughter, and we had a blast.
We loved swimming in the clear blue ocean and walking on the white beaches. We also enjoyed swimming in the pool or relaxing beside it. My daughter also enjoyed playing volleyball and water polo. We also visited the gym to keep in shape.
From the time we arrived to the day we left, the GOs were great! They did anything for you. We went sailing with Rodrigo, and I would have gone snorkeling except for my sunburn. Every morning we did the water exercises with Jonny or Brian. They were great guys!
The food was amazing. There was so much to choose from. The White Chocolate Bread was to die for! There were special theme nights and we really enjoyed the shows the GOs put on. We danced in the nightclub until closing and finished our night off down at Sharky's Bar. Our favorite bartenders, Seb and Phillip soon knew our drinks.
While there I celebrated a bithday, with my daughter and Paul and a group of people we met at the resort. It was one of my best birthdays ever!
I'd return in a minute, with lots of suntan lotion #45. I have a list of new friends to keep in touch with since my vacation.

This was my first time at Club Med or any all-inclusive resort. I booked this trip with a little apprehension because I was afraid that it would be cheesy or worse.
I could not have been more wrong!
My group and I had such a great time. We are still missing happy hour at Sharkys!
The accommodations, while sparse, were fine. Who cares anyway - we never left the beach! We went sailing, snorkeling, windsurfing, scuba diving - we did it all and had a blast! The staff, including the new village chief Joey "Energia", were all so friendly - but without being in-your-face cheesy!
The bartenders were fun partiers who jumped out from behind the bar to have fun with us! And the value for what we paid for what we got was enbelievable!
My only complaint was the food - it was so awful that I think I ate better cafeteria food in elementary school. But you know what? You're having so much fun you don't even care! Trust me!
I will definitely go back, and back, and back!

The vacation of a lifetime. Visited: February 2002 |

This was my first Club Med vacation, and I was truly impressed.
I have been on other all-inclusive vacations which did not compare to Turks. The team of GOs working in Turks and Caicos was to be truly commended. They made my vacation. Everyone was always full of energy, smiling and were there to make sure we were happy.
If anyone did not enjoy this vacation, it was their own fault. The evening shows were amazing.
Olivia, in reception, was a wonderful person and it was a pleasure to be in her Spice Girls skit. Hendel did an excellent job of running the village and his outgoing personality and charm was portrayed throughout his whole staff. The circus team - Josh, Simone and Liz - were unbelievable and made a scary situation a lot of fun.
The crazy signs were great. The bartenders kept right up with the drinks, namely Tamberly and the Sebastians. Fred and Max were excellent snorkeling guides. Gustavo made tennis exciting. We couldn't leave out Flavio's good looks next to the sail boats. French Fries had us laughing all day long. Even if I failed to mention any GO's specifically, they all were great.
This was a beautiful island and perfect for a singles vacation. I made friends of a lifetime and will definitely be back. Thanks for a great trip! |

Excellent water sports destination Visited: February 2002 |

Tab here again for my second review. Club Med definitely cleaned up their reception since last year and it looked very professional.
I just came back from a week at Turkoise and loved it. The only problem was the lack of television in my room. They said it was the cable company, but the problem only affected parts of the resort. It was not a huge problem, but it would have been nice to check in on CNN once in a while or catch a late movie at 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. The problem was never fixed.
Apart from that, I have only glowing reviews of Club Med Turks. Hats off to the dive team: Marco, Steve, Jay, Jamie, Charles, Fred,Christian, Lennie the photographer and Captain Michele were all fabulous. I apologize if I missed anybody. I dove everyday for six days and loved it. I saw a humpback whale on migration, dolphins, sting rays, eagle rays, a Hawksbill Sea Turtle, sharks, parrot fish, angel fish, barracuda... you name it, it was there. The dive team is thoroughly professional and competent. It was a joy to dive with them.
The food was good. Sometimes I loved it - lean, grilled beef, perfectly cooked vegetables and lots of fresh fruit. And sometimes it wasn't to my liking - Mexican Night (a bit heavy for me). However, there was always something to eat and, what the heck, I could lose five pounds anyway.
I found the staff very helpful and the comraderie great. Yes, the male G.O.s are on the prowl for attractive young ladies, but what the heck, that's one of the reasons they work there. Billy, the sports co-ordinator, roped everybody in for participation whether they were 20 or 80.
I must mention Josh and the circus crew. He runs a great department and I could do trapeze and trampoline for hours a day if I had the opportunity. Kudos to Josh the Newfie, Vermont Josh, Simone and their latest addition (sorry, can't remember her name). They also put on fabulous shows!
I don't know why Larry from Atlanta was so upset about the shows. These people aren't professional entertainers, they're the scuba guys, the circus people, the sailing guys, etc, who work really hard to put on entertaining shows. It was good fun and I certainly appreciated the hard work that went into them.
All in all, a very enjoyable week of bliss away from reality. I would do it again in a second. |

I've been to many Club Meds over the last 10 years and Turquoise was my favorite. The beaches were indescribable and the color of the water was so beautiful; it looked unreal.
Hendel, the village chief, was charming, professional and always available. Daniel, the guitarist during happy hour at Sharkies, was certainly one of my favorites. After a few nights of The Sunset Song at sunset, you might try to book another week, no matter what the consequences! The club also had a nice mix of couples and singles. I will absolutely go back next year. |
