5.0 stars Regent is a stunning resort. Visited: June 2007

I just got back from five nights at The Regent Palms. The resort was stunning, immaculately clean and elegant.

I walked along the beach, and the beach at the Palms was the most well maintained. The pool area was beautiful with comfortable lounges (not too many available, though).

It was more crowded than I expected in low season. I was told there were two weddings going on, which is common in June. There were also more kids than I anticipated (they do have a kids' club).

The service was top notch - always enough towels, very responsive to any request, frozen fruit, and water and cold towels distributed on the beach (for free). The staff was incredibly friendly and respectful.

In addition, the prices were outrageously expensive ($4 for a can of soda).

The quality of the food and menu options were excellent. For lunch, walk to neighboring hotels (Bay Bistro and Hemmingway's) for good food at less outrageous prices.

My favorite meals were at Parallel 23 and the restaurant at the Sommerset next door. We also ate at Coco Bistro (very good), Bella Luna (okay) and Iguana (not great).

I highly recommend this resort to couples or families, just be prepared to spend a lot of money!

5.0 stars This place was absolutely beautiful! Visited: June 2007

We just got back from our honeymoon in Turks and Caicos. We stayed at The Regent Palms.

The resort staff was extremely friendly, and were there if we needed anything. At night, the maids did turn down service, and delivered two bottles of water.

The rooms were great. We stayed in a garden view room.

The food was a little pricy- $16 for a cheeseburger and fries, $8 for a bottle of Fiji water - but it was great. You can walk to the Bay Bistro (two hotels down on beach), or Hemmingway's for a cheaper lunch and dinner ($9 for a burger and fries, or fish and chips, etc).

However, be warned - the service at Hemmingway's can be hit or miss. It missed with us (very slow waitresses who didn't seem to care about anything or anyone). Also, try Giggles ice cream it was great!

You can walk down the beach (about a mile) to the Comfort Inn and Suites which has a beach access. It will take you right to the ports of call shops. It's a better walk than the expensive cab rides!

I would recommend the Caicos Adventures half-day snorkel and conch dive- it was worth it! We also did the J & B private island getaway- perfect for honeymooners!

Our trip was wonderful, and we will go back again someday, when our funds are replenished! It was a great place to go with crystal clear water as far as you can see. There wasn't a whole lot to do at night, but it was a great relaxing atmosphere.

In addition, it was sunny every day, with not a drop of rain. There was rain on other islands, but we were told it hardly ever rains in Provo!
