Sunset Point Villa exceeded my expectations. Visited: January 2007 |

Sunset Point was amazing. The view, the accommodations, and the amenities - we loved it all!
The kitchen was set up far beyond our expectations, and being able to snorkel right in front of the house was a huge bonus.
In addition, Taylor Bay Beach was beautiful, and hardly touched by human footsteps (besides our own) while we were here. The villa was a wonderful get away for our group of couples, but was set up perfectly for a family vacation.
The villa staff was wonderful, too. They checked on us often, and were great with recommendations and advice. We plan to return as soon as possible and hope to book this same villa for our extended family vacation. |

There were lots of slippery steps, but it was lots of fun! Visited: December 2006 |

We stayed at this home for two weeks at Christmas in December 2006. It was a lovely, well-equipped home - perfect for families.
The only downside was the flea-ridden basement area and the wild cats that would run into the home if a screen door (missing a few screen doors by the way) was not closed. A few of the screen doors had holes large enough for the cats to come through, so they were of no use.
The amount of steps was a problem for the older folks in the crowd. But the separation of bedrooms from the main living area allowed for a lot of privacy for two combined families.
The pool filter/chlorine system was not up to par, and the pool was murky most of the visit. Apparently (according to the maintenance man), the filter had not been working for a while and manual chlorine had to be added each week. I would have certainly vacuumed and chlorinated the pool, but there were no supplies to do so.
The two decks that were pictured going down to the water ended up being only one (recently replaced), and that long ladder proved a burden for the older folks in our party.
The water was beautiful on day one and day two, but seriously churned up and dangerous for the rest of the two weeks we were here. We ended up walking over to lovely Taylor Bay and floating on the tranquil water.
The view from this home was perfect. Rainbows appeared often. Cooks will love the kitchen, and kids will love the rec room. Bring your own floats, as most of the ones at the home are damaged and not useable.
We felt safe in this home. The neighborhood was nice. Don't let the drive in make you question your decision. If you are looking for peace and quiet, you won't be disappointed.
The owner was easy to deal with and amicable. The "welcome" company couldn't have cared less about the state of the property. After day one, we couldn't get a hold of her for anything. If you like BS responses to your requests and can roll with them, then just relax on island time and have a great vacation, we did.
Last hint...don't (and I mean don't!) use Big Blue for any excursions. They quoted one price online, and jacked up the fee after our trip. The guys "teaching" us to dive seemed totally cocky and were not safe (ruptured my ear drum from their hasty accent on a diving excursion). |

We just returned from a family vacation at the villa. The setting, views, and weather were just spectacular! The owners of the villa have seemed to anticipated almost every need with mostly great success.
The lack of AC should be considered, but it only forces you to spend more time suffering in the most beautiful waters anywhere! |

This house offered a great view of the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Taylor Beach was just a walk or short swim away, and was great. It was secluded with shallow water. Many days we were the only people on the beach for hours.
If you are used to a/c, this is not the place for you. The bedrooms had individual units, but the main house area did not. Just keep yourself in the pool or water during the afternoon, and eat dinner on the great deck overlooking the ocean.
The kitchen was fully equipped, but do not overload the fridge or it will not work. Also, don't miss a lobster beach party with Pringle from Silver Deep - it was amazing.
We came here with five kids - ages 2, 4, 6, 8, and 16. It was a very kid-friendly house. The roads were very rough, though. Scooter Bobs car rentals was great, if you rent a car while you are here. |
